Yeah if Michigan loses to Minnesota, the world would implode.

In addition, Kentucky is losing to Mississippi State. :rotfl:

One more thing, I would like to be the first (and probably only) person to say that Kentucky wont lose another game this season, win the SEC East, and despite losing in the conference title to the LSU team they beat earlier in the season, still go to a major bowl game.

In addition, Kentucky lost to Mississippi State. :rotfl:
Fixed. Kentucky lost to Mississippi State and not just beaten but beaten badly 31-14. That's embarrassing if you are Kentucky. Also Minnesota is up 10-0.

Rick52

Michigan got its ass in gear, though. Up comfortably 34-10 near game's end.

Also USC lost to Oregon which isn't too surprising. Looks like the Pac-10 title is no longer in USC's grasp, with Oregon having the upper hand, and Arizona State and UCLA with no conference losses.

Isn't it the University of Kentucky (U of K?) KU is usually Kansas University, which threw me off for a second.

I picked Ohio State, BC, and Kansas, all undefeated, to lose this weekend, and it seems like all three of them are going to win. I chose Arizona State, also undefeated, to also win. Guess I know which way that's going... :-\

Another interesting week of college football. What happened to Kentucky, anyway? I knew Miss State was a pretty good team this year, but wow.

Unfortunately, I completely missed the Michigan game, so I'm not too surprised at the final score. a little scary they were down 10-0 to Minnesota though...

You guys really need to see this. There was a miracle Cal/Stanford type play in DIII yesterday which can be watched here (http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?videoId=3083220&categoryId=2564308). I think there were even more laterals than in Cal/Stanford, actually. It seems like the other team just stopped trying to tackle at the end of it.

TheDukeOfBoston

Wow, that announcer was annoying. That play was pretty crazy, you can tell it's D3 when
a. The defenders just gave up at the end and basically said "f*ck it"
b. The camera zooms in on all 30 fans cheering after the win.

That was something, though.

ESPN did! They reported 15 laterals. That was a great play. I loved how all the defenders just stood there and looked at the ball as it hit the ground on that last lateral.

~Shotgunnova~
October 28th, 2007, 07:55 PM
I've never seen laterals like that work before. That was amazing. Somehow after that last lateral hit the ground Curry was able to scoop it up and run all the way for the score. Talk about lack of hustle by the defense.

And why the hell was the anouncer yelling boo?

Also, check out this stat line for Kirby Freeman today.

1/14, 84 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT

Can you say "F*CKING PATHETIC"???? I mean DAMN. If your quarterback is doing that poorly... 1) What does it say about the coaching staff leaving him in? Or for that matter, having at least a SERVICEABLE quarterback? I mean for crying out loud, REX GROSSMAN is better than that! 2) PUT SOMEONE ELSE IN THE GAME! Kyle's injured, yeah, but there's still George Fernandez that stands on the sideline doing nothing! Do something with him for Chrissakes! 3) You could pull an Arkansas! Put Javarris, Graig, Derron and Darnell in the backfield and just let them run the option. We ran the ball down NCSU's throats today! Geez...

I never thought I'd say this . . . but as I watched Kansas score more points on my team than any team ever has, I didn't even feel surprised or dismayed. This season has been over since week 5. The players have given up on the coaches and given up on each other. The coaches have given up on the team. They knew the writing was on the wall when the AD who has been keeping them here was fired and now instead of trying to coach to win, they are spending all their time trying to negotiate more dollar signs for their buyout checks. Even though we have The Legend Himself Tom Osborne as the interim AD, he is a man of his word and won't fire any of the current staff until after the season. Which means we will get blown out again next week against Kansas State and then two weeks after that against Colorado.

Then finally they might fire the worst thing to ever happen to Nebraska football, Bill Callahan and his staff. I've never seen more apathy and more wasted talent in any one place (football or otherwise) in my life, and I highly doubt I ever will. This is a GOOD team. These are TALENTED players. But this coaching staff has no idea how to do . . . well, much of anything really. They recruit well. They do not develop talent. They do not coach to win. They actively SQUELCH passion and energy. They can not coach in a game. They can't adjust.

Sorry for all the smack I'm sure I talked about Nebraska before the year. We Husker fans have earned everything we're getting this season.

Wow, this is sickening. I missed this game because I was at work, but I figured this would be an easy win. How the hell could this happen?!?!?! Against NC State, no less! The past few years have seen some horrible losses for the Canes, but this might take the cake. I really can't find the right words for this one.

As for the option, I'm not sure why they wouldn't do that. I know they did it early in the season, and it worked pretty good when I saw it. I like the idea of having an actual QB playing QB...but with a stat line like that, you HAVE to make a change. That's just unacceptable.

Wow. Anyone see the Navy-Notre Dame game? I really think this is the Death Season for Notre Dame. I mean, they had won 43 straight against Navy previously. And they give this one up in triple overtime.

Two strait weeks Matt Ryan has looked bad. Didnt look around after their comeback win over VT last week so I dont know what the board's thoughts were of that game...Matt looked horrible until for some unknown reason, VT switched from a D that was kicking butt to the prevent you from winning D which did ultimately cost them the game..that and that VT cant catch a ball. But glad to see BC lose.

