Whazzzzaaap
I think there was a topic like this before but it was more so about types of levels rather than specific levels in certain games. So what levels in certain games (Or missions or sidequests I guess) did you think were really great, the highlight of the game, and what other levels do you think were the worst ones ever.
You can list as many as you like, I'm going to request that if anyone mentions a Half Life 2 level, that they mention another one, we get it, Half Life 2 is awesome. Anyway, I'm going to mention one of each for now:
THE BEST
"Triads and Tribulations" - Grand Theft Auto 3
In this level (Or mission) the entire city is in a Mafia vs. Triad gang war, you get two Mafia buddies to go around town and kill some of the big Triad gang leaders, I haven't played the game in a year or so, so there's a chance that it wasn't as well done as I thought it was. But nothing was cooler than going around with a few gang members and capping some Triads with shotguns.
THE WORST
"Tai O" - Stranglehold
Holy crap this is the most awful level ever made in history. The worst part is, it's the second level. Stranglehold, for those who don't know is a game by John Woo about shooting guys in the face in spacey environments and doing tricks. Tai O breaks everything that the game is about. It's close quarters claustrophobic type design, so automatically you can barley see what your character is doing half the time. And on top of that you can't dive anywhere because there's no room to dive in the first place! Add in a few cheap enemy placements and being dizzy the entire time and you have the worst level ever.
Now you try.

The best: A match i had in MK deception in max difficulty NOOB&SMOKE VS themselves. The camera must had changed about 50 times.
The worst:the levels in Marvel Nemesis. The versus mode is truly amazing but the story levels were so F@%$ing boring!!!

The Best:
Grunty Industries: Banjo-Tooie.
I know, strange pick, but this is my favourite game, and my favourite stage. Dodging annoying cameras, breaking windows and turning into a washing machine. What more can you want?
and of course...
The Worst:
The times when you had to be a wolf- LOZ: Twilight Princess
This dissapointed me. Being a wolf was just plain boring. EVery time I had to gather the tears of light, it just made me want to do it faster so I could be human again. I thought it could be something good, but it was lame compared to link and all his trusty weapons.

best:
the level in psychonauts where you go inside the milk mans mind, just superb design.
also the last level in painkiller, where you see battles from past until present ,the atomic explosion was great.
worst:
the level in halo 1 where you had to just shoot at flood and go all the way up,it was sooo boring.

Best: The Parking Garage and Asgard Building in Max Payne.
I'm also a big fan of the first Norway level in Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Worst: I personally didn't like Ravenholm in Half Life 2. I'm not joking, I really disliked Ravenholm.

That's the Library, and yeah, that level sucks too.

I'm totally with you there, everyone is like "Dude, number one best level in half life 2? Ravenholm"
Wtf? It was so boring and lame, randomly walking around in the dark with enemies that are near impossible to hit? How is that fun?

I'm not too sure what to vote for for Best, but I have an easy worst for sure:
Worst: All the levels in Marvel Nemesis. I agree whole-heartedly with sidewinder. They're horrible, it's like, oh, kill these 5 enemies 13 times and... LEVEL COMPLETE!!!! Personally, I think a lot of the versus levels suck horribly, no, I take that back, ALL of them do. Especially the Wolverine and the first Imperfect battle, it was HORRIBLE!!! Camera is cheap, well, that's the whole game too... it's just not good at all.

Best: The Parking Garage in Max Payne. The CIA building in Splinter Cell.
Worst: In Tomb Raider 2 I think it was called the opera house level I hated it. The dream levels in Max Payne are aweful also.

THANK YOU it is nice to know that i am not the only who thinks that. It is much better when you play 2 player versus though. And i would like to add a worst level nomination : in spiderman 2 where you have to take the suitcase back ti that woman. ABSOLUTELY MEANINGLESS! And she doesn't even tell you what is in that f$#@ing suitcase. God....

In all honesty, I didn't take to Ravenholm like others did. I thought it had an excellent atmosphere and was suitably creepy, but could have been better. I certainly wouldn't class it as one of the worst I've played thought. It was a well designed level.
The worst one that comes to mind is certainly the Library from the original Halo. It's just one of the worst levels ever created, ironically in one of the best console single player campaigns of all time.

Ravenholm just didn't fit in with the rest of the game. It's like they took an action game and stuck a badly designed Survival-Horror level smack dab in the middle of the game. The only good thing about Ravenholm was that you got to play around with the Gravity gun without those combine a**holes shooting at you the whole time. I was relieved when I finally escaped the level and got to see the sun shining again...

I thought the level dragged a little, but I don't think it was badly designed and don't think that it didn't fit. Ultimately the head crabs and the creatures they create from possessing other creatures will always have an element of survival horror to them. Them taking over Ravenholm gave an indication of just how potent the threat from them is. The possessed dogs especially were excellent enemies, and kept you constantly on edge. It was something different, and I think it worked well.

The best - I can't remember the name exactly, but I believe it was called "Riot" from San Andreas. Going through a hood during city-wide riots, killing gang members, is just fun.
The worst - Cortana/Ravenholm, out of recent memory, these have to be two of my least favorite parts of otherwise superb games, and they just weren't as fun as the rest of the game. STOP PUTTING ZOMBIE LEVELS IN MY FPSs DAMNIT!

Not a bad level by any means, but bad compared to the rest of the game is the opening (Post training) mission of Call of Duty 4.
You feel like you have zero control. Your squad takes all the shots, makes and calls all the movements... You can beat it without taking a single shot yourself very easily.
