I remember them, liked them for a year then they were overplayed on the radio and I got sick of them.

What was that song? The reason? hahaha

I thought The Reason was a good album, but they took like, five steps backward with their last one.

I liked the song they did for the Halo 2 soundtrack. :D

I haven't heard anything from them in a while... they're one of those inoffensive bands that you don't much care for, but you're not bothered if they come up on the radio...

They are, however, appalling live.

I agree completely. Their first album was good enough, but I haven't actively followed them since, and indeed haven't heard anything from them since.

Same here, their first effort was 'okay', but the single "The Reason" did nothing for me and was ironically offensive in it's mediocrity. I didn't bother with any further albums past their first.

Always been forgettable crest-riding nu-metal fluff to me.

WTF d00ds?

My opinion on them can be summed up in one word- "meh".

i'd have to agree but i never heard them on the Radio.
and what song did they do for the Halo 2 soundtrack?

It was called Connected . . . I think it was on the first level you play as the Arbiter.

emerald69
February 10th, 2008, 11:51 PM
you mean it goes like this?
"we are connected, we'll never be alone, we walk togetherrrr forever down down the road"

i'm actually pretty surprised that anybody even listens to them.

^ I'm not sure, you didn't hear lyrics in the game. But it rocked pretty hard . . .

First off, I don't see how anyone could dare call these guys 'nu metal', there was nothing metal about them. There was nothing remotely 'nu metal' about them.

Secondly, I think their first album was actually really good. It was catchy, had some half-decent riffs, and alright lyrics.

...But everything since then has been awful. "The Reason" was without a doubt one of the worst songs I've ever heard, and stuff they've put out past that hasn't been any better.

It's actually pretty damn disappointing, I thought they had some potential, and they sh*t it all away.

I first heard Crawling in the Dark while playing Aggressive Inline. I got their selftitled album shortly after and loved it. Pieces and Running Away are my favourites.

Sadly The Reason was overplayed to the point where I couldn't stand it any longer, thus ruining my enjoyment of that album.

They are, however, appalling live.
They're not too bad. Their cover of Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun was amusing.

i've never heard "Crawling in the Dark" is it from their first album?

The JoZ

Yeah "Crawling in the Dark" was the lead single off their first album.

Good song. If any of their songs should've been overplayed, it should have been this one, not "The Reason".

Ugh, is the The Reason the one with the awful strung-out break-down that didn't flow at all?

"Why does there have to be one philosophy" or something like that? That was just bad.

I did like their first CD but didn't get into them very extensively though.

That line is from Same Direction, but it's the same album as The Reason.

Connected was just an extra song in the soundtrack. You can't find it in the game. I think the song your thinking about is Follow by Incubus. They play the song when you chase the "Heretic" in the Banshees.

Their newest Album Every Man for Himself kinda sucked. The only song I felt was any good was Born to Lead.

i actually liked Every man for himself. it had at least SOME good songs on it.
i really liked born to lead and without a fight.

I only knew like three of their songs - "The Reason," "Did You," and some other pile of steaming cra*. I thought their music was only good for the first 10, maybe twenty times you heard it per song. After that it gets pushed aside with the rest of the many "had been" artists.

Cruel, but in my mind, quite accurate.

I really enjoyed their first album. Songs like "Crawling in the dark", "pieces", "too little too late", "Running Away" and "Remember me" were very catchy and had decent lyrics.

But I didn't like their second album and "The Reason" was amazingly overplayed, I really got sick of it. They performed it on the MTV music awards of 2005 (I think) and were appalling. The only song I like from it is "Same Direction"

Thier third album I didn't bother with

Their third album had a God-awful single called "Inside of You" which was...well it was very juvenile, let's put it that way.

They are apparently writing a fourth album, but after the last two albums have been awful, I can't say I'd expect much out of it. That being said, if they happened to write stuff that was more in the vein of their self-titled CD, I might be interested in it.

It sounded like something a boy band would have done.

No, it sounded worse than the boy bands.

That's how bad a song it was.

Worse than country? :hmm:
*Waits for backlash from Country fans.*

Actually, there is something worse than that song:
Yeah... I hate these guys. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panic%21_At_the_Disco)

Just because they played with Linkin Park means nothing. Snoop Dogg played with Linkin Park, and he's pretty firmly in the "Rap" business.

That being said, yeah, they're almost a modern-day definition of "Selling Out". It's one thing to start playing in a genre that's popular, but from Self-titled to The Reason, well, they chopped their balls off to make money and it worked. The bastards.

You can also by songs online now too. Ooooo... :D

I've only heard a Hoobastank song on the radio once, and that's because the station was giving out free tickets for a concert involving them and two other high profile bands.
