I'm kind of curious to know what kind of games everyone in here has...

Here's mine(not in any specific order):
1: Super Mario Bros. 3
2: Super Mario Bros.
3: Rad Racer
4: The Adventures Of Bayou Billy(HARD!!)
5: Golf
6: Wrath Of The Black Manta
7: World Class Track Meet(I used to love that game because of the Power Pad. I think I burned thousands of calories in those days, but it does not work anymore :()
8: Duck Tales
9: Double Dagon

They may not be a lot, but I'm happy with what I got.

I don't really feel like naming all of them. In count I have 487 NES games, so odds are if you name one, I have it.

the ones I remember are Yo Noid, Captain Skyhawk, Batman: Return of the Joker, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, ... can't remember much more.

How the hell did you manage to get a collection of more than 400 NES games?

Zelden
January 27th, 2008, 09:21 PM
I think it's becoming a pretty common thing. A lot of the regulars to this forum have hundreds of nes games in their collection. I, personally, am astounded at how someone could collect that many of anything, but I am more than jealous of it regardless.

I don't have them with me at the moment, but from what I can remember:

Fester's quest
Pitfall
Back to the future
Duck hunt/track and field/super mario bros (have the power pad, no flash gun)
the other generic mario games
rc pro am
empire strikes back
a couple of mega man games
donkey kong classics
duck tails
Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers

That's all that I can remember.

Pochitos
January 27th, 2008, 09:24 PM
I noticed that some of you mention the word "remember".
I actually, still, own my games, and I play still play them. I thought some of you did too.

Zelden
January 27th, 2008, 10:35 PM
Well, of course I play them, but it isn't like I play them as much as I do my 360. Currently, I'm at college and have opted to leave some of my earlier systems at home since I figured they would take up a lot of space and look a bit tacky. The games I like to play the most when I get a chance are the megaman games and duck tails.

But I do think that would be a big drawback of having hundreds of nes games, there just wouldn't be enough time to play them all.

cloud321
January 28th, 2008, 12:19 AM
There's plenty of time to play them, a lot of them have like 4 levels of game play, others have more but they are still short.

DungeonMan
January 28th, 2008, 04:47 PM
Well, I only have about 35 games, but I 'm still trying to get a large amount like some of the guys in this forum. Some of the more standout games I own are:-Super Mario Bros 1,2 and 3 -Final Fantasy -Dragon Warrior
-TMNT 1 and 2 -Adventures of Bayou Billy(hard is an understatement)
-Zelda 1 and 2 -Maniac Mansion -Blades of Steel

There's lots more though. I'd probably have more but I collect all sorts of games such as Snes, Genesis, Dreamcast, N64, Playstation 1, and even Neo Geo Pocket. However like Zelden had said, I haven't had a lot of time to play many of my games. In fact, I own some games that I have never played in my life(mostly for collection purposes, I also convince myself that I will surely play them some day)!

I guess there just aren't many places around here that sell 'em, but I guess I don't really go into pawn shops or thrift stores either.

I remember once seeing a couple at a garage sale, but I didn't really have an interest in them at the time. I have started now with trying to find some games I remember that carry some nostalgia.

I have around 650 games and the Power Set complete in box from when I bought it in 1989. It would make more sense to list the games I dont have instead of the ones I do. I have all of them except the really rare and expensive ones like Flintstones 2, Little Samson, Panesian porn games, Secret Scout, but I dont remember if I have Snow Brothers or not. Ive been out of my country for a few years now, when I get back I'm gonna get back into playing and collecting now that Ive saved some money.

So, I went out yesterday morning to try to find some old video games, and it was pretty much a total failure.

The only thing that I found was Mario Kart 64. The only problem was that the people wanted to sell the system and 5 other games for 60$. Considering this money was just going to the 6 year old kid, I thought it to be priced a bit high.

I looked at about 10 more sales after this and they all had nothing but baby sh*t. It was hot, I was tired, and I used a 1/4th a tank of gas. A very disappointing day.

