So, A Lucid Mind saw this contest on another site (which I won't name) where you can write your own version of TNA iMPACT!. The winner gets their version on the site's main page and might get another prize.

Stipulations of the contest are as follows:

RULES:

1. Please choose any future edition of Impact to write your script about.

2. You can use the leaked script as a guideline of how to write it, but yours does not have to be exactly like it. Vince Russo writes his scripts that way - if you were the booker/writer, you could write it however you want.

3. Regarding the 2nd rule - although you can write it how you want, it still needs to be very detailed. Do not worry about timing the segments, the lingo and terminology that Vince used in the leak script, or detailing the matches outside of naming the participants and outcomes. Glenn wants to see your order of events from a creative standpoint. You can detail the promo's and backstage segments through bullet points or verbatim - up to you.

4. Only put full script submissions in this thread - do not put partial scripts or simple storyline ideas. They will be deleted. You can make comments and stuff on other submissions if you'd like, but please make sure this thread stays pretty open for the actual submissions.

5. Have fun with it!

(Glenn = Glenn Gilberti (aka Disco Inferno) who is choosing the winner).

Anyway... here's my submission:

Intro: Tenay and West welcome us to the show. The usual pyros go off. Tenay announces that Jim Cornette has scheduled a simulcast between Booker T and Robert Roode. Kaz will be going one on one with Petey Williams. In the main event, the newly re-signed Samoa Joe will be making his in-ring return when he faces Judas Mesias. Tenay alludes to Kurt Angle having a special surprise planned for Christian Cage tonight, as well as much, much more, as TNA iMPACT! kicks off!

1: Match
Awesome Kong (c) versus Velvet Sky

The dominant Kong faces Velvet Sky in a very brief defense of the TNA Knockouts Title. Kong wastes little time in putting Sky to rest after a series of brutal shots and her signature Awesome Bomb. Short match; Sky gets little offense.

Afterwards, Angelina Love drags her lifeless partner out of the ring as Kong poses dominantly. Love gives Sky mouth to mouth which gets the iMPACT! crowd excited. Kong’s post-match celebration is interrupted by ODB, who runs down the ramp and charges Kong. The two manage to exchange shots for a moment. ODB looks as though she’s getting an advantage until security run into the ring. Kong is forced out of the ring by her mysterious Muslim associate, Saed. ODB plays to the crowd as we cut backstage.

2: Segment

Cornette is in the process of talking to Matt Morgan about the simulcast between Booker and Roode when Team 3D barge into his office unannounced. Brother Ray complains about the Motor City Machine Guns and Black Machismo even getting the chance to face them at Against All Odds after the way Johnny Devine defeated Machismo for the X Division Title last week. Devine says they should retire the X Division Title and put him in a hall of fame by himself as the greatest X Division wrestler who ever lived.

Cornette reminds Ray and Devon that Devine only won the title because they interfered. Cornette tells Devine to put his money where his mouth is and defend the title tonight against an X Division competitor. Devine backpedals, but the match is set, and Devine will defend the title later tonight!

3: Segment

Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, and Karen Angle are backstage in their locker room with Jeremy Borash. Angle has a big smile on his face. JB asks Kurt why he’s so happy, and Angle tells him that he’d be happy too if he knew what Angle knew. Kurt tells AJ that after tonight, Tomko will be coming to his side. Once Angle finishes that statement, the door knocks and Angle says “That must be them now.” Angle makes Karen get the door, and in walk two busty models. Angle grins and thanks them for coming. Angle tells AJ that Tomko might be his own man, but even the most independent man loves a good woman or two. Karen rolls her eyes as we cut to a commercial. AJ is, as usual, oblivious to what is happening.

4: Match
Kaz versus Petey Williams

Kazarian has been on a role as of late, but his weird obsession with Black Reign’s rat Misty has reached disturbing levels. Kazarian has the rat dressed in a special outfit, claiming it’s “Marlena’s birthday.” Kaz also has the signature Darkness Falls weapon of Reign with him. Williams has his briefcase with him and seems protective of it after the attempts by Scott Steiner to steal it. Kaz and Petey put on a pretty good match with usual X-Division flair. During the match, Scott Steiner goes to the ring and tries to steal the briefcase.

