Then, I shall use your profile as a base for my new idea: an addition to, oh, you almost made me say it.
Hakanovia. One of the largest islands in Ulterphane. Hakanovia is shaped like a human spine, and half of it is covered by a dense forest. It is a grey mountain islands, and its one city, Hakanovia Peak, prospers with ore from the rich mountains.

OOC: Thanks, that was was enough to spark an idea into my head.
__________
Xion stared at his sword with delight, each movement of his katana made it gleam as the bright sun above him reflected off of the shiny silver surface of the cold katana. He begun to wield his sword in a fancy fashion, as though he was testing the weight and aerodynamics of the blade. Once he was satisfied with his Soul Katana, he stopped. He gazed at the magnificent scenery in front of him on the highest peak of his hometown in Hakanovia Peak. The blue, cloud-scarce sky overhanging the lush green forest, and the golden Sun seemed to harmoniously blend together to give a mystical and majestic background that scoffed at the most beautiful of paintings. The winds fluttered calmly, gently making Xion's long white hair sway over his frosted purple eyes.
"My home has given me such wonders." He said aloud to himself, smiling. He then looked back at his blade, "And this... Made from the most luxurious of ores in Ulterphane, is the gift I am given for my quest. It is sad to leave such beauty behind, but I am young, and have much time ahead of me to stand here and gaze at my wonderous home. I need to go out and fullfil my dream of searching for new sensations, new people, and learning new things." Xion added with a deep sigh, and turned to head back into town to head out on his journey. He also had another goal; to become one of the all time great mages in Ulterphane. He slowly walked to the centre of town, constantly looking back into the horizon, hoping to one day see it again; still as beautiful as he left it.

OOC: I don't feel right updating somebody so much better than I. I feel bad.
Hakanovia was one of the most peaceful places in Ulterphane. The city was never attacked, for it was too high on the mountain to be attacked, and the two gates into the city were guarded at all times. Yes, Hakanovia was a very nice place to live. The sea kept it cool and calm, yet warm at night. It almost seemed too good.
Xion walked to the gates, eagerly awaiting his wandering into the world. He stood in front of the gates, but suddenly a thought flashed his mind: were there any things he wanted to close or finish before he left?

OOC: Don't be. My main reason I'm as good as I am now is because of this place anyway.
__________
Xion stopped and thought for a moment. There was somebody he was thinking of saying goodbye to, but whom it was he'd forgotten. All of a sudden he remembered. "Maybe I should say goodbye to grandfather first..." He uttered. He quickly turned and hurried to his grandfather's house a few houses away. He stepped into the large stone house, and was greeted warmly by his grandfather. As he stepped in, he noticed all of the old books that he had on magic, some of which his grandfather had written himself. "Grandfather..." Xion started, "I am going to venture outside these walls. I will be going on my own journey, just as father did." He said proudly.

"Thank you Grandpa, I will!!" Xion said tearfully, wiping one droplet away before he left. Out of the gates of Hakanovia he walked, taking in the final breath of freshness from his home, and sighing happily as he set off on his quest, Soul Katana in hand. As he took the nervous few steps on his journey, Xion wondered what he would see, what new experiences and people he would meet. Each time he looked back in the direction of his home, now fading into the distances, he looked down at his weapon and smiled. He had a piece of his hometown with him in his hand. It was something that meant a lot to Xion. The blade was forged by his father’s friend, a blacksmith called Tala, and the purple gem was specially placed into the hilt to capture the very meaning of the colour. It is a complement to Xion, for purple is the colour of wisdom, the colour of dignity, the colour of mystery and of magic; qualities that Xion has beyond all doubt.

Luckily, the harbor was not far away from the city. It seemed more popular. There were many people and many ships...
Wait...
There have never been that many people at the harbor...

What on earth was going on here? Why so many prople all of a sudden? Those were the questions riddling Xion's mind frequently, as he surveyed the vast amount of people situated upon the habour. Boats were docking, but they did not look like the same boats he'd seen here months previous, this made Xion feel much more suspicious than before. In fact, this whole scenario seemed out of sync. Xion's Soul Katana was unsheathed instantly, and he walked over to the boats slowly. Something was not right here, He could sense it.

As Xion marched closer, he heard a man yell to the group.
"Come, join the ranks of the best army in all of Illuyad! Fight for the great army, the best in Illuyad!"

