View Full Version : Best Survivor Series Team Ever Assembled
Andre the Giant

Thought we could have some fun with this one. I was watching some old PPVs and thought to myself as to which Survivor Series team is the best ever assembled? Let's go with two simple rules: 1) has to be a SS-type elimination match (regardless of number of teammates) 2) has to be at the Survivor Series PPV itself.
My personal choice goes allllllll the way back to the first one in 1987. I like the team Andre the Giant had assembled. There was of course Andre, there was King Kong Bundy, the One Man Gang, Ravishing Rick Rude and the Natural Butch Reed. That team had to be about 3/4 of a ton. And not to mention that team is just loaded, especially in terms of size. They had Bundy and the Gang cheaply job out to Bigelow, but I really don't see this team losing to too many others.

I liked DX, Hardys, and CM Punk from last year. I can't remember Rated RKO's team though. I remember liking them too though.

I remember Hogan had a team back, when. Can't remember who exactly, but it had Jake Roberts and he wouldn't leave Hogan alone when he got eliminated.

DX's team last year was pretty flawless, and yeah Rated RKO's was good just sadly WWE wasted the match entirely, The team was Edge, Orton, Knox, Nitro and Helms.

Team DX from 2006 and Team Orton (Orton, Jericho, Benoit and Maven) from 2004 were my two personal favs.

I liked Team Orton '04 aswell. I didn't really care to much for Team DX,but Team Rated RKO was a fav.

I think what made Team Orton so special, and the match itself special as well, was that the winners got to control RAW for almost a month.

I really liked Team DX a lot. Hard not to like them considering who all was on board but that really was a good idea. I'll have to go and look around for some other teams to refresh my memory. This is one annual event that I can't recall quite as vividly.

The Radicalz (Benoit, Eddie, Malenko & Saturn)
Team DX (Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Hardyz & CM Punk)
Team Alliance (Austin, Angle, Booker T, RVD & Shane)
Team WWF (Rock, Jericho, Undertaker, Kane, Big Show)
Those are the four that come to mind for me.

I pretty much echo that opinion, good sir.
I was never a major fan of Survivor Series, just as I'm not really a huge fan of Royal Rumble. Something about multi-man matches...

Off the top of my head, I'll take the same teams as TD, minus Team DX. It's a good team, but not all great, IMO.

You didn't miss anything, really. The team itself is great, but the actual match was just OK. I was at that show in person, and I was excited to see it then, but it wasn't all that great looking back at it.

Don't take this as an insult, just an observation. I've noticed that everyone's team comes from the last 10 years or so and I believe mine was the only one from a by-gone era. I think I saw one other too. Have most of you just gotten into wrestling? Absolutely nothing wrong with it of course. People can blast me for not knowing my 70s wrestling, lol.

I never saw the Radicalz, but that team sounds stacked. If only Saturn was pushed right in the WWE. He was a good wrestler.

Both teams from the SS'01 match. So much star power.

Actually, I liked Andre's 88 team more: Andre, Rude, Harley Race, Mr. Perfect, and Dino Bravo.
My personal fave is a much newer one, though: Team Smackdown 2005. Batista, Rey, JBL, Lashley, and Orton.

I've only really been following wrestling since about '95 or so, before that it was an on & off thing that I didn't pay much attention to. Mind you, what I did see I pretty much forget, seeing as when I started watching wrestling I was what, like 9? Even most of the stuff from that time is pretty much a blur. Just looking back at the old school matches, I've seen some and I just preferred the generation of wrestling I watched. Maybe it was because it's what I actually grew up with.

I was watching back when SS first started, but I was only around 4 or 5 so my memory is kinda cloudy. I know there are some great teams from then, but I'm drawing a blank. I am interested, though, so I'll probably look around later.

I liked the All-Americans team in 1993, it was Lex Luger, Undertaker and The Steiner Brothers. Another favorite of mine was the 1999 team of the Dudley Boyz and the APA, where they took on D'Lo Brown, Godfather and the Headbangers. From the same PPV, Edge & Christian teamed with The Hardyz, that was also a nice team
