I saw it last night and thought it was really good. Typical cop movie, if you like those movies you'll like this one. Acting was pretty well...not to mention a very easy on the eyes scene during the opening, easy on the eyes for guys. Thought the plot was above average, movie kept me on the edge of my seat the whole night. Probably my favorite aspect is that there wasnt an over dubbing sound track...so no obvious music would play when something bad was about to happen, so that was a nice change. I recommend it.

I was very disappointed with the movie. I thought it was just a not so good Departed clone. The story was too predictable, and unoriginal. Some of the actors seemed that they were trying too hard. Some of the performances were just lame. The defining moment of the movie was the thrilling car chase in the rain (Where Duvall's character died). It wasn't a bad movie, just highly disappointing.

Of course it is not as well done as the departed, but it is still a good movie. How many movies are not predictable? I liked the feel of the movie, the sloppy production, it felt more like a movie made in the 80s than something like the Departed. Yeah, not a huge fan of Phoenix, felt he did over do his roles at time, but I still think Duvall and Wahlberg did solid jobs. I really wasnt expecting too much, actually after some of the reviews I didnt expect much, but was pleasantly surprised when it I found it to be a good movie. I dunno, to each their own.
