Okay, I have a DVD I want on my Nano, but I have no clue how to do it. I'm running it on Windows XP 2000 (if that even matters). The thing is, the DVD is a TV series, and since my computer is slow-ass a piece of sh*t, I only want to convert one episode. Can I even do this, or will I be forced to buy it from itunes?

There is a free download called Handbrake that you can download here (http://handbrake.m0k.org/?article=download).

I don't know how well it works with Windows or Windows XP, but it works great on a Mac. You create the movie then import it into iTunes, then you might even need to convert it for use on an iPod. I know that's a lot of processes, but it's pretty much the only way.

It's a great program to use... it lets you set the size you want each movie to be and I've found that about 200mb per half hour works pretty well.

Handbrake works fine with Windows. Although wouldn't you need software to break the encryption on the disc?

with the mac version, i have copied encrypted a movie for my friend's ipod that he could not rip on his PC. i assume it was copy protected, but i did not need any software other than handbrake

I've copied a few dozen discs on Handbrake, including the Star Wars saga and 300 (all of which I'm certain are protected) and had no problems.

Just be aware of the law, which is basically that you, personally own the viewing rights to a movie that you own.
