hmmm.....its been a while but i thing u go to the valor lakefront and find cynthia outside the north exit to the town, near the lake. I think you get a secretpotion from her to get rid of the psyduck. However, i think u have 2 do something 4 her first. Get clarification on this because im not exactly sure, its been so long since i was there.

i read somewhere that some one gives me a potion at the hotel in valor lakefront, just like you said. But i have looked every where and can't find any one who does that. I do see a girl who has lost her key though, does that have anything to do with it?

no that has nothing to do with it. Let's see. Did u beat CrasherWake? If so, then talk to the galactic grunt and keep chasing him until u get to lake whatever. Then u will see Cynthia and she'll give u the potion.

You don't need a Ghost Pokémon to beat the Fifth Gym.

You can just use your Haunter, he'll probably sweep the fifth gym with Shadow Ball anyway. If not, just use anybody really.

I've tried my Haunter. I get killed in one shot. I need more ghost pokemon, but high levels. I don't wanna spend time raising pokemon that I'll only use once.

Just spend a half hour training. At your current status, it won't be hard.

I beat the gym, but for future reference, where are good places to train?

Well, anywhere with pokemon that are evolved forms or are the same level as your current pokemon would do, or just use VS Seeker to find trainers to rebattle. They give high EXP points and will be much easier to level up on.

Steel Pokemon as a single element are weak to fire, fighting and ground attacks, water and electricity are also advised since they hit neutrally. If this question for Canalave Gym by the way?
EDIT: I meant to say "is", not "if"...
