View Full Version : Which Songs Destroy You?

So I'm guessing most of us are at least half way done the game by now, so which songs are hard/impossible for you?

For me, TTFAF is the only impossible one, but Raining Blood and One are both giving me problems because I go into some parts without star power (like One's solo). DWDTG is also tough. And I can't get the verse riff of Welcome to the Jungle. Finally Barricuda and Same Old Song and Dance don't want to be 5-starred...

I'm currently on the encore of Tier 7, so all of the ones that have been hard for me up until now are:

Guitar Battle vs. Tom Morello
Holiday in Cambodia
Guitar Battle vs. Slash
And everything in Tier 7.

Now, I'm off to kill my fingers on Cult of Personality.

Cult of Personality's solo was surprisingly one of the easiest (and most fun) for me to play, even with how many notes are in it. I just rolled my fingers up and down the fret buttons (thank god for HO/POs). The only songs that are still giving me trouble are Raining Blood (still haven't beaten it), Cliffs of Dover (beat it, but just barely), and TTFAF. I figured out how to beat One and now I'm happy.

I was actually too busy watching Morello's side and missed a bunch of my attacks... I beat him by doing a double-note attack during an insane solo right at the end. That was pretty lucky. That was the closest I got to failing.

The battle actually got me very used to the HO/POs that I was having trouble with originally.

I'm on tier 6 right now, and so far no song has been really hard, I almost managed to fail Barracuda, but I'd blame that on my sucking at doing gallops. I couldn't keep a streak going on Holiday in Cambodia either.

Same thing here, I kept paying attention to the wrong side of the screen, I got to the end of the battle the first time though, then beat him the second.

Exactly what I thought, I 5-starred it on sight read, the only song in the 7th/8th tier i did that on. I never saw the video but I heard they added a long solo and I expected something ridiculous but I found it easy.

TTFAF is still getting to me though.

Raining Blood's Mosh 1 threw me off.. and then once I passed that, the Flood part of the song gave me a achievement for losing :( Those HOPOs are impossible.

One's Solo A through D were tough.. that made me nervous.

TTFAF's intro is by far the hardest section in ANY song, and then after that, you should be fine until near the end of the solo.

Lou's guitar battle was a pain that took a little longer to beat than TTFAF.

..and Neversoft abused the three-note chords A LOT near the end of the game. GH2 eased you into those chords. :(

The only thing that took me a super long time to beat was the Lou Battle

Finally did though, now I'm working on getting past TtFaF...*sigh*

Raining Blood and One are the damn songs preventing me from beating the game at this moment. One's alright until the Solo, of course, and the beginning of Raining Blood with the rampant HO's and PO's is the biggest roadblock.

Miss Murder is currently killing me right now. It sucks when you are still on tier 3

I wiped through Cult of Personality first time. Nailed the extended solo, though hard as it was, barely missed any notes and only used star power at the break in the solo were it's supposed to go "Dun Dun-Na, Dun Dun-na, Dun-Na" But they changed it in the rerecording.

Edit: Oops. Well anyways, the two songs murdering me right now are Raining Blood and One. One for it's incredible solo and Blood because of the part after the rapid gallops were you have to tap four notes per beat. Like R-Y-B-O, G-R-Y-B back and forth. You all know the part.

I don't know why so many say One was hard, just save SP for the solo, and rapidly hit notes and strum, that's how I did it.

Raining Blood however, is making me it's b*tch.

Raining Blood isn't too bad, make sure you are in the green when you come to that ridiculous part, then make sure you have star power, wait until you drop into the yellowish red, then activate it. I use it at the gallops for points, and go into that without star power, maybe that's why I fail it half the time.

I'm on DWDTG on expert. I'm having some difficulties but I just got to it tonight.

Does anyone have good strategies for beating Lou?

I know one that might be able to kill him off early in the song. Try to get the first power-up. When you get it, you better hope it's the whammy power-up. When his solo comes up, use it right away. Those green notes scrolling down will kill him.

If you don't get a whammy power-up, use power-ups before HE gets power-ups. That's how I've managed to beat him.

hmm thanks. thats what i hate about it though, a lot of it us luck based on which power ups you or your opponent get...

Time your power-ups so that he can't get his (try to look for those special notes on his screen in your periphery). It's pretty much cake this way (I won on the second try), assuming you get decent items and can play the song moderately well. Also, don't waste a power-up if he doesn't have many notes coming up.

If you have hyperspeed on, by the way, you might want to turn it off for the battle. It's much harder with hyperspeed since the top of the fretboard is cut off in battles, so the notes appear much closer to the bottom of the screen. When they're scrolling fast, it's really difficult to react quick enough.

the only thing is, he ALWAYS gets his power up before I do and ends up using it on me messing up my streak. So I basically very rarely get power ups. Really irritating since his battle power streaks always come first.

The Song Im having trouble with right now is Lou's Battle... It's always something minor its just becuz he uses the stupid freaking lefty flip! And has anyone else ever failed lou's battle. tried the tutorial..tried battling again but this time Lou had his side on easy? WTF IS WRONG WITH THAT PICTURE???

Yeah I've heard abotu that glitch. Does it fix when you try again? If not you are screwed, but otherwise, just get powerups, and activate them when you see one of his powerup phrases coming so he can't get them. And once you make it to "Johnny's" solo, it's really easy because there are a lot of battle powerups for you and only a few for the Devil.

I know how to control wether i get him on hard or easy...I could use the easy version to my advantage because this way...I will get power ups before he does...he will get less power ups and he even becomes a little worse at the song when hes on easy I've noticed that
