View Full Version : Disc problems due to AR?

I borrowed my friend's AR (Gamecube) a while ago, and used it in some of my games. A while after returning it, I noticed that some of my games were having disc-reading errors in the same spot, and they were games that would never screw up or freeze. I'm starting to suspect that my friend's AR is to blame, but I couldn't be certain. Does anyone know if AR does in fact cause problems with discs? Remember, this is for the Gamecube.

I've heard of memory cards being messed up but not the actual disc. I don't see how that could work. Saved games, yes, but not that.

Yeah I also had a memory card corruption issue with SSBM but I somehow reversed it to normal operation.

I played Super Smash Brothers Melee with codes alot and it never messed with my memory card up. It could be the codes you may have used. That may be the case but, NEVER use the Debug Code from Sonic Adventure DX with Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. It screws up the game COMPLETELY.

*Phew!* That was an extremely close call. I used AR on both games and was about to go and find debug codes for it when I decided I should give the AR back to my friend. I'm assuming that you used the debug codes then?

Ive had a simillar problem..... cuz i had an AR for gamecube too. and i noticed that for some reason, my gamecube would have trouble reading most of my games. Then again, my gamecube was about 5 years old, so maybe that was why. However I have a Wii now, so i got to get rid of my non-cooperative gamecube.
