View Full Version : The Kingdom of Artica

Requiem
August 2nd, 2007, 07:15 PM
Kingdom of Artica

It has been roughly 50 years since the last great war in Filgaia. The demons have been destroyed and peace has been brought back to Filgaia. Artica Castle has been restored and the sister kingdom of Adlehyde is flourishing.

The noble "Dream Chasers", who protected Filgaia from the demon threat have aged and become feeble. Theres is no one left to protect Filgaia from threats from other worlds. There is something that the people of Filgaia do not yet know about.

The Guardians are being corrupted by some unknown force. And whats more? The Holmcross, long unactivated killing machies, are being activated and are wandering the desert junkyards back to civilization.

It appears that the Guardians will soon leave the people of Filgaia, or fight against them. And the threat of the Holmcross is inching ever closer.

Who will protect Filgaia from these threats? Who is the mastermind behind it all, and what are his plans?

What will happen to Filgaia?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok. Essentially, Filgaia is turning to desert at a rapid pace. There is still specks of greenery but they are dying. Remember, desert world :)
Age:
Class: (Pick from Knight or Dream Chaser. Knights will start in Artica OR Adlehyde. Dream Chasers may start wherever in the world they please.)
Town: (see below. Dream Chasers may pick NO town if they wish.)
Weapons: (swords and such. this will later change to guns for a chosen few. yall will see soon enough :) )
Bio:
Towns
Adlehyde
Means "Light" in the Ancient Filgaian language. Adlehyde lies in the east. It is a very strong kingdom and sister kingdom to Artica. It sets beside the Inner Sea and is fairly warm.
It is guarded by the Light Guardian, Stare Roe.
Artica
Sister kingdom to Adlehyde. Artica sets on it own island, across the Inner Sea and to the north of Adlehyde. It is also home to the renowned Fenril Knights. This kingdom is always covered in ice and is guarded by the Ice Guardian, Aru Sulato.
Maria
The city of water. It is south of Adlehyde, on a continent across the Inner Sea. It is a small city and has no real king. It is commonly accepted that Adlehyde rules over it. It is guarded by the Water Guardian, Stoldark.
Court Seim
This is a rough town that is partially deserted. The population still hasnt gone up since the Great war, 50 years ago, when the villiagers were slaughtered by demons. They were once guarded by Nua Shakks, the Thunder Guardian.
Ship Graveyard
This town is very small but it is the only port that will ship anything out to Artica. They have the bravest and most courageous sailors in Filgaia. The town got its name from the number of ships that sink near the harbour. Many small items from these ships often float back to shore near town.
Baskar Villiage
A small Indian-like villiage in the extreme south of Filgaia, in the Outer Ocean. It is very difficult to get to but once you are there you may pay homage to, Zephyr, the Guardian of Hope. It is also rumored that the Guardian of Illusion rests nearby......
Port Timney
This is the largest, most commercial port in Flgaia. It ships out to anywhere in Filgaia, excluding Artica. Most sailors are afraid to sail to artica simply because it lies on an island in the Outer Ocean. Port Timeny sets on the shores of the vast, Inner Sea and is just north of a massive desert.
Junkyard Watch
Tis isn't really a town but rather a small settlement of people gaurding the Desert Junkyard. This settlement lies in the extreme north west and another settlement lies in the extreme south east.
Desert Junkyard
No one lives here. This is the forgotten burial place of the Holmcross, the ancient killing machines of the Demons.
Guardians
Moa Gault: Fire
Stoldark: Water
Nua Shakks: Thunder
Stare Roa: Light
Aru Sulato: Ice
Justine: Courage
Dan Dairam: Chrono
Odoryuk: Life
Zephyr: Hope
Ge Ramtos: Death
Grudjiev: Earth
Concerning the RP
In the RP, we will be fighting the Guardians and the Holmcross. The details about the Holmcross will come out in the RP. No, we will not fight ALL of the Guardians posted above. We WILL have to find the runes of the Guardians. I'm hoping that the dungeons that we will find the runes will be about 3 RPs long. If the dungeons have a Guardian guarding the runes, that will be bumped to around 5. I figure to only fight 5 of the Guardians. Those 5 will be Death, Courage, Hope, Life, Chrono. The runes will be given to characters in the RP that exibet great RP skills. If you are chosen to recieve a rune then you may pick from the list and when the time comes you will RP about recieving it. Some may be chosen as early as....well....now. Some, may be chosen near the end of the RP. Hell, some of the runes wont even be given. The 5 crucial runes, Death, Life, Courage, Hope, Chrono, will definatly be given. Thats about it.
OH! And if your wondering what the differance is, between a Knight and a Dream Chaser, then here it is.
Knights serve kingdoms, of course. The only Kingdoms in Filgaia are Artica and Adlehyde Most knights are excellent fighters.
Dream Chasers are basically townspeople but with special abilities. If you're a dream Chaser then you'd be a Master Swordsman for example. Or a Master Fighter. Something to that effect. Something that would set you apart from normal townspeople.
If you have a question then PM me. Thanks.
Regarding Rank
If I do not know of your RP skills then you will be put on the FP as a Soldier of Artica until you post your bio. If I know of your RP skills already then I'll put you on the FP accordingly. The Fenril Knights will be reserved for the leaders of the clan. Prolly only 3 of those guys.
I'm still around for this, but still have to get a bio done. If your next RP really does get things rolling, then I should have a far better idea of what is going on, and therefore be able to write a bio that conforms to the story.
Heh, so maybe it didn't come as early as I thought :P
I decided to skip the day of rest bullsh!t so when I say "Joseph awoke" that means he woke up on the day of the Exhibition. Ok? Ok.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joseph awoke early in the morning to find that all of his guests were still in the bar, save one. Oiram had left at some point in the night, probably to find another homeless man to steal from.

Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, Joseph woke everyone bu Meathos and ushered them out hastly. It was the day of the Exhibition and, though he hated the idea of the silly show, he anted to see his father and grandfather.

Joe walked out of the tavern, followed by Meathos and took a quick look around. He wondered for a moment why everyone had gathered in the town square and why it was so silent. He was answered when trumpets blasted him out of his sleepy daze. The Artican caravan had arrived.

Joe and Meathos pushed their way through the crowd to the front where a human alley was formed. Five Fenril Knights, in all of their glory and blue tinted battle plate glistened with every step. Light hit the armor and bounced into Joe's eyes, which gave his hangover much irritation. He squinted for a moment and when he fully opened his eyes again he saw his father, David "Edge" Murdoch walking along side the ornate wagon that housed the King and Princess of Artican.

As the wagon came directly in front of his view, Joseph noticed the curtain being drawn back.

Delilah Seph, the Princess of Artica, peered out among the crowd.

Meathos nudged his companion in the side, motioning to the Princess.

"She as beautiful as I remember."

"Aye. That she is."

The remaining three Fenril Knights passed them by behind the wagon, waving to the crowd.

"They must be the new ones. Heh, young firebreathers will get a mouth full for acting so ireverrent." Joe commented to Meathos.

Meathos nodded in agreement, remembering when he and Joseph were younger and in Artica chasing after Princess Delilah. They were scolded on nearly a daily basis go so far as to being locked in a cell for two knights after sneaking in to the Princess' bedchamber.

After several minutes of what Joe would deem "unecessary hooplah", the event was over and the crowd broke.

Joseph decided to walk to the castle with Meathos joining him. He wanted to see his father again. They haven't had the best history but what could he do? He was his son.

Climbing the high steps to Adlehyde Castle, Joseph caught a glimps of the Fenril Knights, all ten of them, standing guard at various point along the perimeter of the castle walls.

Meathos walked up to the nearest Knight, only to have a pike aimed directly at him.

"You'll go no further. Identify yourself." The old knight spoke.

"Meathos Alregdia. This is my companion, Joseph Murdoch. We've---" Meathos was interrupted.

"Murdoch? Young Joseph? My you've grown up. I suppose you're here to see your father?"

"Yes, actually. My grandfather aswell." Joseph answered.

"Ah, so you don't know..... Your grandfather died some three years ago. He was on patrol one knight outside of Princess Delilah's bedchamber and he simply collaped. The doctors indicated that a stroke may have occured."

The news hit Joseph hard. Though he knew his grandfather was getting on in years and that he wouldn't be around forever, but he never actually thought of the hard old man dieing.

"I see." Meathos said, looking at the ground.

"Well, at any rate, your father is currently at the Exhibition. Its started you know. The king is even there. Speaking of which, talking to you has made me late. The others have left without me. I must go." The old knight said, shaking their hands.

He then left, leaving Joseph and Meathos alone at the tightly locked gates.

