I personally go for evire because his ability is good, and magmortar is cursed with being a fire type.

Now with Electivire and Magmortar I beleive that Electivire is better end of story. I have used Magmortar before and they never did any good. Electivire has good stats and a great movepool.

As for Electrivire or Magmortar,i like them both,Magmortar has sure better name,but Electrivire looks fancyer,anyway i dont know which is stronger,because i got them form my Pokemon Battle Revolution via mystery gift and i only use them to fill out my pokedex.

Honestly? I prefer Magmortar. I'm not a fan of electric types at the best of times. Magmortar may not have as solid a move pool as Electivire does, but I think there are a few more options when using Magmortar, that's all.

In terms of "whom is a better sweeper", Vire has a better movepool and Speed plus a better ability. Magmortar isn't bad, though.

I've had great success with both of them, but if I had to choose which I would rather have on my team, it would be Electivire.

i go for magmortar because hes awesome... hes good because well... he can use moves that hurt the other pokemon constantly... lava plume burns the foe sometimes, which is good because it also hurts everyone on the field... which is pretty good if you have a pokemon hidden from battle [dig,fly,shadow force etc.]

and plus im a fire fan !! =D fire pokemon have good power...

but... its not how good the pokemon is, its how you use it!! thats why i made it through with only 1 pokemon over lvl 40 up to palkia in my pearl version [ not only with 1 pokemon in my entire collection tho]

I prefer Magmortar for the simple reason that Fire Pokemon are my favorite.

I recommend using Sunny Day, instead.
