Despite McLaren getting FA backing speculation is mounting about his replacement with names like Mourinho, Capello and O'Neil being thrown about, so two questions, Who do you think will be in charge? and if different who would you want in charge?

Personally I think they'll stick with the mistake but I would prefer the special one as my ideal choice.

Paul, I'm with you 100%. Have a read there. It's the answer to my prayers. If we get the Special One in charge, we would be unbeatable.

Btw, even if we win Euro 08, I still want McClaren sacked.

I think everyone would like to see an approach for Mourinho, but I can't see that happening.

O'Neil seems like a decent prospect, and I certainly wouldn't say no to him.

How can you not see Mourinho happening? The guy is a proven winner, and not to mention he loves attention.

I can see the approach happening. I just can't see him agreeing to it.

Hes the perfect candidate, the Chelsea guys love him, the United guys respect him and well theres only one Liverpool guy who plays football and is available. Plus he would find a system that plays both Gerrard and Lampard allowing them to be truly world class.

Why don't you see him taking it James? All honesty.

Just a hunch. It almost seems like the role is made for him, but after his treatment by Chelsea I don't see him returning to England in any capacity for a while. By all means I'd love for him to prove me wrong.

Well like i've said before, i think Mourinho is one of the best if not the best manager in the world, what i like about him is that he'll come out and tell you exactly what he thinks, he wouldn't care what people say, plus i read today that he wanted the England job, i really would love for it to happen cause that way we'll have a manager that actually would know what he's doing.

Wonder what it would cost us. By the way, I've been reading some autobios as many of you know. How would you rank McClaren as a coach as of late? Seems like Erikson was our only half-good one. Mourinho would be amazing. We could fail to qualify for Euro, if we got Mourinho, I'd be top of the world.

Why don't you see him taking it

Well he did mention that he would love to coach the Portugal national team at some point, so I'm not too sure if he really wants to take the England job.

Also, lets not forget who is running all this. The F.A. They appointed Steve MacClaren as manager. Maybe they'll hire Steve Bruce or some other mediocre manager [whose team has a good last 10 games in the EPL] just because he happens to be English.

If they appoint a player-manager, am I allowed to leave?

Mourinho said that the only national team he would want to coach would be Portugal, because if he was managing England and he came up against Portugal, it would be a conflict of interest. Besides you'd have to be mad to want the England job, everyone knows that.

EDIT: I take that back, I forgot the small issue of the HUGE SALARY.

Who loves attention more than Mourinho?

Maybe he loves Portugal more

Then he'd have stayed with Porto. The guy likes money, the guy likes to win and the guy likes attention.

Club football is a completely different situation.