"Well, I suppose we should head on. No telling what they'll have at the Exhibition. Who knows. We may even see that hardass father of yours crack a smile. It'll be the first time I've ev--" Meathos was interrupted again, this time by a scream.

The two looked back down the steps to the town square below to see a horrible figure leaping across the rooftops to the city gates. The gates were locked now for that added security but the monster seemed to blow through them without hesitation.

The two grown men rushed down the step to see what had happened only to be knocked out of the way by four Fenril Knights rushing after the intruder.

Joseph had his his head on the cold cobblestones below and was dazed. He looked up and witnessed something very rare and something he would not soon forget.

Four Fenril Knights, the most trained elite fighting group in the world, we cut down by a pack of some twenty demons.

"What the f*ck is going on!!?" Meathos said, already to his feet.

Joseph looked back to answer Meathos but found that he was already on his way to his smithy shop.

"Get a weapon!" Meathos called back to Joe.

He nodded and ran onto his tavern, flinging the doors open and searching for his hatchet that he kept behind the bar.

Amidst the screaming he heard a woman yell out something that made his gut quiver.

"Hes been ran through with an arrow! The King is dead! The King Abel is dead!"

Eh, it feels rushed but it really gets things moving and hopefully the next few Rps should go much smoother.

Eysam was asleep soundly in the cot that hung in the bedroom. Zain had taken the bed, for Eysam had to play host. He didn’t mind really, for it meant he was closer to the window and he had become fond of looking at the stars before he slept. Eysam awoke to the sounds of voices, many of them, and other usual sounds that came with large crowds. He blinked his eyes open, his ponytail had fallen around and his long red hair hung over his face. He pushed his bangs away and looked through the dusty glass of the window to the streets below. Everyone, men, women, children all moved at a steady pace towards the north side of the city. Towards the entrance gates…

He pushed open the window and yelled to a woman below. “Pardon me my lady, but where is everyone going?”

“What do you mean ‘where is everyone going?’ Have you been living in a hole in the ground? The King is here!”

“Hm…the king. THE KING!? **** **** **** **** ****….”

Eysam rolled out of the cot and landed on the floor on his feet, though he stumbled because he was still groggy. Zain stirred a little, but did not wake up.

“Zain! Move!” Eysam thwacked him on the head and started getting into his knight’s uniform.

“What? What is it?”

“The king is here!”

“Wait..what!? You said he wouldn’t arrive until mid-afternoon!”

Eysam looked at the clock. It was mid-afternoon.

Zain started getting dressed, while Eysam was already finished and started strapping on his sword. He held his helmet under his right arm.

The two knights ran out of the house, forgetting to lock up, and ran ahead of the crowd towards the entrance gates. Pushing and shoving their way through, they reached the entrance gates in a few minutes and hid in the crowd, waiting for the knights following the royal carriage to pass by.

“One…two…three!” Eysam whispered, and both he and Zain jumped into the group of knights, starting to march with them. A few more steps, and no one would know they were missing.

One knight nudged Eysam in the arm. “You sneaky bastard…” Eysam grinned under his helmet.

“Don’t smile man! They know you left!”

“Eh, what’s the worst they can do to me?”

Zain groaned. Eysam may not have anything to worry about, but he did. Eysam was considered somewhat valuable as a knight, because of his knowledge of medicine. Zain had nothing to boast of, nothing to fall back on.
The crowd cheered, and Eysam saw that the princess had looked out at the townspeople.

“Be still my heart.” Eysam thought, knowing that every other man in the crowd was thinking the same thing. Suddenly, a daisy landed by Eysam's eyes. He brushed it off and noticed oung women throwing flowers to the knights. Eysam caught one in his hand and kissed it. The lady who threw it swooned. This job had its perks.

Zain rolled his eyes and leaned it over Eysam’s shoulder. “If they only knew what you were really like.” Eysam knew that was true. The ladies around here would swoon over any young man, so long as he was a knight. Although Eysam never had much of an ego, he liked to pretend he did and tucked the flower into his belt.

The knights continued to follow the carriage until they had reached the ends of the crowd that surrounded it, and it turned down a side street. The crowd dispersed, and now that the show was over the knights relaxed their tense, marching muscles. They still continued to walk, but now some of them removed their helmets. Eysam was happy to, although as soon as he did, the other knights glared at him.

“Sam! Where the hell have you been?”

