Well, asking why halolcats is spelled like that the answer is because that's how http://lolcats.com/ spells things. It's an old gag that people have been doing that started off more as "We is in your *blank* *blanking* your *blank*"
I think the idea is that it's the cats themselves sending in the pictures, with their own spin on typing and spelling.
Half the time it takes me a while to figure out what the hell they're saying.

That's just how funny images are done these days. Like Hobo said, it's probably something to do with the cats themselves. Either that, or it just adds a funny spin to it.
