I'm currently raising a Wobbuffet. At the moment, it's at LV18 with 106HP (I also now know why it's classed as an uber.)

Training it up is becoming pretty long winded due to the fact that I am lousy at predicting what moves my opponent will use. which of these would you suggest i use?

1. Use doubles battles to train Wobbuffet, paired with a pokemon that knows taunt

or

2. use the move tutor to teach him encore and have him hold a quick claw, so that i get a good chance of being able to KO opponent's in a couple of turns.

i would use the 2. option, even though i wont have a wobbuffet in my team whatsoever, but thats my busnes...Good luck training the Wobuffet! Also, why odnt you give him an expirience share?

EXP share i've already thought of... I like actually having Wobbuffet in battle to see how he can cope against attacks.

Encore method is best. The guys who give Defense and Special Defense EVs (Graveler, Steelix, Tentacruel) generally have pretty weak attacks. Double battle Taunt is probably a good idea.

The Move Tutor won't work, since Encore isn't actually in Wobbufet's move list. You have to breed a Wynaut and have it learn Encore before it evolves. The best complete moveset is Encore, Counter, Mirror Coat, Destiny Bond.

I must've misread Serebii then, because I thought Encore was an egg move, but apparently not, because Wobbuffet has no egg moves...

It's not an egg move. It's a move that it learned by Wynaut, which is Wobbuffet's pre-evolution. For Wobbuffet to know it, you must evolved a Wynaut that knows it.

I'm assuming that If I evolve a wynaut into wobbuffet, it won't have as high HP. What nature should I look to get when I breed 2 Wobbuffet? I can combat the slight loss of HP with leftovers and HP up items from the mart, but I want to make the difference as little as possible between my current Wobbuffet and my bred Wynaut.

It will have the same HP as if it had always been a Wobbuffet when it evolves. You should be after any nature that increases one of your Defence stats and doesn't decrease the other.

why is wobbefet a uber?

That's more of a Competitive thing, but it's mainly because he can switch in to almost anything, then Encore. If the enemy attacked, Wob is guaranteed a KO. If the enemy didn't, then something is free to set up for a sweep AND Wobba can come back again with impunity. Shadow Tag just destroys any attempt at not giving your opponent a free two turns or KO.

Plus, as a last resort, Wobbuffet can take the opponent with it with Destiny Bond.
