Yes folks, you heard correctly. The Stone Temple Pilots are indeed reuniting. The 1st show they're playing together is at an incredible event only about 30 minutes away from me in Camden at the Sesquehana Bank Center (formerly the tweeter center). They're playing the MMR-B-Q, which is a bi-annual event held at the start and finish of the outdoor concert season each year by the greatest radio station in the world, WMMR. If you want to know more about the station, check out WMMR.com. Their radio show (Preston and Steve) was voted best in the country for the last 6 of 7 years, and if you ask anyone who listens to them or download one of their free podcasts at prestonandsteverock.com, you'll see why. There's also gonna be 6 other bands, but none have been announced yet, and STP are headlining.

STP have always been one of those bands that I've liked, not every song, but quite a few of them are pretty kickass.
I wonder if Weiland will be able to sing the STP stuff coherently like he used to. He's so damn hard to understand in Velvet Revolver...bleh.

So...STP are playing a reunion show, or are they actually going to launch a new album?

Wiki says they're launching some sort of 'summer tour', so it seems to be more than just a one-off reunion show.
Didn't comment on any new album, though that would be cool.

STP kicks ass. Scott Weiland has incredible vocals. Which is saying a lot considering his grunge brethren are Layne Staley, Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder. Not to mention their one of the most perfected bands when it comes to writing smart, catchy lyrics and smart, catchy riffs. Honestly, who hasn't seen at least one chain-smoking man with an acoustic guitar go on stage and cover "Interstate Love Song". Honestly. That has to be in the top ten most covered songs I've ever heard when pertaining to acoustical work.

Doesn't matter what they've planned if Weiland doesn't kick his drug habit for good STP won't be back for very long....Would love to get a new album out of them though hopefully.

No, I mean they won't be back together for long. Bad wording on my part lol. I already knew about them being back together awhile ago.

No, they're officially reuniting, and weiland just got out of rehab within the last month or so, which means he's genuinely trying to make this work. His drug habits were the root of their break up in the 1st place.

Yeah, STP's back to play a few shows. They're coming up here to play at River Rave in June, put together by the local WBCN radio station. Along with Everlast, Filter, and a few others. I'm hoping to nab a spot for that show, STP is awesome.

They're definitely one of the best american rock bands of the last 20 years.
