Ok, so I sold my PS2 and I'm thinking about trading up my favorite GTAs for their PC versions. I know there is San Andreas V1.0 and V2.0 and Vice City V1.0, v1.2, and V1.3. I don't know what versions there are for GTA III. I was wondering which versions support the Multi Theft Auto patch?, and which games support Gamepad vibration function? I would also like to know which kind of graphics cards I need to achieve their max resolutions and what are their max resolutions. Also is this a good decision, are the PC versions better?

Well, I have San Andreas on the PC, my computer isn't great though, probably a little below average. The only time I experience any drops in framerate is when I fly directly into clouds, even then I just have to look away from them and it's fine.
As for the versions, pretty sure there are ways to downgrade your version, though I haven't done that myself.
I'd say the PC versions are worth getting, better graphcis, and the oppurtunity of mods, plus they shouldn't be more than 10$. I would definitely advise using a gamepad to control it though, drive-bys are a b*tch to do on a mouse/keyboard.

Another question. Instead of buying a PC should I buy a PS3 and keep the PS2 versions?, cuz I heard the PS3 can make their graphics better.

Well DKSE unfortunately you've decided to do all this at a very bad time. But to answer your question, no don't get a PC.
If you get a PC for GTA you're pretty much going to want to play other games on the PC aswell, especially the new ones coming out like "Crysis" or something that like. In order to get a PC that can handle modern gaming (And GTA: SA since it was coded in the most awful way possible) you're going to have to spend at least $1,200 dollars on a new PC, you could upgrade your current PC but that's rather complicated. Secondly when GTA4 comes out you won't be playing it. GTA4 is coming out to the Ps3 and Xbox360 as of right now, and there's no announcement of when the PC version is going to come out, if ever.
Thirdly you obviously don't understand PC gaming, so anything relating to mods or added content might confuse the hell out of you. You shouldn't feel bad because it's a rather complicated scene anyway and takes a few months to figure out on your own. Those "versions" are "patches" which are made to fix games, there's nothing new in them except the removal of glitches. Multi Theft Auto is a mod and not a patch no version of the game will have multi theft auto built in because it's not made by Rockstar, it's just made by a few GTA fans who have a lot of time on their hands.
Fourth, your "buy a playstation 3" plan is also screwed over because of Sony's decision to remove backward compatibility from some playstation 3 systems. If you were to go to a store and get a $600 dollar playstation 3, you might be able to play San Andreas, GTA3, and Vice City, if you get any other version besides that $600 dollar one you have a 100% guarantee to never be able to play your ps2 games, ever. This is a recent decision so if you're lucky and go to best buy and see a $500 dollar ps3 then that version has backward compatibility, but they stopped making those versions so the stock has probably run out by now, but you never know.
As a side note (fifth) the PC will always have better graphics than console games, always. So you're pretty much screwed in every way possible. The only thing I can think would help is:
-Sell your ps2, and GTA games
-Buy the xbox versions of the GTA games, there's a special "trilogy" pack going for $80 dollars or something like that
-Buy an Xbox360 with a hard drive (Xbox360 Premium Version, it'll be in a silver box)
And there you go. You have better versions of your GTA games, and you'll be able to play GTA4 on day 1 instead of a few months later. The Xbox360 has backward compatibility for all the GTA games, so if you ever want to play them again, you can. The Xbox versions can't play Multi Theft Auto, but I'll tell you right now, MTA sucks. It's laggy and it's boring, there's no reason a game that isn't designed to be multiplayer, should be multiplayer.
Hope that helped.

I know it's not made by Rockstar, and everything I don't know about PC gaming my friend does. I know most of the technical stuff about PCs. I know where I could get a PC better than the 360 and PS3, and yes it is over $1,200, but I'm getting a job soon. I know what mods and versions and all that stuff is. I'm only interested in compatibility. And I bet I know more about the PS3 than you do. I already knew they removed the PS2 emotion chip, but places like Wal-Mart still sell the old versions. Not only that but the Twisted Metal series(my other fav) is Playstation only. Well at least you tried to help and I thank you for that, but I pretty much solved my dilemma on my own. I'll get a PC first. Then save money and get a PS3 just before GTA IV comes out.

I wasn't trying to start a debate of who knows what, but basing your knowledge of the PC from this:
I know there is San Andreas V1.0 and V2.0 and Vice City V1.0, v1.2, and V1.3. I don't know what versions there are for GTA III. I was wondering which versions support the Multi Theft Auto patch?, and which games support Gamepad vibration function? I would also like to know which kind of graphics cards I need to achieve their max resolutions and what are their max resolutions.
Seems like you have no idea what you're talking about.
And by the way, your chances of finding older versions of ps3s doesn't vary from store to store, it's just whether or not people bought all the stock or not. Whether it's from Walmart or EbGames doesn't make a difference.
And they stopped making True Twisted Metal Games a while ago.
If you have the money to shell out over $2,000 dollars for GTA related stuff then I guess it worked out.
