The special effects need some work, but that doesn't mean it's going to suck. Looks like they're trying to capture the silly spirit of the show.

I saw this the other day and it looks just as horrible as the cartoon was... the special effects are perfect, really. I kinda look forward to it.

See, I grew up with this show and played the arcade game a ton, so I love this stuff. And honestly, I think Hobo kinda hit it, the special effects are supposed to look sorta silly and cartoony, but at the same time they do look pretty good.

I have faith the Wachowski Bros will do it justice and I can't wait til it hits theaters.

This looks so bad. This has to be marketed towards kids in the 5-10 age range and purposely made to be cheesy.

I remember reading an article where the Wachowski bros. said they were wanting to do a Plastic Man movie. Now I'm actually curious to see how that would turn out.

They supposedly wrote a screenplay a few years ago... what happened to it after that I'm not sure.

I'll reserve judgement until after I see it, but so far it looks good. I like that they kept it as corny as the show, because it's not really Speed Racer unless it's really cheezy. I think the movie might actually suck if they tried to make it more serious and realistic.

Yes, that's for sure, but then again, not many people are going to see that unless they are intuitive or knew the show very well. If they stick to the original atmosphere, I'll be happy, case closed.
