Seen as I have really picked up momentum with regards to picking the worst team in the game, I thought I'd post my end of season two review.
In short, I did the league and cup double. The 'league' being the Conference National and the 'cup' being the FA Trophy. A cracking and slightly unbelieveable result all things considered. Basically I constructed a new team from scratch with free transfers and a couple of purchases, and though my team was strong it took about eight games to gel. After those eight games I was distinctly mid table, but then things started to pick up. I went 21 games unbeaten (with some lucky results in there) and shot right into contention for winning the league, which I managed to do with two games to go. I had pretty favourable draws in the cup, and played Morecambe in the final, winning a tightly contested game 2-1. I've already made some advanced signings for the new season with the remainder of my transfer budget (as now that I've won the league more people want to play for me), and hopefully I can consolidate my position next season. Three promotions in a row might be pushing it, though.
My player of the season was Matt Green, a striker I got for free from Cardiff who, despite having fairly rubbish stats, had Pace 18 and managed 30 goals in 43 starts. Without him I wouldn't have come close to winning the league.
