View Full Version : What new hold items do you want?

Make up a hold item and post it here!
I like the idea of Boxing Gloves, which raise the power of all Physical moves by 80, but raise PP usage.
BTW, I wasn't sure if this was appropriate or not, but if you feel this topic is SPAM, feel free to close it.

80 is a little rediculous
maybe like 20-30
WER
December 30th, 2007, 04:42 PM
Yeah, there's no way that'll happen. Imagine a 400 power Close Combat coming from Heracross.
I liked the idea of the Flame/Toxic Orb. A Shock Orb should definitely get included in the next game (Paralyzes all but Ground Types and Volt Absorbers, and Pokemon with Volt Absorb get 1/8 healing per turn).

I'd like something that leeches 1/16th of your HP for a 50% Defense and SDef boost. That sounds kinda cool; like Flame Orb Milotic without the suck.
I'd also like Wide Lens to be a 20% boost so its actually useful (Stone Edge hitting .8 * 1.2 = .96, Focus Blast hitting 84%, etc) and makes up for no Life Orb.

ive always liked the thought of an item that lowers attack power by 25-50%, but makes them unable 2 miss.

What about the possibility of choice items for the two defenses?
Chris!
December 30th, 2007, 10:36 PM
Well, that's the idea behind the life-suck thing. I'd want to switch moves if I were a wall.

What about an item that raises att and speed by 1.5 allows you to use all moves but cuts PP in half.
Ninty.

How about rare drink? It could increase the EVs of every stat by 10 when used!
SuperSimon
December 31st, 2007, 12:33 AM
but thats pretty pointless name a pokemon who has evs in all there stats
Ninty.
December 31st, 2007, 12:42 AM
It only works on pokémon who have room for it, like vitamins, which give 10 EVS in the stat it's increasing.
What about an item that raises att and speed by 1.5 allows you to use all moves but cuts PP in half.
In HALF? PP usge raised is ok, but HALVED? For a measly 1.5?
I'd rather use STAB.
SuperSimon
December 31st, 2007, 12:42 AM
yes but you dont give evs to every stat on any pokemon its a pointless item

Yeah, I think maybe that all stats would be worth the PP cut.

Thats almost 2 good though. Think of something like a salamence. With the item, all its stats would soar over 400 (crushing most every pokemon). This given 2 him only 4 being under the pressure ability? It'd sweep easily before it ran out of PP.
SuperSimon
December 31st, 2007, 01:07 PM
no pressure is not severe it would have to cut pp by alot though
Chris!
December 31st, 2007, 01:23 PM
Then again, said Salamence would have 4 Draco Meteors (2 against the right switch-ins).
I like the idea of boosting Attack or SAtk or Speed, but cutting both Defenses is half. Opposite for Defense boosts (cough Blissey cough)

I like these,
1- Dragon Jewel Lens
2- Dragon Jewel Claw
1- decreases Power of all Dragon-Type Non-Physical moves by 10% and make sure they never miss, and causes a certain pokémon to evolve when traded (like Deepsea Scale)
2- Increases power of all Dragon-Type Physical moves by 40%, but decreases accuracy by 20%, and causes a certain pokémon to evolve when traded (like deepseatooth

What about a suprise item, kinda like present move w/ delibird?
it could heal you, or hurt you. It could raise a/some stat(s), or decrease stats.
I think it would be interesting.
Ninty.
December 31st, 2007, 05:03 PM
Or
Mixture orb
Raises a certain stat, hurts or heals you, depending on type(s)
Cyanide Poison
Doubles power of Poison, but lowers power of all other attacks.
Also increases chance of poisoning, and the poison always intensifies, like Toxic.
gymclasshero66
December 31st, 2007, 05:32 PM
that cyanide poisen is a good idea. Id make poisen types somewhat useful offensively in the battle environment (finally!).