Black Reign sneaks in from the crowd with a new weapon, an animal restraint device. He puts the black cable around Kaz’s neck and begins to choke him with it as Petey and Steiner fighting over the briefcase distracts the referee. Reign chokes Kaz with the leash for a few seconds before letting go and bailing out of the ring, hiding from the referee’s field of view. Matt Morgan eventually forces Steiner to go backstage and gives Petey his case back. Williams returns to the ring as Kaz clutches his throat. Williams winds Kaz in for the Canadian Destroyer, but Kaz wrenches Petey’s arm and reverses it into the Wave of the Future. Kaz covers, but Black Reign decides to just jump Kaz and attack him, ending the match in DQ.

Matt Morgan enters the ring and yells at Reign to leave Kaz alone. Reign leaves, but not before grabbing Darkness Falls and Misty. Reign consoles his frightened “Arctic Fox.”

5: Segment

Christian Cage is backstage with Crystal Louthan. Cage has a message for Angle, and he tells him that Tomko isn’t going to be swayed by a couple of cheap hookers. Cage reminds Angle that he hasn’t forgotten about him or AJ, and that vengeance will be swift and soon. Christian gets interrupted by James Storm, who is clearly drunk, along with Jackie Moore who’s had a few herself. Cage takes offense to Storm interrupting his interview time. He asks him what he’s doing here, and Storm says he’s looking for Eric Young. Storm asks Crystal if Eric Young had been around. Louthan says she hasn’t seen him, and Storm tells her that he knows what she and Eric have been doing in Cornette’s office. Louthan says, “First Brother Ray and now you? I can’t take this anymore…” Crystal hands Cage the microphone and walks off. Storm says, “I got it all on hidden camera. Sorry bout your damn luck.”

6: Match
Johnny Devine (c) versus X-Division Wrestler

Johnny Devine goes to the ring without Ray and Devon. He seems more confident than earlier now, saying he can kick any X Division wrestler’s ass. Devine’s shocked as Shark Boy makes his way to the ring, complete with SCSA-style vest and mannerisms. Shark Boy and Devine go back and forth for the X Title. Shark Boy nearly has Devine beaten and is ready to give him a Stunner, but Team 3D interfere. The Motor City Machine Guns and Black Machismo run in for the save and send Team 3D and Johnny Devine reeling. Machismo gets on the stick and tells 3D and Devine that until now, they’ve been messing with fun-loving Black Machismo. But now, they’re going to face a pissed off Jay Lethal. So Cal Val cheers Lethal on.

7: Segment

After a commercial, Jim Cornette is in the ring. Booker and Robert Roode are on the video screen in a split-screen fashion for the simulcast. Booker is at home with his wife Sharmell a few rooms away. He says he doesn’t want her to hear what he’s about to say to Robert Roode. Roode reminds Booker that it’s his fault that Sharmell got her jaw broken. Payton Banks and Roode ride Booker for being stupid enough to let Sharmell in the ring in the first place. Booker tells Roode that when he came to TNA, he didn’t want to start any drama. But now, Roode’s made it personal, and Booker is going to uncover some buried feelings of hatred from his days on the streets. He’s going to channel every gang war, every murder, every act of violence he’s ever seen or been a part of, and he’s going to make Robert Roode pay for what he’s done to Sharmell. Roode ends with a queasy expression on his face, ordering Payton Banks to get him some antacid.

8: Match
Kip James versus Lance Hoyt

Before the match, James says briefly that since BG and his old man are going after the tag titles, he’s going to be focusing on his singles career. Hoyt and James put on a brief match before Jimmy Rave and Christy Hemme help Hoyt beat Kip (Rave hits James in the head with the guitar hero guitar before Hoyt hits James with the big boot for the win). Afterwards, Kip throws a temper tantrum as he goes backstage. The Rock N Rave Infection perform about fifteen or twenty seconds of awful rock music in the ring before we cut away to commercial.

