Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is a masterpiece (if you like Silent Hill kind of games, or Lovecraft's writing)
Killer 7 - Great game, not for everyone, though.
Super Mario Sunshine - A great classic. Not as good as the other Mario games, though.
Resident Evil 1 - Must have remake.
Resident Evil 4 - Greatest.Game.Ever
F-Zero GX - Great racing game.

Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart: Double Dash are must have games.

If you like Star Wars, I highly recommend Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader and the Lego Star Wars games. Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike isn't as good as RS2, but it's a good game, too.

If you like Sonic the Hedgehog, then pick up Sonic Adventure: DX, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Sonic Mega Collection, and Sonic Gems Collection. (The other Sonic games aren't as good.)

Looking at a site of top rated games, the ones there that haven't been mentioned yet and interest me are.

Super Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Viewtiful Joe
Mario Power Tennis
Tales of Symphonia
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Baten Kaitos
Metal Gear Solid - Twin Snakes
Day of Reckoning 1+2 (if you're into wrestling)

I just opened my games cupboard and I'm only missing three of those because I haven't been able to find boxed versions yet.

Super Smash Brothers Melee is a must have for the Game Cube, it's a good 7 years old and I still play it with my friends. Fun for competitive and casual play, you won't regret getting this game at all.

Yeah, Melee is a great game. I just played about an hour straight with my friends on it. The game has one of the best multiplayer functions of all of the games. If you have a Wii, I would go with Brawl though, seeing as it has the same things as Melee and alot more.

MELEE!!! i still own my original copy from its original release date, have the case book and all, and i will cry if anything happens to it... i would also suggest Sonic Adventure 2 Battle or Custom Robo, which will be very hard to find in the US, it didnt get very big, but was a good game.

I would go with Brawl though, seeing as it has the same things as Melee and alot more.

i dont want to start anything big with this statement, but i really need to differ with you on this. Brawl does not contain what melee has. in brawl, you cant wave dash, L cancel, the air dodge isnt as effective, and you cant tech grab. all these techniques are what makes Melee so hard to master. anybody can play brawl, but melee is an art. if you dont know what any of these techniques listed are, then: 1. that is why you like brawl more, and 2. go look them up on youtube, or on a Melee forum. all of the u.s.a. tournament finalists agree that brawl doesnt stand up to melee, which is easy to realize, because it is impossible to be better then perfection. HOWEVER, I AM NOT DOWNING BRAWL. i found brawl to be fun, i like the characters in it, and i love the graphics and the new levels, but i dont like the smash ball thing, and i dont like the inability to have advanced techniques. if Brawl was made more closely to melee, it would be much better, but, as i said, Melee>Brawl... which was very disappointing to me, i waited for an entire year, checking the brawl website everyweek for updates on progress, just to be let down as compared to melee...

The characters aren't balanced in Melee (or in most fighting games in general), so I wouldn't say that the game is perfect. I know it's mostly with tournament level players, but to be able to pick any character and have the same chance of winning is pretty important.

Melee is seen as a must-have though as it's one of the best (if not the best) games on the GC, even if you have Brawl.

A game that has hilarious videos and good gameplay is Tak: The great Juju Challenge. it is better than the other Tak games and will have you rolling on the floor. If you can find it get it.

I actually got my 'cube in a pack that consisted of the 'Cube + Melee, a free controller and a free game. I was supposed to get Wind Waker, but they ran out of copies and I got Robots instead.

it was a choice between Tak and Robots. I chose the former.

i know this is true as well, but that is why i feel that melee is better, if you can master a harder to use character in it, it can prove to be greatly helpful. yes they are slightly unbalanced, but that is what makes it a harder game to play. aside from the character balance, more of what i meant was the gameplay style in melee, they got rid of a lot of the techniques melee had. i am thinking of starting a thread about all of this in the wii section soon. i really dont want to start any arguements, but i want to voice an opinion that myself and other tournament level melee players have about the differences. this thread isnt the place to have that, and i am sorry about posting it here.

If you're going to discuss that, go to the Super Smash Bros. forum. There's even a thread already there that discusses that very issue.

Luigi's mansion was pretty good too.(GRAMMAR NAZI STRIKES AGAIN!)

Yeah, it was pretty good, but I didn't like the sense that I wasn't as free to move around. It had mostly small areas.
