I know barely anyone rollerblades anymore and that it died out a long time ago, but I love it. I was just wondering if anyone does it or has seen people doing it lately. I mainly do it for exercise, but me and my friends do get competitive to see who can go the fastest or jump the biggest gap. I've tried skateboarding but it just didn't entertain me as much. And just because I know someone is going to comment about it: I am a STRAIGHT male.

lol why would someone call you gay?
I love rollerbladin.
I remember when I was like 8, there was about a 5 foot drop off from a store, and some cool 15 or so year olds told me to go jump off it. I tried a few times and failed, but I eventually got it and got alot of props for it.
Now, I couldn't grind or nothing, but it was awesome rollerblading.
I may need to get back into it.

No one should question your sexuality if you Rollerblade. Hell, I do it because its a bunch of fun. Rollerblading is a good workout for Cardio and makes you actually move.
Fun + Workouts = Great Time ( Which makes you want to do more :))

I've done it since for over 10 years and love it. I only have girl friends that do it, which is completely fine by me. It's kind of funny when I hit the skate parks I must say. All the younger skater kids look at me like I'm crazy, just be-boppin around the bowls and ramps. What I like best though is just blading out at the pier by the beach. Very peaceful.

I love rollerblading. In fact, in the spring/fall I rollerblade to school every day. Unfortunately I am sort of made fun of it because I hate biking and everybody's like "you don't know how to ride a bike", which I do, I just didn't learn for a while and still prefer blading. I don't really try any tricks or anything. To me it's just really transportation, still a lot of fun though.

I am thinking that rollerblading=rollerskating :x
I like to go skating at a local roller rink where I mostly skate for fun as I am not a fast skater, nor a good extreme skater. I do enjoy their all-night skating which is probably the only time I speed skate and/or trick skate.
Spiner: I would prefer biking over rollerblading although for short distance trips rollarblading does seem to be a better option since you don't have to worry about locking up your bike.

If you are traveling distances I would choose riding a bike. If you are just going to have fun, rollerblading is the way to go. :)

When I still rollerbladed my parents made me wear every single type of pad you can imagine to prevent me from hurting myself. Felt like a total idiot. Then I "lost" some of the pads but kept the wrist pads because those are very important. Once you aren't wearing 20 pounds of pads rollerblading is fun.
Biking is fun but I never do it anymore. I am so used to walking everywhere that riding a bike seems boring to me now. I can actually walk farther with 90 pounds on my back than bike now which is pretty sad once I think about it.

I love rollerblading. I'm a speed skater! Both on rollerblades & iceskates. I'd have to say ice is a little bit more fun now a days though. I still bring out the skates every once in awhile if the weather if alight. I remember once I took my skates 4 miles on hilly bumpy roads to ride to my grandparent and pick up my bike, then had to ride 4 miles back.
That reminds me, there is an indoor tri-athalon that I want to compete in coming up soon, but it looks like I'll end up working part of it rather than competing in it.

Indeed. Rollerblading wasn't invented to be just a guy or gals thing to do, if you enjoy rollerblading, that's great. Sure, it may not be as popular as it once was but plenty of people still do it. I never have tried rollerskating before, but my little brother recently got interested in rollerblading and bought himself some new rollerskates. My girlfriend and a few of her friends rollerskate as well. So if you enjoy doing it, keep it up. Perhaps you may even encourage others to start either rollerblading more or have them try it out the more you continue to do so. And if its a great workout/excersize for you then I see no reason to stop either.
