Sting

I don't know how many fans are here that are Sting fans, but this guy is just great with his songs. Ever since I heard "Desert Rose", I started listening to his songs, and liked them.

"Desert Rose" is a great song, but I think his best work was done with The Police. In general he was lyrically more complicated with The Police, something I appreciate.

I actually really enjoyed his "Brand New Day" album. (That's the one Desert Rose is on). It had a lot of different sounds going on... worked out nicely for him. I'd suggest checking out the entire thing. I do agree with Virus, though I'm not sure his solo stuff can really be compared The Police's catalog.