“Went to my house, that’s all.”

“You left without permission! Do you have any idea what kind of trouble you are in? And what an ear-beating we got because we let you leave?”

Another knight turned to Zain. “He dragged you along with him, didn’t he?”

For some reason, after the accident, all the other men viewed Zain as a bit of a pushover. "He didn't drag me along!" was all Zain could think of as a retort.

“Relax. Nothing bad is going to happen.”

As if on cue, a dark figure jumped down from the rooftops and down next to the carriage. Eysam jumped out of the way as it landed on top of another knight. It moved away, leaving the knight on the ground, his throat cut open.

“Vic!” someone yelled. The knight was dead but they couldn’t do anything for him now. The figure was heading for the royal carriage. Eysam and the other knights drew their swords and ran for it. Eysam was the first knight to swing at it first as it dropped the dead body of the carriage driver to the ground. Eysam sword hit what he guessed was its arm. He couldn’t tell if he did any damage because before he knew it, he was being thrown against a wall. He shook his head and looked down at his side. A deep cut ran up his left side. He bled profusely and slid up against the wall, struggling to stand. There was the sound of a woman screaming. The princess…

Eysam looked up to see the figure struggle to shake off the other knights. Supposing it could not win the battle on the ground, it jumped to the rooftops once more. There was nothing he could do but watch it aim. Eysam turned and spotted the open carriage, the king himself in full view. “Protect the king and princess!” But no one moved except Zain. Zain ran at the carriage again, just as the arrows flew. Five arrows hit Zain’s back, one hitting the king directly on target. There was another scream from the princess as the king collapsed. Zain collapsed onto the ground as well. The figure disappeared, Eysam’s shouts echoing behind it.

Eysam crawled over to the carriage. He first looked inside, crawling pass the bleeding bodies of his comrades. The princess huddled in the corner of the carriage, clutching the king’s body.

“Princess?” Eysam said meakly.

“Ah!” She cried with a start. She saw he was a knight and her panic subsided.

“My father..he’s…he’s…” There was blood all over her dress and hands as he lay across her lap.

“I know. Just hang on for a moment. Be brave your highness.” She gave a slight nod and continued to look down upon the fallen king.

Eysam spotted Zain, who had pulled himself up against the side of the carriage, but now lay still and unconcious. Blood covered his back. Eysam sat in front of him, and slapped him awake. Zain blinked a few times, but could not focus.

“Zain! Zain, c’mon man, wake up.”

“Sam…Sam...is the king…the princess…”

“His highness is…well, we did all we could…that guy, or whatever it was, was just too…”

Zain fell forward, resting his head on Eysam’s shoulder. "I wasn't fast enough..."

"Don't you even think about beating yourself up over this. Whatever it was, it was too powerful for any of us." Blood dripped over Eysam's hand as he held onto his friend. Zain's eyes closed again. What do you want me to do?

Zain's voice returned. "I don't want to die."

Eysam was glad. “What changed your mind?”

Zain smiled, looking quite insane but Eysam knew better. “hn, you’re bleeding Sam," he said, not caring how obvious it was.

“Ya, I know.” Eysam reached back and started pulling arrows out of Zain’s back. Zain bit into Eysam’s shoulder to keep from biting his own tongue.

“Who’s out there? Hello?” The princess leaned out of the carriage, her eyes wide with fear. “Oh my!” She covered her mouth with her hand and turned away from the sight of a bloody arrow emerging from the Zain's back, pulling bits of muscle and metal with it.

“Stay in there your highness. Help will arrive soon.”

She paused to collect herself. “Will…will he be alright?” Her voice muffled by her hand.

“Zain? He’ll be fine.”

After all the arrows were removed, Eysam gently laid his friend on the ground on his stomach. He pulled a small bottle from the pouch on his belt.

“Wait, the king…”

“I told you, he's already dead. Now hold still.”

“The princess!?” Zain cried with a sudden burst of energy.

“The princess is fine! Now please lie still!”

Zain sighed with relief. Eysam always managed not to panic in these situations. Such a happy fellow, it seemed odd that he could remain so calm and collected after such an attack. But that was Eysam. Once it became business, it was all business.

Eysam poured a few droplets of the bright purple liquid on each of Zain’s open wounds. It burned, but wasn’t as painful as removing the arrows. The liquid seemed to eat up the blood, as it grew almost like foam over the wounds.