Xion became a little agitated with the mans preachings, and clenched his fists, willing himself not to bite back. Why has this man come to a peaceful place to talk about war? Why are people listening to this crazy fool's hollow and ever so cheap words? What 'great army' is he talking about? Those were the questions that swamped Xion's mind, making him more and more frustrated with the man. After listening to the man for a little longer, he exploded. (not literally, though it would be funny.)
"Listen you!!" Xion bellowed forcefully, "You are sending these people to their deaths, and for what? Many of these people have seen too many, or two few winters. You can't expect them to become part of this 'great Army of Illuyad' Do you?"

"Silence, you! I am telling these brave and able-bodied men about Brills, the greatest army in Illuyad. The pay starts at over seven hundred coins per hour! You get the best equipment, and get to work with excellent warriors from everywhere! You should join!"

Xion looked change from anger to that of intrigue. He scratched his chin with his thumb as he thought about the proposal put forward by the man. "Hmmm, The best equipment you say?" Xion asked.
"Yes!" The man replied.
"... And excellent warriors?" He asked again, smiling.
"indeed!" The man replied.
"And seven hundred coins for one hour is very impressive." Xion stated, nodding.
The man walked up close to Xion and stared into his eyes, "So you're going to sign up?" the man asked, certain that he would convince him to join. Xion looked at the man, who was standing a nose length away from his face. Xion stared seriously for a few seconds, then let out an infectious laugh. The man howled along with Xion, both laughed until one stopped; Xion. "As if i'll join this so called 'army'." He snapped, "These people are being bribed, they aren't brave at all. They be lucky to see seven gold an hour from people like you. In fact, they wouldn't even last long enough to see a hour's services!!"

"You know nothing of Brills! You're annoying me, so I suggest you leave now."
The man grabbed a metal staff and held it firmly. He bent down into a fighting stance, and was ready to fight.
"Unless, you want to fight."

OOC: This is to show the Fire Emblem guys a taster of what is to come.
__________
Xion did nothing. He did not need to either; it wasn’t him who proposed the fight. As he looked at the man, he shuffled his feet to move into a much more upright stance, making himself taller than he already was. Xion pulled his head into the light, and moved the fringe from away from his eyes. A grin formed as he thought about the chance to battle. The man’s pale grey eyes looked up a Xion’s mystical purple eyes, an expression of abhor shrouded his once calm facial features. “So, what’ll it be?” He said through gritted teeth. Xion laughed, “Do you rank highly?” The man smirked, “I am Corporal of the Brill Naval Guard.” the Corporal replied with great pride. Xion glanced away and sighed, then looked back snickering. “So you’ll be worth wasting my time on then?”
At this comment, the officer became livid. His expression changed instantly to an expression of rage. His sense of pride; diminished by a mere stranger, in front of a horde of onlookers too. He bared gritted teeth at Xion, who looked on without feeling. He seemed calm, whereas the Corporal’s rage bubbled inside of him. Suddenly, the man broke into a sprint, hunting down Xion with his staff held behind him; ready to take a swipe at the mage. Xion drew Soul Katana, and positioned himself sideward. Now within striking distance, the man threw his arm round with some force to hit Xion, but Xion backflipped away from the attack, narrowly missing his heels and he planted his widely stretched hand onto the dusty floor. Pushing downward, Xion propelled himself over onto his feet, and began to slash away at the Corporal.
The Corporal blocked each blow with great timing, and started to break into an offence of his own. This pushed Xion back and forced him into think of another tactic. The man’s talent with a weapon is great. Xion ruminated, But how is he with facing magic… Xion managed to eventually halt the angry Corporal’s onslaught, pinning the staff to the floor with his katana. Xion gave a fleeting grin as he stared at his irate opponent. As he expected, this angered him more, and he furiously fought with Xion to free his trapped staff. “You know… My skills with a weapon are nothing compared to my spell casting abilities.” Xion stated with poise. The man’s eyes widened with apprehension as Xion quickly sheathed his Soul Katana and thrusted out his left palm.
“Infernos!!”
A sudden shockwave of intense fire erupted from Xion's hand just a feet or so from his target, causing the Corporal to be swept off of his feet and be engulfed in a momentary blaze. The crowd wailed and scattered as the Corporal fell between them, with Xion looking on; waiting.

OOC: A nice post. Even though the Clubs and Clans fighters would call it DF quality (which is BAD), I quite like it.
The sun blazed over the stone port. A man stood on the ground, badly burned. Perhaps, in some sort of a blind rage, he charged at Xion, reigniting his embers, in hopes of killion Xion before he himself died.

