What do they have in common you might ponder to yourself fruitlessly? Well, they are all bands I love... And, they are all bands up for nominations to the Rock and Roll hall of fame this year. Now, I didn't say it was a sure thing, but I would much rather see these guys over Warren Zevon or The Cars. Unfortunatly, it has come to my attention that the judges for the Rock and roll hall of fame are all complete idiots, but it is nevertheless the only type of honorary system rock gets so I might as well bitch about it instead of blindly submit to nothing at all :P.

Spread the love people. Share your feelings.

Also (To big for the title) are other bands I love that are nominee's this year: Motorhead, Jeff Beck (And his lack of a solo career), Iggy Pop & The Stooges, and Horse the band (Merely kidding about Horse).

Rush and Iron Maiden are my two favorite bands. Rush has been successful in making quality music and putting on amazing shows for over 30 years and still does today. Maiden is doing the same. There is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't be inducted. Then again, it wouldn't be surprising if they weren't since things like this and lists made by Rolling Stone, VH1, etc. tend to be little more than a joke.

Go Rush & Maiden! Not much of a Rush fan but they are ridiculously talented and definately deserve to be there. And Maiden? Everybody likes Maiden! They have so many good albums and songs. Even after this long they're still putting out great music. Brave New World is one of the best albums of the decade, no doubt. But anyone from Rolling Stone and VH1 are pretty stupid. Still, I don't see how either band can't make it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rush does not get inducted as Alex Lifeson has said numerous times that the Rock and Roll hall of fame is a joke since they have been passed on in the past for rap and pop groups. If they had not put out an album this year they probably would have been passed over again.

I'm sure Maiden will get in as well as King Crimson and the Beastie Boys. Rush will probably get in too but it would be great to see them skip out on the induction.

Def Leppard became eligible back in 2005, and I'm still waiting. :(

I saw Rush in September. They'll be good to go for another 30 years.

I plan on seeing Maiden in May. They will definately be good for another few decades, if Dickinson can stop falling and breaking ribs and stuff on stage.

I'm assuming you've heard this but I'll retell the tale for you. What has nine arms and sucks? Not a mutated octupus; Def Leppard.

Sorry, I had too. But seriously I hope they remain stricken from it.

^ Why, that's not a very nice thing to say at all, now, is it?

Anyone who thinks Rick Allen is not a talented drummer has never done his research. Also, I'll hold up Phil Collen next to any guitarist in the world.

As long as Maiden gets in, I don't care about anything else.

1. You spelled Phil Collins wrong.

2. Ever heard of Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Jon Petrucci, Herman Li, Scott Totman, Buckethead, Noodles, Zakk Wylde, Dimbag Darrel, Alexi Laiho, Brendan Small, David Gilmore, Jimmy Paige, Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, etc., etc., etc.? Didn't think so. I could go on and on and on for hours on end about who else is better than Phil Collins.

On a slightly better note, who here would like to See The Offspring nominated when they're eligible? Knowing the dee dee dees that run the Rock and Roll hall of fame nomination process, they'll probably never get in, even though they are probably one of the best alternative/hardcore punk bands ever.

No he didn't. Phil Collen is a guitarist, and a good one. Phil Collins is an annoying drummer/singer.

Rush, Maiden, and The Beastie Boys are some of my favorites. I've been listening to The Beastie Boys since I could talk and I only got into the other two while in college. I really like Warren Zevon so it'd be cool for him to go in even though he isn't with us anymore. The HoF is kind of lame anyways but it'd be cool to see all these guys together in one place.

For quoting Carlos Mencia (The dumbest most idiotic quote of all time might I add) and citing Brendan Small... The guy who plays the opening for Dethclock as a mighty guitarist; you lose all my respect. Brendan Small plays friggin' generic easy metal chords which looks hard because you probably aren't that good at hammer-ons and pull-offs.

Also, even though I like The Offspring, they will never get into the hall. And they aren't really qualified. What do they have? Smash and a year of fame in the 90s and that's it. The Offspring didn't do crap for crap; they had five popular radio singles. Eh gads that's practically none at all. If you wanna complain about someone getting in at least let it be someone who matters like Rush or Iggy Pop.

All right aside from being a right-out-d-bag, it's SAM Totman, DIMEBAG Darrell, Jimmy PAGE, and JIMI Hendrix.
