So many bands I like on tour right now . . . none of them coming close to me. These three in particular are on my must-see list.
Kaddisfly
The Glorious Unseen
Coheed and Cambria (actually came to my town in February but I didn't get to go :( )

I'm avoiding live music at the moment in the hope that it will help me concentrate on my studies... the next show I have lined up is Parkway Drive at the beginning of May...

I saw the Somewhere Back In Time tour.
I want to go again.

Won't be attending:
2 Rush shows close. Can't afford them... luckily I saw them twice last year.
Opeth/Dream Theater. Dream Theater isn't a "must see" for me so I'd rather save the money.
Might see:
Iron Maiden's Somewhere Back in Time Tour. Tickets might be a bit pricey but manageable to hear the Powerslave era again.
Nightwish. Hartford is kind of far on a mid-week night. But I worked/was awake for 30+ hours before the last show they had so I'd like a proper viewing of them.
Will see:
Edguy/Kamelot in October. Kind of a crappy place out near Boston but one of my favorite metal bands opening for my favorite metal band. Tix will be $20 as well. Perfect.

Seeing Thrice/Circa Survive/ and Pelican April 25th here in town. I'm still thinking about driving to Memphis(never done) and seeing Saves The Day/Set Your Goals/ and Armor for Sleep (someone else is playing too) on the 20th, but it's Memphis and the start of finals week.

I did want to see KoRn with one of my old mates, but now I can't go because its my best friends and his girlfriends birthday.

I'm seeing Rush here in Kansas City, Missouri in June. The same month my brother and I are driving to Chicago to see Iron Maiden. June is looking to be a good month. I also want to see Edguy and Kamelot later in the year, but that would require another long drive... we'll see. My dad, my brother, and I are going to ProgPower USA IX (flying to Atlanta for that) in September. There I'm mainly excited to see Iced Earth (with Matthew Barlow back on vocals), but some of the other bands that will be cool that I've heard of are Iron Savior, Rob Rock, and Jon Oliva's Pain (I really only know Jon Oliva as the singer of Savatage, but he is awesome, so his solo band must be too, right?). I really want to see Gamma Ray and Helloween on their tour together, but as far as I know they won't be coming anywhere near me.

The only concert I'm going to right now is the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour in September. Even though it's a full day, I'm really only there for Dragonforce and Slipknot.
I'm also planning to see a couple other bands when their new albums get out. I'm going to HammerFall & Alice Cooper for sure, and maybe I'll see Metallica when they release their new album. But I don't expect any of those three albums to be released until the end of the year, so I guess I won't see them until next year :(.

March 28th, 2008, 01:09 PM
There's quite a number of tours/shows I'm planning on going to:
MMRBQ- Stone Temple Pilots are headlining, but no other bands have been announced yet (there's still 6 slots open).
Rockstar Mayhem Tour- Going for the fact that Disturbed are the main act, along with Dragonforce supporting on the main stage. Don't care too much for slipknot though. Also hoping to see Black Tide. They kicked ass on the main stage at Ozzfest last year.
Ozzfest- Lamb of God might be there again, but with Disturbed doing the rockstar tour, Ozzy and LoG will probably be the only redeeming factors, unless it's free again.
Family Values Tour- Korn are, simply put, the best live act I've ever seen.
Iron Maiden- I've always wanted to go, but they've always had tickets out of my price range or have sold out way too fast.
Alice In Chains- I heard they may be doing another tour this year. Although they'll never be as great as they were with Layne, I heard their new singer makes up for him not being there.
Godsmack- This is one of the bands I'd pay anything to go see.
Metallica- Yeah, they suck compared to what they used to be, but I want to see them at least once live if they come around my area.
I'd also kill to go see Megadeth, but the closest place they're playing is NYC at Madison Square Garden, and that's way too far to travel just to see a concert.
Oh, almost forgot- The Offspring are planning a tour sometime this year, and along with Godsmack, they're one of the few bands I'd pay anything to go see.

Isn't Slipknot headlining? I thought Disturbed/Dragonforce/Mastodon were supporting on the main stage.
WTF d00ds?
March 28th, 2008, 04:34 PM
No, Disturbed is headlining because of their new album due out in june. Slipknot, Mastodon, and Dragonforce are supporting them. In fact, I think Disturbed were the ones to put the whole thing together.

Actually after checking a few sources, both Slipknot and Disturbed are headlining. Both have new albums coming out, as well as Dragonforce. And according to Wiki Children Of Bodom and Trivium are also playing? That is gonna be amazing!
WTF d00ds?
March 28th, 2008, 05:14 PM
Yeah, CoB, Trivium, and Black Tide are all gonna be on the second stage. This tour is starting to sound like it's gonna blow Ozzfest outta the water.

