does anybody think that the games would be much better if you could choose your starter pokemon from a list of 10 or 15 or something, instead of the normal three.
If i was making a game the list of starters would be something like:

1.three new starters
2.Magby
3.pichu
4.magikarp
5.
6.houndour
7.snowrunt
8.shellder
9.dratini
10.Larvitar
11.zangoose
12.seviper
13.bagon
14.metang
15.feebas
16.magikarp

soory,

5.elekid

and theres no number 16.

yes or no replys and if yes, can you please choose which pokemon :D

by the way...I'd have a snowrunt, zangoose, or Magby

no on magikarp as a starter. none of its moves would be affective.

Hmm, it would probably throw the entire game out of whack, you know? Starters are starters for a reason, there's only one in the game. That would mean only one of the fifteen Pokemon in the game, imagine the trading you'd have to go through to get all the starters. in the entire game, Think about starting out with a level 5 Feebas(For the sheer reason for the almight Milotic), and your Rival having a Level 5 Pichu (who's first attack is Thundershock). It's an interesting concept, but with the lack of any of the starters to be available in the game (and if not, it completely goes against everything Pokemon has created) then what's the fun in not being able to capture multitudes of the others? And no spontanously appearing Zigzagoons, why, I don't know what I would think.

So no, I don't think I'd be that great of an idea.
But if I had to pick, I'd end up picking a Houndour.

Lol, Magikarp starter... how do you propose to make any progress in the game whatsoever that way? Make Splash actually do something besides taunt your opponent if they are living?

No, it's not a very good idea. The starters are a sort of tradition in the game that makes the Pokémon series what they are. It's like removing the Bad Guys (Team Rocket, Galactic etc.) or the Gyms. Pokémon wouldn't be Pokémon any more without them.

what if whatever pokemon you picked, the game selected two other random pokemon, then you couldn't catch them in the wild. also, magikarp/feebas would start with bubble and tail whip, and learn maybe: water gun at lvl. 8, rowl at lvl. 10. then flail, tackle and then maybe, water pulse/bubble beam next. you could pay for an item to beef up the beuty etc. so you could get milotic after gym number 4 or something. i dont know, so when you answer, asume it was the perectly thought out thing.

it wasn't, and maybe i should have thought it through a bit more thoroughly first. :bawl:

Magikarp and feebas would also have as good stats as other pokemon.

But then that's changing the entire game. Magikarp is supposed to be incredibley hard to level up (and worth approximately 500 Pokadollars from the original games), causing you to have to be able to work to get the almighty Gyarados.

Feebas gets decent attacks, it's a little bit better than Magikarp.

And think of the gym set up. What if you choose Snorunt and the first few gyms are Fire, Rock, and Steel? You're pretty much screwed. Hard.

well, it would be just like other games after you start, you catch some pokemon, level them up. build a team, win the game. and maybe the could do something cool like put an evolutionary form in between gyrados and magikarp and call it Magikeel, it could be somewhere in between the two. smae goes for milotic and feebas, it could be called Pikeas or somrthing. i don't know... use your imagination.

They won't put any evolutions between existing Pokémon. As a rule that's been followed by everything in all the generations, new evolutions and pre-evolutions can only be obtained in ways that didn't exist in the previous generation(s).

Actually, it kinda is a good idea (and im not saying that to make you feel better). i would pick Pichu. And its a good idea becuz You dont have to start out with the same 3 pokemon Over and Over again, ive already beaten the game with the 2 first pokemon, Piplup and Chimchar...... IT WAS BORING!!!!! so yes this is a good idea~!!!!!!! :D

courtnee, I would strongly advise reading the rules again. Posting in a month-old thread is bumping, a type of SPAM. I'm going to have to warn you for that.
