Should I get Action Replay or Gameshark? I'm going to get one of them for my DS :DS: on Friday the 30th. Are they diffrent or the same?

I think for most purposes they are the same. However, I guess with AR you can download codes off the internet and don't have to type in codes.

Up until several years ago, GameShark was just another name for Action Replay. InterAct had marketing rights in the states and called it that. Then Mad Catz acquired the GameShark name, and apparently now all Gamesharks do is back up saves, whereas Action Replays still do provide codes. (Take this with a grain of salt -- it's from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gameshark).)

If current Sharks provide save backup capabilities, I'd definitely take advantage of that. Since "cheating devices" modify the RAM, they may corrupt the file if not used properly, and it would be nice to be able to restore. Plus if you can transfer saves to a PC, you can modify the save file to provide some advantages similar to those of cheat codes. But then again, I'm not that up-and-up on current cheating devices, so I can't say for sure which has better features.
