When you approach me, you slow down. When you reach me, you stop. When you pass me, you go backwards. What am I?

The time on the clock. When you're approaching the time you're trying to set it to, you slow down. When you reach it, you stop. If you happen to pass it, you go back and set the correct time.
Austin.

Wow Sounds logical Falcon, I bet that is it, the reason I said Semi truck was because when you get close to one, you slow down so it dont get over in the next lane and hit you, If it slows down, you stop so you dont hit that big ole semi, and when you go by, pass it it seems as your going backwards if you look at it.

No, no, and no. Think of it as being forced to do those things in those situations.

And sorry if its simple to understand, I never understood the speed of light and sound kinda things.

It's part of Einstein's Theory of Relativity. The faster something travels towards the speed of light, the slower time passes for it compared to something completely at rest. This is particularly noticable for objects that approach the speed of light and for light itself. Theoretically, this would cause time to stop for something traveling at the speed of light and for it to travel backwards in time if it could somehow travel faster than the speed of light.

Like when Superman flew round the Earth really fast to reverse time and save Lois Lane. :geek:

That would work (assuming time travel can alter history) if Superman was flying faster than the speed of light. I didn't like how the movie used that, because I don't think even Superman should be able to fly that fast.

The speed of light is reserved for the real superheroes. lik batman...

Mr T can give the illusion of moving at the speed of light by rolling the Earth under his feet.

So couldn't we, in theory, go back in time if we somehow made a craft that could travel at the speed of light?
Migraine.

Actually, a theory widely accepted by the scientific community of today is that if you go further than the speed of light, the particles in your body would collapse, therefore you disintegrate.
I iz well geeky, innit? :link:
