I have only just gotten to Sunnyshore City, and I was surprised to see a certain Johto Gym Leader sitting on the border to the ocean leading to the pokemon league. Funnily enough it happens to be my favorite woman Gym Leader of all, in my favourite Town no less, so it was a triple shock!! Jasmine of Olivine City, right there, in Sinnoh. I literally said out loud, "WOW, IT'S JASMINE!!" When I realised, and my parents looked at me awkwardly...

Maybe this is a sign to say that perhaps a Johto version is coming to DS soon. That would be, just... Magnificent.

EDIT: ... And when I say "in" my favourite town, I meant in my fave Johto town.

Ha ha that must have been funny. That would be awsome if they did make a Johto version. They probably are because they remade the first versions into new versions (fire red and leaf green). So YAY!!

wait. what do you mean by "many references to johto?" As far as i know, jasmine in sunyshore is the ony one.

There are a few I think. Early on in the game, I recall somebody talking about Johto, but where (and who) evades my memory.

The Red Gyarados reference in the beginning was obviously a shout out to G/S/C.

The references I can clearly think of now are:

Red Gyarados - This happened at the Lake of Rage in G/S/C.
The Poketch - A remake of the PokeGear.
Night and Day - Returns from, you guessed it, G/S/C.
Jasmine - A Johto Gym Leader on the beach of Sunnyshore City.
Prof. Rowan - Just came back from Johto.

A few references isn't enough to convince me that they're coming out with a G/S/C remake. They had references to Johto in R/S/E, too.

However, what does make me believe that there may be a G/S/C remake is the fact that the coding of the game allows for a Pokemon to be from "Johto". Obviously you can't Pal Park something from your Gold and Silver cartridges, so I'm thinking there will be a remake at some time in the future.
