Ain't that many threads about these types of muzik so i'm gonna start one. Right first thing i think that 2007 was Lil Wayne's year, had a great year with some dirty songs, i think T-Pain would probably come second as he burst onto the scene with his album and then some great tracks.

Anyway if there's any new tunes that you people wanna discuss about or want any new RnB or Hip Hop tunes by an artist then just ask me cause i probably know all of them, so name me an artist and i will name you his latest 5 newest tunes, however if you have a brand new tune that you think i haven't heard of then tell me about it here or PM me.

The new Usher single with Young Jeezy (ayyy), "Make Love In This Club" is pretty hot right now. Its got a slow-jam/rap feel to it. I've never been a big Usher fan but I can't get enough of this one.

The newest mixtape from G-Units been released and its pretty hot as well, its called Return Of The Body Snatchers vol. 1. Worth checking out if your a fan. The new G-Unit albums set to drop any month now. I loved first one so I got high hopes...

Lil Wayne was pretty hot in 07, but thats only cause he's pumping out mixtapes like there goin out of style. A lot of his rhymes are pretty ridiculous but I still show him some respect. I still bang The Drought 3, that ones timeless.

Well the answer why there aren't that many threads about them is that this is the music and radio forum. They are not music, simply noise, which is why there aren't any topics here about them.

I'd try to be a little more constructive when posting in these forums if I were you... to each his own...

Warned for trolling. If you want to criticize a genre of music...at least do your credibility the justice of a supporting argument. The point here is not to stamp out differences of opinion...simply comments that are not constructive.

Noise is music. It is called ambient.

Anyways I like some Hip-Hop:

Public Enemy
Lupe Fiasco
Mos Def
Common
Talib Kweli
Jedi Mind Tricks
Aesop Rock
Sage Francis
etc.

Bingo, Jurassic 5, The Beastie Boys, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (The Furious Five is the coolest name ever), Outkast, and Gangstarr are all great artists and deserve respect even if you aren't a fan.

The Beastie Boys are good. As for the others, I don't know much about them except for Outkast, which I have only heard their terrible radio stuff. I mean, I only got into rap this fall so, yeah.

Check out Aquemeni. It's Outkast's best album and in my top 10 all time.

Can't say much about hip-hop this year, still a bit obsessive over Hell Hath No Fury. I did hear great things about the following (that they were the best albums of the year) so if you know anything I'd be interested before I "acquire" them myself

Blue Scholar - Bayani
DJ Jazzy Jeff - The Return of the Magnificent
El-P - Ill Sleep When Youre Dead
Cornel West & BMWMB - Never Forget a Journey of Revelation

And I know Weezy isn't on it. I just can't allow myself to name a mixtape as one of the best hip-hop albums of the year no matter how great it is

How comes Young Buck isn't on the cover of the album?

Anyways just want to let some people know about Konvict Muzik's newest member who's Coldy O Donis, check out his track with Lil Romeo, it's called take you away, pretty cool, looks like he'll be one for the future.

I can't really stand todays HipHop and RnB. I'm pretty much old school. Every time I hear Soulja Boy, I just want to kill myself. I mean what happened to the soul of this genre? From Run DMC to NWA, that was real Rap. It actually meant something rather than todays lame bass beats and stolen/poor lyrics.

Here, here!

I hate to support the status quo, but Tupac and Biggie made rap what it was...

You do realize there are more artists out there than what you hear on the radio? You're lucky I'm not thinking clearly right now, I'm allowing you to get off easy just this once

Just found this, thought Outlaw would enjoy it especially. Its a glossary of every lyrical reference Weezy makes on Tha Drought. http://jcoscarelli.blogspot.com/2007/12/do-i-have-to-spell-it-out-for-you.html

Also curious, what albums you looking forward to this year? For starters I'll list mine (not enough skramz throughout the year to keep me busy. And when I'm bored of that, post-rock, and the punx, hip-hop is the only logical follower. Not counting the past year, an off year which I need to make up for ahora)

