i think this is one of the most under rated pokemon out there i meen NU??? at least UU or even BL with sunnyday support
this is what i use
Troipius@lefties
adament
Ability: Chlorophil
evs: 252 attack, 252 speed, 6 hp
swordsdance
leaf blade
Aerial ace
Earthquake
with chlorophil and good timing with sunny day support ive swept 2 or 3 pokes in ou that definetly cant be an NU pokemon.
what are your views?

Looking at Tropius' stats, its defenses are its high points, but even then its defensive bases aren't that great (only 99/83/97), and its Special Attack is actually higher than its Physical Attack (72 > 68, not much but still). Chlorophyll will take care of its abysmal speed, but you're not going to be able to pull off a Sunny Day with Tropius if its next to a fridge or something. Defensive Pokemon + 4x weakness never works well, and a pokemon such as Tropius that has a 4x Ice weak does it absolutely no favors.
I mean, yeah, the set sorta works with the Chlorophyll support (and that's no guarentee), but there's probably a few pokemon out there that can do something similar quite a bit better. Kabutops+Swift Swim+Rain Dance, for instance even though the typing is quite different.

But you can see why it's in NU. Its stat distribution says "wall", but the actual stats say "lol no", while the 4x Ice weakness says "yo wat up is it Ice Shard time or wut". You can make an offensive moveset, but it requires a lot of setup and time, something Tropius can't afford to lose if its going to take anything down.
Its not like one of those cool UUs like Raichu (>_>) that's already set and can take out one, maybe two pokemon without wasting any time. I mean, it could use a Nasty Plot, but not like how Tropius needs Swords Dance and Sunny Day.

Apart from anything, UU pokemon are put in UU mainly because they're used more than pokemon in NU (hence the full names). Strength is also applied, but Tropius isn't very common or strong, so it should stay NU.
As for the set, Rick basically got it spot on.

Would it be any better if he replaced Earthquake or Aerial Ace with Sunny Day?