I actually went to a garage sale today and got some really good games like Romance of the Three Kingdoms II($10), and YS III($7), both for Genesis, as well as Donkey kong for the ColecoVision(free cuz i bought the sega games). Oh and also Game and watch gallery 4 for gba($5 cuz i asked him to cut it from $10)

He also had Mario Paint but I didn't have enough. I only found this by looking in the newspaper, as it was the only garage sale displayed that said video games. I had to bike pretty far to get it too.

Wow, back in the day (before used game stores) I used to have to check the newspaper like you did. I'd bike my butt off at 8:00 am, and All the used games would be sold already. Consider yourself pretty lucky.

I don't have an exact count on mine anymore, but I have about 400 or so. I'll post a list sometime, it just takes a while, lol.

I got my first nes (which I still have) in '85. I didn't really get serious about collecting until about ten years ago, but I just starting buying games any time I could get a good deal on them. I have about $2000 invested in my collection, but it is worth several times that much, so I guess it is a good investment.I have some unopened games, some factory misprints, and around 50 or so that are complete with box, booklet, inserts, etc.I have unopened copies of Mario Is Missing, Championship Pool, Krazy Kreatures, Quattro Sports, and a couple of others.

Guys, despite how it may sound, I'm not trying to brag. I have spent almost ten years and nearly a thousand dollars putting this collection together.I live in Memphis, Tn and have traveled as far as Florida to find a few of these games. I only buy games that I can get below market value, and I got a lot of my rare games before nes collecting became popular, so they were not as valuable as they are now.I would love to help anyone out that I can, so if you are looking for a particular game, let me know and I will see if I can find it for you. There are still a few stores in Memphis that sell rare nes games cheap, and I would like to help any fellow collectors in any way that I can.

Nice.

Due to an indiscretion (read as: 9-year-old Holly selling almost ALL her NES games to GameStop for pennies on the game) I only have two left - Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: Adventure of Link. Got the box and all for both of them, though.

I got a couple of new games today. I got Galactic Crusader ( a little weathered, but rare enough to be worth it until I can find a better copy), and a complete copy of Rainbow Islands.I only paid $7.95 for it and didn't know it was complete until I got to the counter, so it was a good surprise.

I got a few more things for my collection today. I got Magician, Dragon Strike, Alfred Chicken, and I got the boxes for Hatris, Pool of Radiance, and Heroes of the Lance. I got a copy of Bible Adventures with the black cartridge( already have it in blue). I also got extra copies of Cowboy Kid, Dudes With Attitude, and Metal Fighter.I probably will sell those or trade them for something I need later.

I'll have to go through mine when I get home from work, I don't know how many I have off the top of my head, but I do know I'm missing a bunch of my favorites from when I was a child. My brother took all those and I've started my own small collection, but haven't had much time or money to make it large.

You gotta draw the line somewhere, and that's a good place to draw it.

I need to write myself a note to get me to remember to post my list when I get home...this is the third time I'm saying that now.

Well I live next to a Pawn Shop, so I often get good NES game deals.

Ah, well that sounds great, how large of a collection do Pawn shops normally have? I've never actually been to one in search of NES games before.

DungeonMan

PAwn shops can vary with the kind of selection they offer. I've seen pawn shops with no games that date before dreamcast. Then I've seen other pawn shops that have an excellent selection of older games like sega and nes. Yard sales can be a blessing in the summer and spring, and even a few thrift stores can have you walking away happy. I remember always checking one thift store for games and one day I got 2 packages of 10 nes games for 10 bucks each!!! One had FF1 and a few other good names then the second had yoshi, dr mario, and tetris all in the one bag! I was soo happy. If there are any flea markets around your area I suggest you check those out too. They know the value of a good ol' snes game. Omg I miss ranting on on this site, it's been a while since I've seen these forum walls.

By the way Alu, are you the new moderator for nes?

Well I guess "new" is a word that works. I've been the mod of here since I found out it was modless a couple months ago.

So yes, I am the newest mod of this, and all the other Past Generation forums.

I guess I'll have to check out some thrift stores and whatnot, living in the city now means that I'll probably see them a lot more often than I would have in the suburbs.

That's kool that you took over the Past Generations forums. I only really like the older systems. And unfortunately some of the older generation forums don't get too much traffic. I unfortunately haven't even posted in a long time, but that's just because of school. Anyway, I gotta go gather up my nes games and post'em see how close I come to some of these guys!
