I think there should have been more flood attacking you before you got to the warthog. The last level seemed kinda short also.
The first time I played it, I immediately thought of the last level of Halo 1. :P

Yeah, that'd be what Bungie were trying to replicate.
Do you think it is a good thing or a bad thing that they didn't have a time limit this time?

There was a time limit, in a way. If you waited too long, the section you were on would collapse and you would die.

Sort of...but why would anyone just sit there and wait?

Sometimes you'll flip over and have a hard time getting back to your hog.

personally I hated it, because it was short, and the warthog section was just stupid, what the hell was I driving on? :\

You were driving on the underlying structure of the Halo itself, the framework upon which the dirt and ground and rock are all placed on.

I thought it was only hard on the warthog part... seriously, both my allies died against the last boss and I shot him a few times and then shot him twice with the laser... Very sad.

It took me and my friends awhile to finish the driving part on Heroic, but once we got the pathways down and didn't run into the carrier type Flood that explode, we did pretty well. I ddin't mind it, I thought it was really cool how Bungie kind of payed homage to the original.

I am sort of that way. I LOVED going back to the ring, but I thought the wart hog part was lame...it was much cooler in the first game. Also I am not a fan of these bosses that have been in H2 and H3

I thought it was about medium.I beat it on legendary so thats probably why i think it was a little bit hard. But it was quite fun. It's favortie halo ending.Where you drive warthog it just seemed intresting. But level was kinda short and i thought youd fight something more hard at the end instead of the computer(which was really easy). But

I didnt like those check points where you had to pretty much slow down and turn, where the extra warthogs are located, I feel it takes away from the feel of the final level.

It was quite easy, as were the last levels in both the other games. I think they made the driving part to easy and fighting only flood for the whole level made it seem like the library all over again...

True it was easy, but i know in the first game, it was fun, the time limit...all the explosions, it was cool...and it wasnt a cake walk on legendary...i died a couple times...gotta be a good driver.

Yeah, the Maw was actually quite fun, it had all the enemies you fought throughout the game and all the weapons (aside from the sniper rifle). I think in alot of way bungie was trying to make Halo 3 reminiscent of Halo CE, I really loved the "keep your head down, there's two of us in here remember?" line and Installation 00 looked alot like the original Halo, but with better graphics, I really liked those elements.

I thought it was very fun, driving on a half-finished, exploding Halo. not that hard though, and I was playing by myself on Heroic.

I had fun with the last level but it could've been a little harder. I played it co-op on heroic with my brother my first time through. The game wasn't too bad on heroic. Easier than Halo 2. Less snipers in the game... The driving part wasn't too bad though. My shields never went down. So that was too easy.

Yea i thought that was annoying also having to go around those walls. Also i got mad about was that i hit a flood and it blew up and made me flip over and lose time. Also first time i did it was funny because somehow my friend went fast enough and hit hard that he went in to the middle of it and drove through it lol.

short or not it was a lot of fun. I hate the flood, so I was thankful to have some simple, plain ol' driving to take me to the end of the level.

I dont think it had that huge feel the first one had with its last level. The scale doesnt seem as big...maybe because we have done it before. Not enough action for a final level in my opinion, still was fun though.

I agree with him i hated dealing with flood as he said i enjoyed driving a warthog to the end of the halo!

It was short, but fun. I loved driving but I hated the flood that make you flip I must have flipped four times. The ground only fell out on me once. It was great but could have been better. I liked the start there was lots of flood it was a good way to "finish the fight"

There still is a time limit of sorts, as Yayap said earlier. The entire structure collapses behind you, so you're f*cked if you don't go fast enough.

I thought the warthog part was fun, it really gave you a challenge to meet a goal in a limited time. Plus we occasionally drove off the edge for fun. :D

Yea thats what happened to me i was doing the mission and i flipped and i thought my warthog was gonna go over so i sat there for a second and got back in and the floor fell beneath me.

I haven't played it in ages. But I'm glad there wasn't a serious time limit, it took me and my brother a few tries to get out alive. Stupid time bomb.

quagmire's right,halo1 definently had an awsome last battle, but halo 2 and 3 missed the mark by a lot,but still halo 2 and 3 are overall better games

The last level sucked, especially when Silent Kayos is driving your warthog...

Somehow, I voted no, but don't ever remember voting in this thread.
I think that yes, the last is a little to easy, but I bet that if you play Legendary with the Mythic skull turned on, and it would probably be a living hell.
Something else to make the level harder (the end part anyways) is driving through the end on a mongoose.
For those who are like, "Wha? What mongoose?", when you hop on the hog, hug the left hand wall and follow it until you get to the part where all hell is starting to break loose. There's a lone mongoose one the left corner there. It looks tiny with the Arbiter on board (the Arbiter is a pretty big guy). Just trying to keep it upright is hard enough but when you got hoards of flood to dodge, it just gets harder. It's really fun to drive because of it maneuverability.

There are also Choppers when you go righ towards the floor area, but its to the lfet before you actually start driving on them. They're only there on Heroic or higher.

I never noticed the mongoose or chopper... Should be more interesting now...
Also, I can't remember voting 'yes'... and I'm pretty sure I would have voted 'no' anyway... so that's a bit wierd...

i found the mongoose after i beat it the first time
i went back because for some reason the game wont give me an achievement for it, and then i went lookin around randomely.
I found it alot more fun with the mongoose. It is fast and manueverable...and it had no weapon, because i didnt wait for the arbiter. HAHA.
But it was alot morew fun with the mongoose, and somewhat easier in my opinion.
I dont like how if you use the mongoose the film part still shows the warthog, i woul;d think in H3 they woulda fixed sumthin like that to be able to include either or, depending on which you took.

I found it difficult for two reason. One because when we hit a check point and when we died it spawned me out of the vehicle and two because it was set up so badly you couldn't tell where to go. It was annoying more then difficult. And when my friend backed up to pick me up he ran me over and then finished without me. I wasn't happy. I still can't get over the mass amount of glitches in this game. Not the quality I'd expect for a game then sold more copies then any other game in history.

Halo 1 has been out a good 6 years too. However if you put them side by side sales wise Halo 3 is most likely doubling it's sales at the same point during it's launch. I think I butchered that sentence but you know what I'm talking about.

i believe he meant it sold more copies in (the first however many days its been out) than any other game in history. I believe it is a fact that it had te largest opening couple of days in the history of gaming.

that was way too easy... i was able to play it on heroic without even breaking a sweat.. and then the boss!? omg.. it dissapointed me..

October 18th, 2007, 03:11 AM
The fact that there even was a boss is what dissapointed me. Halo games should not be about bosses, and Bungie definately got the picture after Halo 2 - well, they certainly didn't include any in Halo 3 apart from Guilty Spark...
However, the fact that I finally got to kill that annoying f*cker completely overcame any annoyance that there was a boss battle.

yea, i have been tryin to kill him for the past 2 games, whether he was friend or foe at the time. i unloaded everything, just to listen to his annoying voice.
