Code varies. Need sphere thingy. Buy in Besaid or get for free by saving enough and/or all people from the CotSF in Chapter 3.
Then use it to find four spheres buried in the ground and use them to view spheres with numbers on them for the numbers of the code.
Sphere in Besaid village in that little alcove that had three chests in it in FFX.
(look onto top of temple)
Sphere in the area off to the right coming from the beach.
(look at top of tree across water)
Sphere somewhere along the road between village and beach (there may be two like this, as I can't remember where the other one is)
(don't remember where the number sphere is)

You're right, there are two. One is by the Save Sphere (look up to the right, it's on a tree), and another just before the first waterfall (if you watch the Besaid Sphere, you'll see the number).
The order of the code is
1. Besaid Village sphere
2. Sphere below the save sphere
3. Sphere by the waterfall
4. Sphere on cliff's edge

we can't give you the code. It's different each time.
Also: I remember at least one sphere where the game creators made it only half showing and I had to guess what it was. Good times. So uh...maybe that could be your problem.

Try both. There are no penalties for inputting an incorrect code.