OOC: Yeah, I still have much less RP experience than C&C fighters, so in all fairness, I don't mind. But this war gives me a little more much needed experience.
__________
The man was in terrible pain from the burns sustained in the inferno. His clothes, still smoking from the blast, hung loosely from him, barely held together by a single thread of wool. Nevertheless, the man romped menacingly towards Xion, who readied himself again. This time, Xion was intent on finishing this battle quickly; he didn't want to kill the man, but felt that his hand was forced and that he must do it for his own sake. He started to generate a sphere of holy energy, digging deep within himself to muster enough strength to wipe him off the face of existance, and leave no trace. However, the man's charge was much quicker than expected, and Xion cursed as he brought his arm around to face him.
"Aura Strike!!"
A raging white beam stormed thunderously toward the Corporal with electrifying pace, leaving no time for the hapless man to do but to receive the powerful attack. As it hit, it consumed its victim in a glorious white light. Such a wonderful display for such a terrible end. Xion thought as he stared on as the light expanded and the fighter disappeared from view. Xion turned, walking away from the light as it faded, but heard a loud blast from behind him. "What the? This isn't part of the attack..." Xion muttered as he covered his face from the dust kicked up by the explosion. As the dust settled and the light vanished completely, there stood the Corporal; panting heavily with blood trickling down his arm and face.

Xion stood with his mouth gaping open in dumbfounded, he couldn't understand how it was possible. He tried to think of possiblities, but none of them matched the situation. It became clear that whatever happened inside the light caused an explosion, but what? What could cause the attack to disperse so forcefully? Xion stared wonderously at the blooded Corporal, who looked as belwildered as he did. After a long silence, Xion understood that the Corporal must have done something to cause the explosion from within. "What happened within the ball of light? Think. Tell me what you remember..." Xion asked with urgency.

Xion walked over to the badly injured Corporal and placed a hand on his neck. He was still alive; barely. Xion suddenly felt a sense of sympathy for the man and lifted him to his feet on his shoulder, the claret staining his own robe. He walked him to a nearby house that held a known necromancer of the harbour. Xion knew the man as Mr. Lekneo, and had been there a few times for various mishaps with his magic back when he was young. Xion looked at the limp Naval officer, he hoped to find out how the explosion happened by saving the Corporal.

"Excuse us for bothering you Mr. Lekneo, but I was duelling with this man and now he's in a bad state. Is there anything you can do for him?" Xion politely spoke with maturity and respect. Mr. Lekneo hurried them in and shut the door behind them. He scurried over to a small room and pointed inside. "Put him in there, then I can see his injuries." Lekneo said impatiently. Xion nodded and walked into the fairly large room. The room was chock full of various spellbooks and potions glittering the stony grey walls. Xion gently placed the drained naval officer onto the bed and stepped aside to let Mr. Lekneo examine him.
"I'll wait outside..." Xion said softly. He knew that Lekneo didn't like people watching over him as he worked, and sat down in a comfy chair in the main living room. A warm fire lit the otherwise dinky dark room in a subtle orange glow; rather calming. Xion took the bag containing his books from his back and took out a book; Shadow's Light.

Basics of Dark Magic
Dark Magic is, in no way evil. It is simply a different kind of magic. Those who use Dark Magic for the wrong reasons are who give it a bad reputation.
Dark Magic can be used to heal the sick, raise the dead, or turn the tide of battle. It can do many things. So, you might be thinking, why doesn't Dark Magic see a wide use? It is due to Dark Magic's way of working. Dark Magic is quite difficult to control, so only a select few can control it..."
The book goes on to say how to control Dark Magic, as well as offering suggestions.
"Now, you might be wondering how to become started on your journey of this amazing magic. There is a spell that all Dark Mages should learn to use, and I will teach it to you right now."
Learned Dark Pulse (Lv.1, Xion hurls a ball of dark energy at a foe.)

After reading the book and acquiring the new spell, Xion further delve into the book, reading carefully on how changes in mood greatly affect the amount of power the spell has. The book carried one to talk about the mood states that most affect each spell. It seemed that Dark Pulse was mostly compatable with any mood, making it a viable option for first time users of dark magic. A few more minutes past by before Mr. Lekneo returned to Xion, who clapped the book shut. "How's he doing?" He asked.
