Last I checked Sony do not allow AO rated games to be sold for their systems. Same with Nintendo. So that may well be the reason.

Then whats the point of the adult only rating?

Search me. I'm English, and hence know nothing about the very American ESRB rating system.

The adult rating is basically a net that catches any game the ESRB thinks is too violent/sexual for mainstream. It's not literally meant to bar the game from being released, but it's a pretty deadly label. Basically, the ESRB isn't supposed to know that Sony/MS/Nintendo won't allow AO games on their consoles, so they judge the game objectively and assign it a value they think it deserves. It's the console companies' choice to stop those games from being released.
AO, however, still has a slight market with the PC platform. I'd venture a guess to say that AO is one of the least-bought ratings out of all of them (EC, E, T, M, AO).

ESRB doesn't deal with movies and tv programs, therefore they can't be called hypocrites since they have no say in what is released on other mediums. Yell at the MPAA for that.
As it's been said at least a thousand times on this forum, the US NEEDS the ESRB. Could you imagine the sh*tstorm that would be created everytime a violent/sexual game fell into the hands of a 12 year old who saved up his birthday money?
BTW: There are NC-17 ratings for movies too. Grindhouse almost lost the ability to be shown at most theaters since it was extremely close to getting an X rating. Same with Hostel. Games aren't the only form of entertainment that have to be careful what they put into their products.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AO-rated_products Here's a list of every game that received an AO rating. The list also includes games that were edited because it has an AO rating.
Just because Sony and Nintendo doesn't allow them doesn't mean that they aren't out there.

I like to think of the AO rating as the "Deathblow Rating to Consoles"
Microsoft,Playstation, and Nintendo don't allow AO games on their consoles but the PC is a free market. You can make AO games for the PC but alot of retailers won't distribute them.

How about BMX XXX?
There is a code that erases the big fat black lines so you can see the tits of the chick you are driving and I also heard that there is also a code for striptease videos.
