View Full Version : My plans for Illuyad...

Okay, let's face it: This is just a small little game forum, and money doesn't really matter, right? It doesn't matter, because this is just a small forum and an even smaller game, right?
Quite true. I will even admit nothing here really matters. Hell, I honestly don't care if this forum is deleted. Failing a mod vote for a second time doesn't exactly strike the idea of ever having power.
That will change.
I plan to turn Illuyad into an MMO. I have almost everything already planned out, from the battle system to character creation, and various other things. I also hope this MMO will become one of the popular ones, not one of the games with five people online at a time.
But, that will take years upon years. Currently, I am learning HTML code in my Advanced Computers class, and later we will learn to make websites. By June or July 2008, I hope to have created an official Illuyad website, filled with all of the histories and events never listed here. It will be both a base for constructing the MMO, and also for offering all of you a true grasp of the world of Illuyad.

Luke, you have really great plans but I truely think that you need to start looking at things on a smaller scale, take things in smaller steps.
First of all you need to clean up this particular forum, put a request in to have things merged together and delete unneeded threads. Take this current forum and cut out the unnecessary parts and start simple again. Your plans are awesome, but you also need to think about the present.
(I'm back by the way)

This is really my life dream. I'm just telling you all so you know.
Besides, June/July is still far off. I have time to learn.
I could TRY to work on the forum, but it isn't very necessary.

...Luke, to blow off this forum is pretty selfish.
There are a bunch of people here, including myself, that have put a lot of time and effort into making this a great RP experience, and to trivialize all of that is just rude.
The forum is the main thing, first and foremost, and you'll receive MUCH more support if you work to help this first.

Luke, what the hell. I'm completely with Ryan on this. To have such a selfish manner is disgusting, quite frankly. Failing a mod vote is no reason to desert this forum and work on making Illuyad better in the next 10 years, which I don't see happening anyway. Perhaps you should stick to the forum. Maybe then it wouldn't be in such a dilapidated state.

I'm on their sides... I know I 'quit' (it was for reasons personal to us and I don't want to bais the other members) but I still feel that these other people have had a strong hold into Illuyad and you should accept their ideas. If you want to let this die and focus on the things 'you' want to (You said the MMO wasn't even what you truely wanted to do when we were together), that DOES NOT mean for you to ignore this forum.
No offense Luke, but Illuyad is a typical MMO and would remind me too much of Runescape. It's nice you want to follow your dreams for this, but don't get so headstrong you forget about where it started. :/

Luke, we're not trying to make your ideas sound stupid, we're just urging you to get your priorities in order.
Work on making THIS Illuyad the best it can be, streamline it, make it simple and effective, and once it has a stronger base, THEN work on the MMO like you want to.
Or, blow us off and all of our hard work, time, and development for something that you're going to start from scratch. Your choice.

First, never call me selfish. Ever.
Second, the Illuyad website would include a forum for role-playing. I would just move it to my website so things could be better worked. Here, I have no "official" power. There, it would be its own website, and possibly also have more exposure than this site.

I never said I would delete this forum, would I? I would never delete it. I just feel if I had my own website, being able to have absolute control over it would make Illuyad seem more personal. Right now, it is just shared on Al's site. He could delete this at any time, along with the admins. If I had Illuyad on my site, as long as I paid for the domain hosting, you guys would have unrestricted access to it.
Besides, I would have a server that would not crash frequently. Also, I would be able to offer more things, much more things, than what I can do here. And, I would try to move everything to the new site.

I would not ignore it. I would still highly value it. I would just be putting more effort into the website than posting on here.

Illuyad would be NOTHING like ANY other MMO. I have so many things already planned out for it.
Work on making THIS Illuyad the best it can be, streamline it, make it simple and effective, and once it has a stronger base, THEN work on the MMO like you want to.
Moving it to another site would allow a much stronger base. The MMO idea? I need to first make a company, and get investors to invest in it to earn money for it. I would try that around age twenty-two or twenty-three. No worries yet.
Or, blow us off and all of our hard work, time, and development for something that you're going to start from scratch. Your choice.
I would never do that.

Well you do realize you can request Vash to do certain things, like what to sticky and unsticky. I've been thinking about writing up a plan to make this particular forum a little simpler and more appealing, I would appreciate it if you would look at it when I'm finished.

Of course I will read it.
Yes, I can ask Vash to sticky and close threads. Honestly, though. Would you rather have a website where you could do anything, or have to always ask somebody to do it?

Of course that's the ideal thing, but for now you can make the best of what you have right now. I think it would be awesome for Illuyad to have it's own website, game, etc. But you also need to think in the present.

I can work on this forum AND the website at the same time.

Oaky, well first off, if you aren't going to be blowing this forum, then what on earth are you going to do with it?
And saying you wouldn't mind if this was deleted is a bit of a p*ss take for the rest of us really, because most of us have stood by you at your lowest. You are are trying to do more than you need to, which is always a bad thing. Take this place easy okay?
I love the idea of this being an MMO, and in the future I might join it, but that'll take a while yet, so keep with this for now and work on the MMO as a side project.

Yeah, Luke, it didn't seem like you really cared much about all of the work we put into THIS Illuyad.
I could TRY to work on the forum, but it isn't very necessary.
It is necessary, it really is, because we need to get this back on its feet, I don't want to lose all of the work, and I know you don't eiter.

I second that statement. You aren't the only one to put in effort, Luke.

(This post, in no way, is an insult to anybody.)
What do you do besides the profile? I make the side-forums, I make the places, and I try to make everything better for people. Honestly, what do others do?

I’ve suggested multiple times things that you can do to make the forum a little better and more attractive. Yeah I can’t exactly do everything that you do because I’m not the creator.

And where would those side boards be if we weren't here to use them huh? What if there wouldn't have been any profiles? Where would Illuyad be. The answer; it wouldn't be anywhere!!
Oh and Reneida, home of the now shambled Falcon Clan, wasn't something I made up in my profile? Glarhaden wasn't another example of a place I made up In Timespliter's profile ages ago?

I didn't create the ENTIRE Order of Dukas? Raijin? Seivi, for Christ's sake?
Yeah, Luke, we've done things on here that other members on other forums would never put in the effort to do because we found it fun and we respected and liked you enough to help.
Aura

and we respected and liked you
I could never count the people who would disagree with that statement.
In case you have not noticed, I am trying to make Illuyad different. Example: Ferla. I do not want to use the cliche races of other games. I want a whole new experience. I appreciate the few of you for helping.

If you do manage to do anything about making that Illuyad website, I would like to help you in managing it.

Why would Luke ask someone who isn't even a member of Illuyad to help him manage that site?

He is a member, I think, but he's done, well, bubkis.