The Roots - Rising Down
Rakim - Seven Seals (Probably won't ever be released)
Dr Dre - Detox (If it comes out its gonna blow, but still gonna grab it)
Rhymefest - El Che (losing my interest in Rhymefest but we'll see what he can do)
Royce Da 5`9 - The Revival (Probably my most anticipated)
Saigon - Greatest Story Never Told (would be my most anticipated if I thought it would ever come out)
Papoose - Nacerima Dream
AZ - Undeniable
Raekwon - OBFCLII

Also on the street is that while the Ghostface Killah/MF Doom collab is failing (god MF Doom has gone ****ing nuts lately), apparently GfK is working with Rae for ****ing Cuban Linx II. A travesty it took this long for a Wu reference to be made (yeah last album did suck).

And finally (yeah, I get really bored sometimes), anyone listen to Senim Silla? "Brothers Killed Malcolm" was one of the best songs from last year (shame I just heard it a week ago), you guys should get on that

Yeah thanks for that it was kinda interesting listening to how he mixed da tunes.

It's been quiet a while since there's been a really big blockbuster tune out like for example Kiss Kiss or I Get Money, etc.

I don't get into much hip-hop. I've got a soft spot for Outkast and I still enjoy some Will Smith from time to time (mostly nostalgia).

Daily Operation is a great ****ing album. I mentioned GfK, earlier, his stuff is top-notch. RZA is much better as a producer than lyrically, Nas was good but completely overrated. His stuff isn't ****ing amazing, just...good

Nas is one of the good ones. But if Rakim's album is realeased, I'll definitely get it.

In terms of producing songs i think Akon's doing a really good job, most of the tunes he's got for his Konvict fam are real cold.

i have respect for people like eminem,50,run dmc, people like that...they do what they do for a reason, to them it really is music.....people like t-pain,soulja boy,flo rida, people like that.....what are they doing it for? What does it matter anymore, none of there songs are about anything.

my two cents..people are entitled to like what they like i suppose.

Yeah i know what you mean, but the reason is simple, they just do it for the money.

I think the reason I can't stand a lot of the genre myself is guys like 50 Cent, Sean Paul, etc who come in and rap about stupid topics (or in Paul's case in a barely discernible accent) and make bazillions of dollars and huge names for themselves.

I hate the wave of cookie-cutter rap and R&B. See also Kelis and that God-forsaken "Milkshake" song. That song is atrocious, there is no way it should have gotten any airplay.

I saw Snoop Dogg a few years back, on Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour of all things, and it was nuts to see a sea of white people, not wiggers but bona fide white people, waving their hands and getting down with Snoop. I had a lot of respect for him and his set too, because he had a full backing band behind him. A drummer, a bassist, a guitarist, and of course a couple of DJ's. The drummer even busted out a pretty nifty drum solo during the set. That sort of rap definitely gets respect from me because it involves real music and real musicians.

I definitely think a lot of the real rap pioneers definitely deserve a lot of credit. Run DMC, NWA, Public Enemy, etc. I've always had respect for Jay Z, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop as mentioned, and DMX. Same goes for The Roots (full band FTW) and Outkast.

I dislike alot of rap for the same reasons I dislike a lot of pop punk / screamo bands. Because there is so much of it out there nowadays that's more about the trends and the money than about the art, and I hate it when 'fake' artists succeed while real artists get left behind.

50 Cent is the Future (early mixtape reference)! A lot of people only hear the mainstream 50, In Da Club, P.I.M.P., Just A Lil Bit, which I also love. But it's on the mixtapes where you hear the realest of his work. Problem these days is that rap and hip-hop are being blurred together, and even into other genres. Like "hip-pop" which has been big as of lately. Soulja Boy and Flo Rida fall into that category. As many other genres, rap is evolving.

Who has heard the new Wu-Tang album? I didnt like it very much. Rza really screwed up the production on this one. The ODB tribute "Life Changes" was alright, but most the album was a flop in my eyes.

I dislike 50 cent a lot. He has good beats behind him but I dislike his style and his content. His unreleased stuff may be better but its shard to defend someone who is willing to let garbage be released.