Aramageddon
Increases power of self-destruct by 1,000
but causes all pokémon in party except for weakest to faint, and weakest only has 1 hp left
(becomes a steel ball after use)

Magnet Ball - Catches Electric and Steel types easily
Spiritual Ball - Catches Psychic and Ghost types easily
Temperature Ball - Catches Fire and Ice types easily
Shiny Spoon - Increases the Sp. Atk. of Kadabra or Alakazam by 1.5x

Why would you lose a maximum of 4 pokemon and have the 5th at 1HP for one kill. Unless its holding focus sash ect.
With the weakest what if there all Lv 100?
Even if you hade one other pokemon why would you leve yourself with just one pokemon and have it with 1HP? The side effect is not worth the power boost.

Perhaps you are a level 60 poké fighting a level 100, and he's the last one in their party. Also, with good use of max revives, you can easily get up again if it wasn't.
Perhaps, depending on the amount of pokés you sacrifice, the higher the power. you can also sacrifice the last poké, but it will always be left with 1 HP. All the moves that they have will be rounded down, and added to the full power. Also, armageddon ensures that all your attacks will go last. Other than explosion.

Shiny Spoon would be WAY overpowered. You'd 2HKO a Blissey and wouldn't be locked in to Focus Blast.

Way too much. Perhaps increasing power of all physic moves by 20%?
Spear of Legends, 10% chance of a move hitting everyone in opponents party, instead of just the one in the field. Also lowers accuracy of Special moves by 20% Also, 5% of HKOing the current foe. also, 20% chance of poké who is using it to damage itslef with the same move, like confusion. Very complicated item.
EDIT: Difference between itself and consusion, is that unlike confusion, it doesn't simply use the attack of the poké for how much damage, but rather the defense, attack of poké, and power of the move used, and effects of move apply.
Chris!
January 2nd, 2008, 12:37 PM
That would be, uh, TwistedSpoon. It boosts Psychic moves 20% this gen.
I think Alakazam needs something to guard against Pursuit. I mean it's supposed to be badass and be all "lol I 2HKO blissey bitch!" but then Weaville switches in and you die, crying in extreme pain. Then again, Gengar doesn't have anything to do so either and it fares alright.

There is such an item. It's called a Colbur Berry.

What about sand paper?
increases the power of all spike moves [spikes, spike cannon etc.] by 30% or something.
Or quick wick?
Lets all cannon/missile moves [pin missile, spike cannon, icicle cannon etc.] go first?
Or, Blindfold?
Cuts accuracy in half to double power of foucs moves [Focus blast/punch/energy].
sand paper to sharpen the spikes.
quick wick to burn faster to get the cannon moves off faster.
blindfold to increase concentration, cos you think more when you can't see.

I wanted a spoon item for just Kadabra and Alakazam, because they actually hold spoons in battle, while Farfetch'd has Stick, and Marowak has Thick Club.

January 3rd, 2008, 03:36 PM
they have twisted spoon which ups attack i think.
Shur'tugal

Actually the twisted spoon raises the power of psychic moves by 10%. So its not that good.

I like the idea of a Drowsy Orb. Like the Flame and Toxic Orbs, but one that induces sleep. It would be great for anyone wanting to run Sleep Talk without Rest, and also doesn't want other statuses on their pokemon. Good for Guts users too.

What pokemon has guts and sleep talk/snore?

January 3rd, 2008, 06:20 PM
Hell Horn - Increases attack of all pokés with horns by 1.5
Recorder - All moves used in succession get more powerful every turn, but also lose accuracy.
Comfy Coat - Increases defense and Sp. Defense of non-ice pokés in icy places, or when facing an ice-type poké.
Minarell Berry - Increases all stats.
Yumm Berry - Restores 1/2 HP
Delshiss Berry - Restores 3/4 HP
Dark Potion - Increases power of Dark moves when drunk. (Turns off when poké is withdrawn)
Raw Berry - Cuts 1/16 HP every turn, but increases power of moves by 10 every turn. Stops after 15 raises. (restoring HP negates effects)

Actually all the pokemon that have Guts can learn Sleep Talk (though I haven't checked pre-evos).

