Strange salad?

Well I assume it's the proper forum for this question.

I was over at a cafe in town here, and I ordered a salad. When it came to me I noticed almost like...little peas in it? I asked if they were peas and the waitress said no and she didn't tell me what they were.

What could this possibly be? They tasted pretty good.

Normally, if I ask what something is and I don't get a response, I either:

a.) Don't eat it, or

b.) Ask a follow-up question! LOL!

What kind of a salad was it? Just a house salad?
