Question about Power Items

If I use a power item (Bracer, Anklet, etc.) will it add 4 EV's or give me just 4 EV's.

For example: My Elekid defeats a Shinx that is normally worth 1 Attack EV. Elekid is holding the Power Bracer. Does he get 4 total Attack EV's or 5 total Attack EV's

He should get a total of five, IIRC.

Yeah .. whatever you normally get PLUS 4 EVs. In your example, it is 5.

since were on the subject what if you battle someone that gave 1-3 special attack with that Power Bracer how would that work out

Add 4 to each Pokémon you battle. It's always adding 4, and it's always more than Macho Brace. Pokérus doubles the end result.

sorry, so it would increase the special attack by it normal value and add 4 in attack also

If you would normally gain no EVs in the stat, it would add 4 anyway, and any other EVs gained would remain unchanged (unless the Pokémon has Pokérus).
