I put this into the electronics forum too since I thought people from either forum could help me.

I plan on recording myself playing along to some songs on drums using my digital camera. I'm pretty sure that the videos go onto my computer as Windows Media Player Files.

What I plan to do is record the tracks with the song in my headphones, so I wanted to overdub the actual song over my videos too, so you can hear what I'm playing as well as the studio track. Does anybody know of any (preferably free) software I could use to do this?

I don't know anything that can be legally obtained free. But there is Windows Movie Maker which is easy to use and then there's Vegas, which my friend uses to make videos for bands and its a bit more complicated and expensive but I don't think its all too hard to work.

Yeah, I've done some stuff with Movie Maker before and it seems like it should work. I can import my video from the camera and audio from the actual song tracks and just play them on top each other. You can't adjust the volume on each audio in your timeline though, so I'm going to be pretty limited. I'll see how it goes though. Thanks alot for the help.
