Gee...... How can ANYONE guess who the other coach besides Forest is..... For those that don't wanna be possible spoiled don't read. IMO it's obviously gunna be Stephan Bonnar. Griffin vs Bonnar 2. That would be like WW3. Haha.
Just a ok show. The Richie vs.....(I seem to have forgot who) was a awsome fight. I really though Jon Koloski has skills but he has lost his past 3 fights.

actually, the rumor going around is that the other coach is Rampage setting up the title shot since Forrest is the #1 contender. i don't know why i put spoilers in there. who knows if it's right.

They already had Forrest v. Stephan 2. Troy Mandaloniz was the guy you were thinking of. An Ok show to be if there were no really good fights on the show. I thought the card was good overall we had two really awesome fights. Where it looked like one guy was in control and the other guy came back.

Insane.....Your right about Forest and Stephan 2. My bad. Stephan was gone so long that I forgot most of his past fights. I think if it was Rampage then Forest's team would suck. No offense to Forrest but I personally don't think he'd make a great coach.

December 9th, 2007, 01:31 PM
I disagree with you there. I think Forrest will be a good choice. He knows what it's like to be in the house and go through what they are going through. All i hear about Forrest is how he works hard every day. He is non stop. I think he showed a lot in the fight against a guy many people thought was the best fighter at 205 against Mauricio Rua. I think he will be good choice for coach.

Yeah, so it has been confirmed that Forrest Griffin and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson are the two coaches.

Interesting idea about having Forrest do it. His experience in TUF could provide invaluable.

Austin.
January 2nd, 2008, 01:05 PM
But if there is someone like Joey next season then Forest will have a better chance of keeping the guy and explaining that the house will get the best of you blah blah blah.
But in the end Ramp's will win.
But I'm a big Forest mark so I'm hoping Forest will bring something like he brought to Ortiz and not Jardine :D

I don't see how there will be any competition for the ramps forest fight.
Rampage will dominate Forest.
Look at what he did to Liddell.
It may have been a fluke, but Chuck sure didn't KO Ramps did he?

If anyone thinks the recent Rampage/Liddell fight was a fluke maybe they should watch Chuck get his ass handed to him for over 10 minutes before his corner threw the towel in when they fought in Pride previously. Rampage is just a horrible style matchup for Liddell, and I feel the same way with Forrest. Rampage's wrestling >>> Griffen's, his standup is better, plus he has an iron chin and Forrest doesn't have a whole lot of punching power. I think Forrest is the type of fighter that can make things a scrap and competitive no matter who he's fighting, but his chances in this one are very slim imo.

I agree on your thoughts with Griffin/Jackson, and I echo the sentiment that anyone who has not seen the Pride fight between Liddell & Rampage should watch it. Jackson has Liddell's number, no doubt.

At first, I was skeptical about potentially legit contenders getting bumped off before even making it, but I really warmed up to Dana's idea of fighting your way onto the show.

Jeremy May is my early pick to win the entire competition.

Pretty weak lineup. It seems with each new season, the talent level drops. After looking over a complete list of the cast, the ones that stood out to me with just a chance of winning the show are Steve Byrnes, CB Dollaway, Dante Rivera, and Timothy Credeur. If I had to put early money on it, I'd take either Byrnes or Rivera.

Okay, gentlebeings, I have been a little out of the loop lately. Ironically, I'm in the process of moving to Las Vegas over the next month, so I'll be in and out. But I'm surprised to see so little action on discussing TUF. What do you think so far? Are you picking one team over the other, or are you pulling for specific fighters? Also, are any of you familiar with any of the fighters that are on the show this season?

convict00187
April 21st, 2008, 02:41 AM
The season started off pretty good because it was just fights and not The Real World type antics the show's mainly become known for...but judging from the season preview those will happen soon enough. I don't know...I could just care less about this show at this point. They bring guys on because of their personalities, not their talent. The only dudes I'd heard of prior to this show are the ones I predicted to have a shot at winning, but even these guys don't have much of an upside in that I can't foresee anyone coming off this show and making major waves in the middleweight division. I'll still watch, just 'cause I watch just about everything MMA, only this season I imagine I'll be hitting the fast forward button on the TiVo a lot more often

I have really been waiting on the replay for the show. I missed it. Why, I have no clue....
Hey Storm, start trainin in MMA and maybe you can get on the show since your right in the same city :D

Haha, I like how I've been talking tons of crap about this show...but so far I'm actually really enjoying these season. I think that this is the only season that I am not rooting for a coach. Instead, I'm picking a winner on a fight-by-fight basis. I am really pulling for a Rampage victory to even things up...but only after Matt Brown splits that punks skull open.

Oh, BTW, "I didn't win the fight or the contract, BUT I GET AN XBOX 360! Woo!" Any relation, Austin? :tease2:

Anybody still watching TUF?! I'm going to go ahead and pick my fighter, since I don't want to pick between the coaches. I really like Matt Brown. It really did my heart good to see him almosy kick Jeremy May's head off his shoulders. I was also glad to see Rampage's team finally secure a victory.

Jeremy May is one of the worst fighters in TUF history. His stand up was so pathetic it was almost embarrassing to watch. I don't know why Brown started so slow, it looked like he coulda taken May out whenever he wanted to if he just stepped up the pace.

