Ok, so I finally managed to beat E4 and get National dex,and im now thinking of making seperate teams(fire,ice,electric...) so my first team(s) would be fire-type.As Sinnoh doesn't have any good fire types so im asking you to help me and reccomend me some good fire types not only from Sinnoh.Oh,also im making 2 teams and using every fire starter from the games so i need only 8 more pokemons. One more thing,i dont know should i put all 4 starters and 2 more pokemons in one team and 6 diferent fire types uin other team or put 2 starters in one team and 2 in another.

Thanks for reading my thread and I hope you help me.

Arcanine is a good fire type, if you wanted to use him. I usually always use him as my fire type. (but that my opinion)

Fire is one of the worst types to make a mono type team. But if you must Id include Bellyzard, and mabey heatran, and mixape is always good. I guess Hypnosis Ninetails could work too.

Mono teams are really hard, especially for Fire (hint: Stealth Rock!). Torkoal's a requirement to Rapid Spin away those Rocks and he has the advantage of being able to beat Dusknoir with Will-o-wispw though he is weak to SR himself...

Bellyzard is an awesome thing, and there's little reason not to use it. Heatran is neutral to Rock, which is helpful, plus he's awesome at life and killing. Infernape is another good physical sweeper. Otherwise, good luck.

Charizard
Infernape
Heatran
torkaol
ninetails
arcanine
in no specific order

I would probably use those if i was only allowed fire types.
maybe even replace one of those with houndoom, it depends.

As has been stated, Stealth Rock makes mono-fire teams a nightmare to use. Therefore, Torkoal needs to be on the same team as Charizard and Moltres if you use it. Most other things I can think of have been said, really.

I suggest using a Heatran so you would have 2 fire fighting, 1 fire fly, 1 fire, 1 fire steel, and probably a ummm....... Magmar idon't know I don't use fire a lot

Houndoom, is used properly, can be a demon. He has terrible defenses, but give him a Life Orb and Nasty Plot to make him a great Special Sweeper.

Yeah, I actually like Houndoom. In this team, I'd actually run him as my lead with Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, and and Taunt. Usually, this would be kind of a bad idea (I don't like a lead with only two moves, but running a guy with Taunt in this team can help prevent that disastrous Stealth Rock).

For mono-Fire, a lot like the other guys said, I'd definitely run Heatran, Infernape, and Belly Drum Charizard. All 3 are really good sweeper-types, so that'll help a bit.

Torkoal (Rapid Spin!!, plus you kind of need a defensive type on this team), Rapidash (Flare Blitz > Blissey, Megahorn and Bounce .. not that Bounce is good, but it's another type, I guess), and Typhosion (Eruption is all kinds of for the win) are all pretty good as well.

Heatran is good. I love Houndoom and I've had good luck with Rapidash. There's always Flareon.

Flareon is always a good choice. I'd say almost anything with Flash-Fire is worthy..........ALMOST

So now you guys have bumped this thread on two separate occasions. Good job.

Flareon sucks. Return is its strongest physical attack, including STAB. Use, uh, anything that's not Flareon. Hell, Magcargo is slightly more useful.

OK, so flareons att is 130 base. it learns fire fang. that' i really. blaze kick, fire punch and... well that about all of the useful fire physical attacks. the pokemonis useless for it's stats. i does nothing. dn't use it.

sorry for the spelling mistakes. my computer is screwed up.

Flare Blitz is a good physical Fire move, despite not that many things learning it.

For a decent Fire Pokemon, I like Camerupt. He's very underrated, but can be a defensive stronghold. 4x weakness to grass can be a buzz killer, but Solar Beam is always an option, especially when paired with Sunny Day for 1-turn Beaming. Give it earthquake for dealing with Stealth Rockers, and Flamethrower as it's standard strong fire attack, powered up further by Sunny Day. Try to EV train In Defense and Special Defense, with the emphasis on special defense and Camerupt should serve you very well.

charizard works very well.

4x weakness to grass can be a buzz killer,

You mean Water? :P

Lemme repeat, mono Fire is extremely hard to pull off as you need to compensate for a bunch of weaknesses and especially Stealth Rock. At least you "get to" use Torkoal for that whom easily beats Dusknoir one-on-one.

(That Torkoal would be a Rapid Spinner, by the way.)

you could teach houndoom sunny day & let solarbeam away unwanted water, rock & ground types????
(i saw it on pokemon stadium 2 so i thought it might work)

It's a nice trick, but Houndoom dies to anything that's carrying Surf (Milotic, Empoleon) or Hydro Pump (Salamence). Hell, anything Rock/Ground as well, since they're also weak to Grass (Rhyperior uses EQ on Houndoom's Sunny Day turn, shake hands).

If you HAVE to have a Grass or Electric move, just go for HP Electric and Grass Knot. That'll tag almost everything that can really harm you anyway. Worst come to worst, something with HP Ice can take care of Salamence (at least with a Choice Scarf attached, since Hydro Pump > Fire-types).

Thanks about that, I was just tacking a wild guess!

I'd have to agree with the others and definitely vote for charizard (duh!), arcanine, blaziken & maybe torkoal.

if you're going to use all 4 starters on 2 teams, seperate blaziken and infernape.
Also, seperate charizard and moltres.
