can anyone give me a good moveset, nature etc. for a furret? also. would it be a huge mistake to put one in my team?
also, does gender make difference to pokemon's stats, growth etc.?

Gender does not make a difference in the pokémon's stats.

Ferrets special attack sucks so you want a physical one.

Consider:
Return or Body Slam. Return with max happiness for more power, Body Slam for possible paralyzehax.
Focus Punch and Sucker Punch. Your opponent tries to attack? Sucker Punch 'em. They try to get wise and setup/switch? Focus Punch them. Possibly deadly if properly predicted and you get lucky enough. If they try to setup with Spiritomb or Dusknoir, uh, just switch.
Trick + Choice Scarf. Yeah, lots of other pokemon can do this, but so can Furret if you want to try it. Best when you use the move on a wall or something.

Its base stats are generally not good enough for the competitive environment, however it is an OK UU pokémon.

What is a UU pokemon?

can you explain what this means. It's like 1.00 in the morning over here in wales and i am tired.

UU means UnderUsed.

What is a UU pokemon?
Literally, UnderUsed. These pokemon aren't as strong as the commonly seen pokemon (ex: Altaria sucks compared to Dragonite/Salamence so its UU).
can you explain what this means. It's like 1.00 in the morning over here in wales and i am tired.
Focus Punch can't connect if you're attacked, but it stings like hell.
Sucker Punch will only connect if you're attacked, but it'll always go first.
As such, if you think your opponent will attack, Sucker Punch them. If you think they'll do something else that isn't an attack (setting up, switching, etc.), Focus Punch will take care of them.
If you can't predict your opponent worth a crap that Sucker/Focus Punch combo isn't as great.
Trick swaps your item with your opponents. Choice Scarf will let Furret outspeed most things, and the hope is that you'll force your opponent to be locked into a move that can't do much by itself (Substitute, Protect, Swords Dance, or a fighting move that you can switch a ghost into with no worries).

Taht seems a really good tactic Rick, and i'm fairly tidy at predicting moves, so can you give me a moveset for a furret. thanks guys.

OK, thanks, and what does a choice scarf do and where do i get one?
Pencil Thief
December 9th, 2007, 10:47 AM
A Choice Scarf is an item that raises the speed of your pokémon a lot, but you can only use one move until you switch out. You can get one for Battle Points at the Battle Tower prize place.

The first move you picked.

If you're going for a Sucker Punch / Focus Punch prediction moveset, a choice item isn't a good idea. You'd be better off with Expert Belt or Leftovers. I recommend Leftovers, since Expert Belt can't help Return.

OK, so:
Furret @ lefties
Adamant nature
-sucker punch
-focus punch
-Return
-[i don't have the U-turn TM, what about AA?]

With the last pokemon there a better fire pokemon than Typhlosion. Try to get either Infernape Blaziken Charizard. If you can't then use typhlosion.

I find the Choice Scarf Eruption to be, although predictable, appealing.
