Glowing red eyes

I went to the Old Chateau ( I think thats how its spelled ), and I saw the ghosts and all. I went into the room with the eyes.

I had my Emerald Game in the slot. I went up to the picture and tried to click on it. It failed because it either stopped glowing, or it just didnt work ;_;

My question is:

How can I get the Gengar? Cause Im confused ;_;

you can use fire red/leaf green or emerald. you need the national pokedex and you should be able to find gengar on the second floor in the second room from the right.

You don't need to actually click on the eyes, you will just find a Gengar in that room, if, like didi said, you already have the national dex.

The red eyes just naturally disappear when you get next to it. That doesn't mean anything.

all you need to have is the national dex, any gba pokemon game in the gba slot (rsefrlg) and a lot of luck and patience, coz gengars are very rare in that room