“Now, lay there for a few minutes and don’t move.” Zain smiled. It would be the second time Eysam would save his life using that miracle liquid. Eysam poured a few droplets on himself, and kept his body as stiff as possible as he walked to two other knights, the only other two that still clung to life, and healed only the most mortal wounds.

He walked back over to Zain and sat beside him. The foam had absorbed into his skin, leaving only pink scars in its place. Zain stood up slowly. “Thanks again. How are you feeling?" Eysam eyed his own wounds. Because he had not laid still, his scars were still a deep red. He would have to take it easy if he didn’t want them to crack open.

“Alright for now.” The two other surviving knights started to get up. Just then, other soldiers and guards poured into the street.

One man stood in front and looked down at Eysam and Zain. “What happened?!” But before either of them could answer, he looked into the carriage.

“The King is dead!”

X
August 31st, 2007, 01:53 PM
Let's go... Just to remind you that I'm around...

On the day of the Festival, X woke up and joined the rest in the parade. The sights and sounds of the day simply astonished the simple warrior from Bhaskar, as they were the opposite of the daily events in his tiny village. Music poured out, hundreds of people crowded the streets, and simply put, it was amazing. His sword remained unsheathed by his side, and it rested comfortably, for there was no need to use it.

By this point, none of the men who he had seen last night had joined him, but the young villager ceased to worry about them. In front of his eyes marched the countless Artican Fenril Knights, who walked row-by-row in the hundreds. In the midst of them sat a beautiful woman dressed quite ornately, who X guessed was the Princess, while next to her sat the man who obviously was her father, but more than that, the King of Artica himself.

Being the lowly peasant boy and not even seeing gold until this excursion, the young man was awestruck. It was to his surprise that five minutes later, he was snapped awake by some young children, who ran away in haste, as he had been gawking (at this point into the empty street, for everyone had left), completely dazed and unfocused. Rubbing his eyes, he turned and noticed everyone had moved on to the tents, enjoying themselves. X also went on.

All was happy, and the sun shined immaculately. A merry day, the opening of the Festival, and the youngster made the most of it. He ate food aplenty, played games and participated in contests of strength, most of the time winning. Tomorrow he could begin selling his wares, but the apprentice did not desire thinking about his work again until nighttime.

However, everything changed suddenly. People began screaming in all directions, and pandemonium reigned. Loud shrieks erupted from all sides. X stood in the middle of the commotion, trying to find out what happened. Pulling an old man who’s eyes were agape, and looked absolutely haggard, he questioned, “Excuse me, sir, what has happened?”

“Are you mad,” the old man replied, beginning to run again, “The King is dead, the King is dead!” The voice trailed off as the man continued to sprint (as fast as he could), away from the villager. Meanwhile, he tried to absorb what was happening. The King, a man richer than any X had ever laid his eyes on? Dead? Minutes after seeing him? Impossible.

The crowd was generally now moving in one steady direction. The Bhaskar native began driving through against the flow of people, weaving through human traffic. It was slow going at first, but eventually, X found himself in front of the same carriage which the King and the Princess had been in previously. As he peered inside, he was shocked to see that the old man had been correct, and that the King of Artica had not only died, but he had been killed, and did not die of natural causes. He heard talking from behind the carriage, and so X quickly unsheathed his sword, Jai. Walking around, he saw two men, one laying on the ground, the other above him, trying to heal him. Meanwhile, the Princess, her eyes boring into the ground, seemed morose.

X, his tribal traits coming on, felt the need to help these people, and so he called out, “What should I do?”

Yeah, this is the best I can do, considering I don’t totally understand what’s going to happen next, or where people are, and etc. And I didn’t even have my own bio for reference…

September 6th, 2007, 08:47 PM
Eh, the most this is takin' from the game is the location. You wouldn't really need to be familiar with the source material in this case.

All in all, the main direction is Artica. Everything will come to a head in Artica. We're just gonna get there in a round about way. If you want to RP, move us along to another city. We'll f*ck around there and then move to the next until we reach our destination.

Thats my general plan. It doesn't sound too impressive when put like that but if this works out as I hope, it'll be pretty f*ckin' glorious.

Being that the rp hasn't progressed much, I'm going to take this opportunity to post a bio for my character Zain. Yes, I will be rping as two characters. I just had him there as Eysam's friend, but I didn't have the heart to kill him off. So he's staying.

