View Full Version : GWMPB/A Elimination
Fire King
December 18th, 2007, 09:34 PM
It's Elimination time. Vote for the bands/artists you think are bad, then, the real voting begins.
The rules for this round haven't been changed quite so much, but still listen up.
RULES
1. You are allowed to try and eliminate eliminate FOUR (4) bands/artists.
2. You do not have to eliminate four bands/artists. You can only eliminate one if it's all you can think of.
3. The elimination round works like this. You can choose up to four bands/artists to deduct one-half point each from, or you can use two of your elimination votes to increase the total of one of the bands/artists by one-half. So your choices are four eliminations, a boost and two eliminations, or two boosts. The elimination round will run until we get to 48.
4. I am fully aware that we're not choosing the best band/artist ever. We're just choosing what band/artist is the most popular as voted on my Gamewinners members.
5. Be specific about who you're eliminating and who you're boosting.
6. YOU CANNOT BOOST/ELIMINATE THE SAME BAND MORE THAN ONCE.
There are mine, now show me yours.
I will edit the Standings in this post periodically. BOLD bands indicate bands that have clinched berths in the voting rounds.

Queens of the Stone Age should have 11 pts. You have them as 4 in this thread as well as the other.
2 elimination votes for Nickleback
1 for System of a Down
1 for Lawrence Arms since I have no clue who they are.

I'm going to boost Muse, and take The Beatles and Creed down a peg because I think they're both overrated.

Can I use all four of my eliminations on Nirvana? If so then yes I'll do that.
And dammit I forgot to nominate Alice!
Fire King
December 18th, 2007, 09:58 PM
Sorry, only one elimination/boost vote per band. Pick some other bands, maybe, but as it says in the rules, be specific about what you want.

Ok, I'd like to boost Metallica, and use my elimination votes towards Nirvana and Tool, since they describe themselves well in their name.

Updated to here, hopefully error-free.
Let it be known that on Tuesday, I'll be eliminating all bands who have either 2 points or less, or 1.5 points or less. It all depends on how many bands I need to cut to get to 48. Maybe even 36. We'll see when we get to Tuesday.

Up Mineral and the Larry Arms. No one worth getting rid of. But if someone wants to help me keep Moneen or Muse I'll change my Mineral vote to one of those

That's weird, because I remember putting yours in. I copied and pasted them into the first post, like I did everyone else's, and I sorted them. But, damn it, they're not there.
I'll put them in. Sorry bout that.

Whelp, I've eliminated all the bands with 2.5 points or less. That leaves 51, and my goal by next Tuesday is 36 bands. If that point is not reached by then, I'll do another purge.
By the way, I've taken two points away from each band.
BY THE WAY! Everyone who has already eliminated can either:
A) Vote to take down two more bands/artists
B) Boost a band/artist
However, if you haven't yet voted, you're limited to what you would have gotten anyway. And yeah, you can continue to bomb bands or boost bands you've already went after. I'm using mine to take down U2 and Avenged Sevenfold.

Updated and purged to here. I took one vote from each of the bands, and that eliminated 9. Now 41 remain, and we need to get rid of five. Same thing as before. You get either two eliminations or one boost. But it's first come first serve.
I'm dropping Avenged Sevenfold and Linkin Park, the latter of which is now eliminated.
That leaves 40.