Seems like nobody has a gas tank this season. Both Brown and May were burned out 3 mintues into the first round. And the second fight between Luke and country club (can't remember the name) was even worst. They were spent 2 minutes in.

Dean
May 10th, 2008, 11:43 AM
They have a gas tank, but with increasing fuel costs... sorry, had to make the joke.

I haven't watched TUF since the second episode because I don't think any of the fighters are that impressive, honestly. If what I saw from the fights to get on the show were indicative of their will to fight and their skills, then I think this might be the worst TUF season yet in terms of fighter talent.

The coaches for season eight of The Ultimate Fighter will feature two of the UFC’s all-time top heavyweights. Interim UFC heavyweight champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, will star in the new season featuring light heavyweights (205 lbs) and lightweights (155 lbs) premiering Wednesday, September 17 at 10:00pm ET/PT.
Hm. Thought it was weird that they already announced the coaches for next season when this one's not even half over yet. I take this as a hint that Couture is leaving, and Mir will fight Nog for the title when this is through.

Wow Just watched the Sanchez-Fioravanti and the Amir-Dollaway fight and man what great fights. WARNING I AM ABOUT TO POST SPOILERS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ IT SKIP MY POST.

Sanchez won after a beautiful head kick and a running knee and then punched the crap out of Luigi Fioravanti. Dollaway tapped to the arm bar again though he says he didn't but i think i saw a tap.

The Dustin Hazlette fight was amazing i watched it on the UFC website and man Hazlette has crazy submissions. The way he pulled that armbar out man was something else. I guess I was the only one who watched the event.

I finally had an opportunity to sit down and watch the Finale. I was very happy to see Amir pull it off. He was hilarious in winning (he makes me think of Chevy Chase). I was hoping that Tanner would win, but it was a great fight. Diego looked really good as well.

I'm not sure who C.B. thought he was kidding. He tapped, and I thought it was disrespectful to Amir to pretend that he didn't. It may be like they were saying; that he surprised himself in tapping, but anyway...

I turned on Spike at 11 to watch TNA and TUF was on instead (they changed the replay for iMPACT!). So I decided to watch.

A decision I later regretted.

This sh*t is out of hand...

Somebody didn't like people eating his fruit salad so he and others on his team peed in it and waited for the guys to eat it and told them about it.

Philippe Nover, one of the guys who ate the fruit, was mad over sushi that was also specially ordered for him being eaten, so he and others jacked off in the sushi and had the culprit eat some.

This is horrible. I don't know what the f*ck is going on with UFC or TUF. This is just disgusting.

I turn on TUF to watch guys train and fight.

And the fact that Austin and apparently UFC think this sh*t is going to get ratings is pathetic.

I have a feeling the whole thing was rigged, to be honest. I kind of hope it was, but at the same time, that'd make it almost even more pathetic, that they think this is the proper way to build up to a fight as the climax of the show or some sh*t... I don't know.

It just seemed weird that the two guys who were going to fight would happen to be involved in this.

Just disgusting, really. The show is now pathetic.

EDIT:

And now Junie is giving away secrets about his own teammate.

This sh*t has to be f*cking rigged... This is getting more "entertainment oriented" by the minute... My god...

UFC is the WWE of MMA... :(

No, no it doesn't.

The guy didn't "fight mad." And don't you think it's a REALLY BIG COINCIDENCE that the guys involved in the whole sushi incident happened to be fighting each other?

The guy fought like a moron. He went in, took four or five punches to the face, and got choked out in a minute.

It wasn't good for TV. TUF actually got lower ratings this week (around a 1.0, when they normally get somewhere between 1.2 and 1.4).

I have a question.

Is ratings based on how many people watch the show that week? Or does a said group of people rate the show?

I have a question.

Is ratings based on how many people watch the show that week? Or does a said group of people rate the show?

Nielsen ratings are a lot like the polls they do for the elections. They take a small group of people (in this case small is relative... it's usually in the several thousands) and they're representative of a variety of people based on demographics - race, age, region of the country, gender, etc.

Anyway, a 1.0 rating means 1% of the audience watching TV was watching TUF. It has nothing to do with actually "rating" how good the show is. It's just a process used to determine what show had the most viewers. A 1.0 means around 1.2 or 1.3 million people watched, to the best of my knowledge. Nielsen has some stuff on their site about how their ratings process works.

I still just think it's too coincidental that the two guys who were fighting were the only ones who actually got mad about it and were involved in the jacking off in the sushi incident.

Austin.

I wish they'd go back like from the 1st season, and have like challenges and stuff.

That was good TV.

Not Jerkin Off in the sushi.

Dean
November 12th, 2008, 10:49 PM
Yeah, exactly. The first few seasons, when they would have different challenges to perform... that was great. I miss those days.

Now I think the guys have too much time on their hands, lol.

I remember season one when they had to carry water up the flights of stairs and stuff, and whoever got all the water on the stairs the fastest was the winner... those sorts of challenges, and then the winner got to pick who fought whom.

But now they do it based on momentum, the winner of the last fight picks the next fight and so on.

I just think they need to spice the show up a bit. Semen-covered sushi ain't gonna cut it.