Character’s Name: Zain Volantyne

Age: 25

Class: Knight

Town: Port Timney

Appearance: Zain has semi-long black hair (here's a good reference (http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i215/snowdrift_2/Male%20Anime/gs_04.gif)) He has a scar going across his throat and let's just say Eysam saved his life using his healing potion. He has black eyes and is a little shorter than Eysam, but only by an inch or two.

Clothing/armor: Wears the same thing as Eysam, except his tunic is a dark green and the tunic has long sleeves. He doesn't have a poncho.

Weapons: Also has a sword at his hip (being a knight and all) but it's a pretty average looking sword. The hilt is silver with a bluish tone to it, but nothing as special as Eysam's.

Backstory: In Port Timney, one either became a sailor, merchant, priest or when off to train to be one of the famed knights of Artica. Zain chose the last, but not because he wanted to. He had a rough home life as a child. His father was a gambler and barely made enough as it was working the docks. Zain's mother had died given birth to Zain's baby sister, who also died a few months after being the mother wasn't there to properly take care of her. Zain's father would be gone all day, sometimes all night, so Zain was left alone to do schoolwork and chores. Zain read a lot, so he became well educated. His father wasn't pleased however when Zain said he'd like to become a teacher, a not well paid job. Zain's father kicked him out, telling him not to come back until he was a knight. Zain joined the military, but didn't do well at all. The commanders gave him a rough time, trying to toughen him up but it only made him weaker. He tried to commit suicide one night when alone in his tent, when Eysam saw his silhouette through the cloth and ran in to stop him. His throat was already cut, but Eysam used his healing potion to save him. After that, Eysam helped him with his training and told him that he didn't have to return home, but could come live with him in Artica. Zain rose to become a fine knight, earning the respect of his comrades and commanders.

Here's the colored commission I had done of Eysam and Zain http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n80/meibiseiya/?action=view&current=Commission___Eysam_and_Zain_by_Nine.jpg

The door of his smithy exploded open, and he rushed to his armour and sword. It's blue hue struck him and made his stomach spasm- He'd forgotten just how much he loved it. He dove upon it and began to strap the pieces on.

"Take your time, Meathos, please. I would hate to hurry you at a time such as this." Joe's voice was sickening how sarcastic it had become. Meathos stopped, and he shifted on his toes, as he was crouched to fasten a strap on one of his boots.

"Take your pick, mien fuhrer." And he continued to fasten his armour. "Besides, they're already here. They won't leave any time soon."

"And people will die if we don't hurry!"

"They'll die if we do, Joe. If we don't plan this out at least half-assed, we'll die, and then I won't get the Princess." He smiled and stood, and signalled for Joe to help him with the straps connecting his back and breast plates.

Joe was in no mood for the horsesh!t Meathos was pulling. "Let's move. Now."

Meathos looked his friend int he eye, and saw concern, fear, and above all else-Anger. Meathos felt his brow lower as his knees began to shake. The situation had just hit him, he was no longer living on old training and reaction... He was now living on adrenaline and thought. He nodded, and dropped his chestplates, and arm protection. He had only leg armour, and a thin, torn beige shirt that would have been under his chest armour was all that remained. His chainmail lay at his feet. His hand creaked across the hilt of his sword.

And they ran.

Meathos would head back to where he had retreated from, and he would start wrestling the demons.

I just spent 20 minutes looking for a Bio that I wrote for this place a while ago. It was either this one or a different one that Meathos made. Anyway. It's late here, so I'm going to bed, but I'd like very much to join. I'll try my best to get a Bio up soon. Looks like fun.

lol, I made Tower Six... About three or four times. Too complicated for people to write in.

Anyways, nice to see you back, Snoog.

I'm gonna try and write somethin' in here. I've been real busy lately, so yeah.

Yeah, that's a good point. Hahaha.

Everything's moving slow these days, so we've got nothing to really worry about other than a loss of interest...

So ya, where do we go from here? Apparently things stopped and the ship went down with the captain.
I think people are interested, but school is keeping people busy. Although, I'm in college, and I'm not THIS busy. Maybe it's just me.

Joseph Murdoch ran behind Meathos out of the Smithy. They were moving at a blinding pace and Joe hadn't ran in quite some time.

But, the running was soon over, as they had come to the battle. Men were flying everywhere. Bodies of the Fenril Knights and nornmal townspeople alike were strewn in the streets. Only a lowly force of thirty demons had done this.

