Cress is really, really sturdy. As in only non-Steel type in the game that can take 2 CB Garchomp Outrages in a row sturdy. Unlike other physical walls, Cresselia has gargantuan Special Defense too, so it's not as simple as throwing on Shadow Ball on physical sweepers to beat him (like people threw Fire Blast for Skarmory on everything). Cresselia is basically Lugia with less Special Attack, Speed, and no Whirlwind. That means pretty damn good.

Problem is, Cress's Special Attack blows. You're only going to be able to really use it if you are hitting Super Effective, so Cresselia often stocks up on moves like Charge Beam, Ice Beam, Grass Knot, etc. to counter specific things like Gyarados, Garchomp, Salamence, and whatnot. Also, Moonlight only heals 25% in Sandstorm, which means Rest/Sleep Talk is sometimes used over it.

The standard Cress is 32 HP / 252 Def / 224 Satk; Modest to guarantee a OHKO on Garchomp and 2HKO on Gyarados, running Charge Beam, Ice Beam, Reflect, and Moonlight. Other options include Calm Mind (Cresselia is EXTREMELY tanky and can take 25 hits while boosting), Grass Knot, Restalk, etc.

I quite like Psycho Shift / Rest / Sleep Talk / Some special attack like Ice Beam or Charge Beam with a Flame Orb. It wreaks havok on the other team like nothing else.

Psycho Shift Cresselia is probably one of the most annoying things I have ever played against. By the way, I've only seen one Psycho Shift guy on Shoddy, so maybe I've battled you before! (gasp)

The cool thing is you can pass the Sleep around too!

Cressalia is somewhat like Shuckle in the fact that it's defenses are amazing, however Shuckle still wins that award by such a fricking long shot. But a plus to Cress over Shuckle it that Cress can attack, where as Shuckle's base attack stats are 180 or something at level 100.

On Cress, I personally have the following: Charge Beam, Rest, Sleep Talk, and Ice Beam.

Shuckle is nothing like cress. AT ALL. Shuckle is used to come in on virtually anything set up stuff then switch. Cresselia is used to wall things.