Well Dave Matthews Band just announced tour dates, but they aren't coming to Maryland. And when they are in neighboring states, I wont be able to attend. Uhg.
Flogging Molly would be an awesome show, and I am going to Ireland this summer. Sadly, they are in Turkmenistan or some odd country like that.

Bruce Air!? You bastard! :P
And you're seeing Bayley? Really? Wow. That shocks me simply because I think he's horrific. Like, he can sing and all, but... Ugh. I don't like it.

I swear to god, Im going to see Iron Maiden before I die. That is all.
Austin.
March 29th, 2008, 08:28 PM
I'm hoping to see Matchbox Twenty this summer. I went to see them in Charlotte NC on Jan29th of this year. It was the best time of my life. They were in my top 3 favorite bands, now they are number one. Not to mention my dad has been a fan since they were a band, so having a dad that likes em kinda lets going to see them on tour alot easier.
I wish Alter Bridge would go on a tour sometime soon. I like them.
And, Scott Stapp has a new album coming out 8/8/08, well its either a new album or new tour. His myspace doesn't say which. So, Im hoping to see Stapp sometime this year.
That is all.

I'm going to see Rush in June. I'm also gonna see Warrant and Cinderella, Journey and Cheap Trick, and Bon Jovi and Chirs Daughtry. I know somebody that can get me cheap tickets, so I pretty much go to every concert that comes to my town.

So...This year alone:
Saw The Cure a few weeks ago, it was a great concert, even if a tad too long at 3 hours). Tomorrow (The 2nd) I'll be watching Editors, then Down at the end of the month I hope.
Now summer...I've got two festivals I'll attend. First and foremost: Rock in Rio. That means Metallica, Machine Head, Apocalyptica and Moonspell. Then there's Super Bock Super Rock, which has a lineup consisting of Iron Maiden, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold and Rose Tattoo.
So yeah, it's shaping up to be quite the concert season. :) Of all those I'm really pumped for Editors and Maiden...Seeing as I already saw Metallica last year, heh.

Yeah, I 'obtained' his discography... Well, the 'Blaze' one, so his newer stuff. It's pretty sweet. Some of it is a bit cliche and bleh, but I'd still love to see him. Too bad I'm across the pond.

Jealousy Curve (local band)

I'm really wanting to see the Type O Negative/Hatebreed tour that is coming through town around June. I also heard something about Disturbed/SlipKnot/Suicide Silence touring the country, but apparently they aren't coming anywhere close to where I live so Im pretty upset about that.

Thank god MCR aren't doing any tours. I still can't believe anyone takes emo seriously. Atreyu aren't that bad, but they seriously need to stop screaming, or at least stop sounding like they're trying to pinch a loaf when they do.

ugh... labeling bands as emo is just stupid. MCR doesnt always sing about death and stuff, and btw MCR is on tour right now

Seeing Van Der Graaf Generator at the end of this week, most probably Mark Knopfler on the 27th of April, and hopefully Roger Waters in June.
The Roger Waters concert is going to be free to attend as far as I know, and while I'm quite psyched, I can't even begin to imagine the crowds he'll get as it's his only Russian show.

I'd just about sell my soul to go to Lollapalooza this year. Incredible lineup. That and the All Points West festival in Jersey. But, alas, I'm poor. So instead I bought a ticket to a singular band concert, but at least it's Radiohead. *happy dance*
Austin.
April 19th, 2008, 12:48 PM
So Matchbox Twenty is starting to add summer dates.
Very slowly....But they are still in the middle of a tour, in Australia though.
So matchsticks is a definatly this year.
I am really getting into Pearl Jam, who knows if they will do a tour.
I forgot to add this in the post a few weeks ago. (*maybe I didn't sorry if I did*)
KISS I said KISS. They are doing a HUGE Europe tour. A farewell tour? Hopefully they will do the US this year

April 21st, 2008, 06:10 PM
Seeing dEUS in a few weeks' time.
dEUS is one hell of a band. Just about the only musical contribution Belgium has ever given the world.
They've just released a new album - Vantage Point - and it's pretty kickass. Soft, unconventional rock with elements of many other genres.
Their lead singer is a little odd, with an almost transparent, slightly high-pitched voice, but there's no one quite like them.

I doubt I'd actually go, but there's two I wouldn't mind going. One is the King of the Grey Islands with Candlemass. The other is Gigantour with Megadeth, High on Fire and a couple of other bands.

April 23rd, 2008, 10:07 PM
The 69 Eyes
Kaizers Orchestra
Turbonegro
But, they all very rarely do concert tours in American. Hell, I don't think Kaizers has ever played in America.

Tour of the year just had its lineup released today
3 Doors Down
Hinder

Anyone who isn't following this tour has absolutely no taste in music. Or at least a minimum of 5 dates, because this tour isn't a "if I'm gonna go." Its a "how many times am I gonna see these guys play"