Actually the twisted spoon raises the power of psychic moves by 10%. So its not that good.
In DP they raised the one-type boosters to 20%, so occasionally (read: if you're a Porygon-Z who hates Life Orb) they are actually fairly solid.
I actually think that the item selection we have is fairly balanced.

Ever hear of the Metronome item? It increases power as the move gets used in succession, but doesn't lose any accuracy
Those berries are way too overpowered, with the health restoring ones, there should be at least some negative point to it, like 1/2 all stats for the remainder of the battle, even if they switch out etc. 3/4 health restoration is WAY to cheap, esp on a pokemon like Blissey.
I would like an item that makes it easier to get high IVs :tease: And an action replay does not count!
I would also like an item that moves all the spikes/toxic spikes/stealth rocks that are on your side of the field to your opponents side of the field, although that would probably be better suited as a move :-\

What about a Rebounder say?
Reflects one quater damage of all attacks where things are thrown/shot at the foe (bullet seed/spike cannon/bone club etc.).
Or maybe a Charger?
lets pokemon which have used a move that needs to be recharged after make another move on the next turn (giga impact/hydro cannon etc), but make the pokemon strike last.
Or copper wire?
when given to a pokemon that knows an electric move. when the move is used, it ups electricities power by 5% first turn, the 10% scond turn, then25% third turn. (That's 5% boost, another 5%, and the 15% boost. 25% in all.)
Imagine that: Magnezone's massive sp.att + 120 sp.att with thunder + 60 STAB + 25% boost to that = Thunder at 225 power!!! wow
Maybe Gasoline?
when given to a fire poke, on the first turn of battle, it ups firepower 25%, the it decreases turn by turn by 5/10% until no boost remains . recharges after battle is finished.
Shur'tugal
January 4th, 2008, 05:24 PM
The Gasoline shouldn't lower the moves power after it raised it. It should just stop working after 8 turns or so.
The first one should be a move.
Constantine
January 4th, 2008, 06:17 PM
yeah, but when gasoline is burned, it has a big flame first then the flame get smaller and smaller as some gas burns away.

Actually the twisted spoon raises the power of psychic moves by 10%. So its not that good. But that works on any Pokémon with a Psychic type attack. I want a spoon item that only works for Kadabra and Alakazam.

Gas Cannister?
Increases fire power by 50%, but makes the user faint after 5 turns because it explodes. Injures opponents pokemon if it uses a physical attack on the 5th turn because of the explosion.
Shur'tugal
January 5th, 2008, 06:04 PM
Maybe when it explodes the foe should loose 1/2 the HP it has.

About the berries, they could be super-rare berries.
Virtual Reality Mechanism
Leaves a Virtual Cage in your bag when a PorygonZ holding it is traded, also evolves it to PorygonVi.
Virtual Grid
Causes all moves except for Ultra-Effective moves to miss you, and Causes all your moves to be Very uneffective, unless it is super effective or Ultra effective, in that case Super will be uneffective, and ultra will be effective. If the other poké is a porygon or also wearing a virtual grid. If the poké holding this is a PorygonVi, this item has no effect on damage inflicted. If it is a porygon, special attack is increased. Electric types can attack though.
Strangely, the description will be: A strange item that entraps your pokémon in virual reality. Designed for PorygonVi
Master Star
Increases all stats and changes STAB to 2.0 of a poké caught in a master ball. Strange, random effects on Arceus as well.
Description: Powers up Master Pokémon
Immense Blow
30% chance of poké inflicting damage increased depending on the disavantage of pokémon being used. (EX: Increased by things such as lower stats, lvl, current HP, etc.) Also damges self if you have better stats.
Description: Chance of increasing damage depending on disvantage.
