I just read something interesting in the Qur'ran, Jesus once said that we must follow what he preached, but once someone called Ahmad, (or Muhammad, he had many names) came and preached, we must chage our religion to Islam.

If one is uninformed of Islam, and still following the correct branches of Jewish, and Christianity, they will enter Paradise, but once they hear of Islam, they must embrace it. Other prophets, like Moses, also said things similiar to this.

And about the "correct" branch of Jewish and Christianity, it's the fact that there is no god but allah, and we must not associate anything with him.
This also shows, Jesus is not the son of god, which he explained himself, nor is he nor the angel Gabriel divine in any manner.

You're going to have to be a bit more specific as to where to find the passage. I know the Koran I had only had the English translations of the title chapters, and that's also all I can find online.

After what happened on 9/11, and considering Mohammed's not-so-stellar personal life, I think we can all rest assured that Islam will never be embraced by the majority of people (religious and nonreligious) in the West. Maybe if 9/11 never happened, but most people nowadays have a certain idea in their minds whenever they think of a Muslim. It's funny, though. Ten years ago most people barely even knew what a Muslim was. Things have changed...

Well, 9/11 wasn't done by real muslims, but rather insane, misinformed extremists...

And most people know this. However, when you go half a decade only seeing the word "Muslim" being associated with pajama wearing sociopaths brandishing AK-47's and threatening to set the world on fire, the fact that the vast majority of those that call themselves Muslims are just decent, ordinary people becomes more of a vague idea than a hard reality.

Adrien wasn't making an accusation. He was just stating that, in practice, appearance is often more influential than truth. 9/11 did harm to everyone of every ideal in the Muslim world: extreme, middle, and liberal.

And then there's the much more complicated nature of some aspects of Mohammed's personal life (I believe everyone knows what in particular I'm talking about here). On the web alone one can find both fundamentalist Christian and militant atheist alike relentlessly roasting Mohammed because of a few seemingly personal foibles on his part (although they I'm sure would term them fatal character flaws).

Can't very well let anyone else have a historically provable savior that did more for reformation and the good of his people than your historically questionable one during their respective lifetimes, can you?

Interesting idea for a thread...

I guess I'm a bit slow but I'm not 100% sure what exactly you are talking about. I have a pretty good idea but I'd rather you confirm it first before I try to argue it.

They mostly concern his career as a warlord and more particularly his marriage life (Aisha's case being the most troubling).