9: Segment

Kurt Angle is in the ring with Karen and AJ and the two “women of questionable moral practices.” Angle asks Tomko to come out, and he does. Kurt tells Tomko that he’s sorry and wants to make amends. He offers Tomko the two women, while Tomko seems uninterested. Angle asks Tomko, “What are you, a cupcake? A fruit? What’s the matter with you? These women are professional strippers, just like your wife…” Tomko and Angle engage in a brawl as Tomko kicks Angle’s ass. Karen orders AJ to attack Tomko, but Styles doesn’t know whose side to choose. Security eventually intervenes before AJ can make a decision. Christian Cage watches from one of the ramps, laughing his head off.

10: Main Event
Samoa Joe versus Judas Mesias

Joe returns to in-ring action against the dangerous Judas Mesias. Mitchell helps Mesias remain focused during the match. Joe and Judas go back and forth for several minutes before Joe finishes off Mesias with the Muscle Buster for the three count. Mitchell orders Mesias back to his feet, and Mesias eerily returns and attacks Joe from behind. Mesias takes Joe out with several weapon shots by Mitchell’s cane. Kevin Nash tries to intervene, but Mesias fights him off due to his age. Abyss finally shows up, but Mesias and Mitchell leave the ring by the time Abyss enters. Abyss gets on the mic and issues a challenge to Mesias for Against All Odds… Barbed Wire Massacre!

I threw it together in about 30-40 minutes. A Lucid Mind came up with the making out after the match and the specific use of the guitar hero guitar as a weapon. Other than that, it's just stuff I threw together based off their current angles. The fact you had to use guys who are currently active with current feuds and stuff, on one hand, is good because real wrestling has those sorts of limitations. Anyone can be a great booker if they can choose any wrestlers under any circumstances. But on the other hand, it stifles people creatively. I saw some really awful submissions on this site, and I was hoping maybe some people would fantasy book some wrestling events on here... It doesn't have to be iMPACT! Maybe we could have a contest where people fantasy book an episode of Raw, Smackdown!, ECW, or iMPACT!, depending on their choice, and we have people pick winners? Maybe make it a monthly thing...

But anyway, hope you enjoyed my half-assed edition of TNA iMPACT!. :P

Why does my name get dragged in the mud all the time?

I like this show. I was just questioning...has TNA not offically challenged Abyss/Judias to the Barbwire match?

That was pretty good. I like the idea of a Barbed Wire Massacre at AAO. By the way, big ups on the sig!

Also, I tried to write it "true to life" for TNA. I could've done off the wall stuff, or more of a traditional-minded product, or took it in a different direction. But you were supposed to write a TNA show using TNA's current angles and TNA's current wrestlers, TNA this and that. I figured I should probably stick to a realistic show for them instead of doing what a lot of people did, which was "Samoa Joe wins the TNA Title, Motor City Machine Guns win the TNA Tag Titles, AJ Styles wins the TNA X Title" etc.

Very realistic, and up to TNA's booking. Maybe even better.

Dean, you seriously need a job with either TNA or WWE, as that is better than both of their writers have done.

It's kind of sad because I was trying to make it as realistic to TNA's product as possible, lol. I think I'm capable of coming up with more creative gimmicks and match endings and whatnot. But I think that's a pretty realistic show for TNA, and Glenn said, "Book iMPACT!" so there it is...

Hmm. I would try to get a job as a writer, but it's a pretty difficult business to get into. WWE wants you to have experience writing sitcoms for X number of years, and TNA goes with guys who already have a ton of experience and the history that shows they're capable of doing it.

It's one of those, "You can't get a job without experience, but you can't get experience without a job" situations.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, we were limited to ten segments. Or maybe I did mention it. I just wanted to specify that we had to do ten segments, and you could only really do promo or match. It wasn't like actually booking the real thing, unfortunately. :(
