Seen as I have really picked up momentum with regards to picking the worst team in the game, I thought I'd post my end of season two review.

In short, I did the league and cup double. The 'league' being the Conference National and the 'cup' being the FA Trophy. A cracking and slightly unbelieveable result all things considered. Basically I constructed a new team from scratch with free transfers and a couple of purchases, and though my team was strong it took about eight games to gel. After those eight games I was distinctly mid table, but then things started to pick up. I went 21 games unbeaten (with some lucky results in there) and shot right into contention for winning the league, which I managed to do with two games to go. I had pretty favourable draws in the cup, and played Morecambe in the final, winning a tightly contested game 2-1. I've already made some advanced signings for the new season with the remainder of my transfer budget (as now that I've won the league more people want to play for me), and hopefully I can consolidate my position next season. Three promotions in a row might be pushing it, though.

My player of the season was Matt Green, a striker I got for free from Cardiff who, despite having fairly rubbish stats, had Pace 18 and managed 30 goals in 43 starts. Without him I wouldn't have come close to winning the league.

What's been going on on the upper tier, who won the league these two years?
And, if there are other countries activated, who won those leagues?

I've only activated the English league, because I'm going to stay with Vauxhall regardless of what happens.

Liverpool won the league in the first season, and Chelsea won it in the second season. The FA Cup winners were more of a shock. West Brom won it in the first season, and Tottenham got it in the second. Arsenal won the Champions League in the first season, and Man Utd in the second. And England won Euro 2008.

So really nothing like real life, then.

Any interesting promotions/relegations (not including Vauxhall Motors in League 2)?

The one extremely noticeable one was that Aston Villa were relegated in the season just gone.

They always seem to be outrageously successful with me as well. Just goes to show how good the team should be.

Or how over rated they are.

So congrats on the promotions, are you in the Football League now I can never remember the stupid league structure.

I am indeed. Vauxhall Motors are a professional club for the first time in their history! I had to give all the players I wanted to keep new full time contracts, as well as organise new full time training schedules and take on new staff. That was a pain to say the least. On the plus side, I've signed Andy Cole (yes, the ex Man Utd striker) as a coach, and his stats are rather good!

A hint for you, James: When Marco van Baster gets fired, it's that easy to hire him as an assistant manager.

Thanks for the tip. Might be worth a look.