What has happened to USF? They looked so good at first...and now they're blah..such is college football.

LSU still has lady luck on her side for some reason. Never have been impressed with Les Myles as a coach, yet talent and luck prevail. Need OSU to lose we need uncertainty with the BCS...chaos please.

About the rankings, I can't picture the BCS ranking a one-loss team over an undefeated team . . . I think Kansas hops up to number one. Maybe the if the coaches poll keeps them behind Oregon and LSU (which I think SHOULD happen), it might be enough to keep Kansas out of the top spot.

Oh I don't doubt the computers will shove Kansas up to #1. Pollsters won't comply though, and since BCS rankings are two-thirds polls, Kansas will probably be #3 at best.

I think the Championship game will have a Big 12 rep. If not Kansas, then Missouri or Oklahoma. The former two will have beaten two top-5 BCS teams at the end, whereas Oklahoma would take out one more. At worst, the Big 12 Champ will have one loss, and a second team will probably make another BCS bowl.

As such, I think Oregon's gonna get knocked out just from the fact that they don't have any 'on paper' tough games left. UCLA has fallen considerably, and lol Arizona. Even LSU still has Arkansas and the SEC title game.

I also don't get Georgia at 9. If Tennessee wins out, they're the ones that goes to the SEC title game, not Georgia, yet Tennessee is all the way down at 20.

^^When I looked earlier at the old rankings, the page said it had been last updated this afternoon. That's why I was confused.

And pssh, people say the Big 12 is weak. Three teams in the top 5, and two of them from the North? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Since I live in the heart of the Big 12, I'm going to be biased, but it is a strong conference (Without Nebraska too). Such a fierce rivalry between KU and Mizzou, nobody guessed that either would have been this good.

Thank God Missouri is #5 instead of #6 like the AP poll. They are more deserving then WV
I SOOO hate Mizzu, they had those years like UVA where they would stop out in the top 25 for a few years in a row and fold in the season, but keep getting these top 25 rankings...has Missouri beaten anyone this year? If not how are they more deserving than WVU? Id take White and Slaton over any combination that Missouri has to offer.

Well they haven't played premier teams ouside of Oklahoma (who they blew a lead at the end to), but they did beat Illinois and slaughter Texas Tech. West Virginia lost to South Florida and their only decent win was against Rutgers. They almost lost to Louisville.

And just because you'd take the best 2 players on WV over the best 2 players on Missouri, that doesn't mean the team as a whole is better. Besides, Pat White is grossly overrated, and Noel Devine is the best running back on the team in my opinion. Chase Daniel is playing out of his mind in Missouri and is 5th in the NCAA in passing yards. Personally, I'd take Missouri over WV not only because I think they're better, but also because the Big East sucks and the Big 12 is improving.

I'd take WVU over Missouri. We already know what the offense can do, but the defense is also much improved this year.

The voters always talk about road games. Well, most of their biggest games so far have come on the road. First was the blowout against Maryland. Rutgers was in the top 25, and they absolutely dominated them from beginning to end. They lost to USF, but they were ranked in the top 20, and WVU played more than half the game without their best player. Despite that, they still almost came back and won the game. Besides the USF loss, and the Lousville game (which they controlled most of anyway) they've rolled over everyone they played.

Missouri's schedule is similar to WVU's in the sense that both have beaten up on a few teams that aren't as good as originally advertised. The Big 12 isn't bad, but I think the Big East is better. At least the Mountaineers don't have a total choke job on their record, though.

West Virginia's defense is way better than Missouri's . . . I'd take them.

Mizzou will be playing harder teams in their next games though (if they beat KU and go to the Big 12 championship game) .

WVU still plays at Cincy and against UConn (I think). They aren't as high in the rankings, but they aren't cakewalks either. It's still quality competition.

I heard this yesterday on ESPN, that Charlie Weis had been winning with all of Ty Willingham's left over recruits. And now that Weis' guys are making their way to the playing field, Notre Dame is terrible. Then Weis goes and blames this bad season on the players after the loss to Air Force. Not a good sign if your an Irish fan.

I am not convinced Charlie can win anything nor coach...who has he beaten while at ND...anyone? Almost all his big games have been blow outs...only memorable win was a huge come back over the lack luster MSU Spartans last season

I'm not really impressed by him either. The only big game I'll give him credit for almost winning is the one against USC with the whole 'Bush Push' thing. But when your most impressive game as a coach is a loss, that's probably not a good thing. Otherwise he's been blown out by Ohio State and LSU in bowl games. (And Notre Dame probably shouldn't have even gone to the Sugar Bowl last season. When they played BCS quality teams [Michigan and USC] they got blown out, I don't know why anybody thought they'd do better against LSU.)

Sorry if this sparks a Notre Dame argument.

He DID beat a UCLA team who started their 3rd string QB, 2nd string RB, and 2 second string OL.

...

That doesn't count?

Man, losing Dennis Dixon would be a disaster for the Ducks. He's out of the game now with a hurt left knee. They might be able to survive Arizona tonight (barely winning by one now) but their National Championship hopes are all but gone without him in.

31-11 Arizona now.

Looking pretty nice if you're a fan of the Big 12 now.