Joseph clenched his hatchet.

"Stay close!" Meathos roared above the din.

"Of course." Joseph grunted, heaving one small demon over his shoulder.

The two carved a path through to the very heart of the skirmish. Body parts were flying. Human body parts. Soon, the pair's clothes were near drenched in demon and human blood.

"ZAIN!!!!" Roared an unfamiliar voice.

Joseph glanced to his left but his gaze was interrupted as a rather wide demon decided it was time to end Joe's session. He was dismissed along with others and, for a moment, there was a pause in the noise.

Two men, weapons drawn, were entering the playing field. One happened to come towards Joseph, killing a demon before Joe's head could be lopped off.

"Who the hell are you!?" Joe yelled.

"A friend, it seems." The knight answered.

Before the convorsation could be carried on, though, a monsterous voice rang out.

"MAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" The growling voiced laughed.

Joseph and Meathos' eyes both widened and shot up. It was a laugh they hadn't heard in years.

The Bloody General whom was presumed dead. General Bren.

The battle suddenly ceased at his next words.

"ENOUGH!!!!! Our objective is complete. The Fenril Knights have been weakened. It is time to take ur le--!!!!" General Bren was interrupted by what he had seen.

Two men, bearing a striking resemblence to the two who had supposedly toppled him.

The Bloody General only smiled and with a swish of his cloak, he was gone. The rest of the demons scurried away and those with teleporting powers vanished.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Battle of Adlehyde was over.
Men cried.
Grown men. Hard men. Trained Knights.
"Meathos! Did you hear his words? 'We've weakened the Fenril Knights'!!!" Joseph shook his friend.
Meathos' eyes widened.
"They're heading for Artica. We have to find a port. WE HAVE TO HEAD THEM OFF!!!!" Meathos yelled, his voice crackling.
"Maria is closest. We have to hurry. NOW. Suit up. Its only thirty miles away. We can make it in around two days of hard running." Joseph responded.
The man whom had saved Joseph looked at his companion.
"They have the right idea. Lets travel with them. We have a duty to protect this land." He said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Two hours had passed and people were still rushing around in the streets. The hammering on caskets could be heard in the distance. Joseph had just finished putting on his light armor and dusting off his old shield. Meathos burst into the room as Joe finished buckling his shin plates.

"Time to go."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alright. Promise it will be smoother once we get on our way to Maria. Maybe one post to get us there. One and a half if Heather decides to approach us before we leave. Either way is fine.
Eysam and Zain overheard Joseph as he shook the man Eysam recognized as the smithy. Zain turned to Eysam. “What do you think?”
Eysam's eyes narrowed. “They are obviously more familiar with these demons than we are. I think they have the right idea. Let’s travel with them. We have a duty to protect this land."
Zain nodded in agreement, as if he had a choice, and turned to the other knights, who moaned and groaned and questioned the purple goo that covered their wounds. They weren't needed here anymore.
The smithy and the man named Joseph began to take off when Zain ran in front of them. Right now, neither of them cared what this journey would mean. Neither of them cared who these men were. All they knew was that this was their only chance to make amends for what had happened.
"What do you want?" Meathos demanded.
“I’ll make it short. My name is Zain and this is my friend Eysam." Eysam walked passed them stood beside Zain. "We’re knights and we wish to help you in defeating whatever killed the king.”
Joseph and Meathos looked at each other and then Joe spoke up. “We could use a couple of knights. Are you sure you’re up to it?”
“Yes.”
“I meant your friend there.” He pointed to Eysam whose wounds were still dangerously sensitive.
Eysam stood up straighter and grinned. “I’ll be fine. I won’t slow you down if that’s what you are afraid of.”
He's not stupid. He's a knight. And a brave one. Joseph recognized him as the man who saved his life. “Very well then. Meet us in the square. We’re heading to Maria.” Joseph and Meathos ran passed them and disappeared down a street.
Zain and Eysam turned and ran to the carriage, where the princess was just getting out, her dress dripped with blood, her father still laying inside.
She stiffened as two men stopped and knelt at her feet. Eysam spoke first. “We are sorry we were unable to protect your father your highness.”
It was Zain’s turn. “However, we are going after those monsters and we will not return until his death, and the deaths of these brave knights and innocent people has been avenged.”
The princess laid her shaking hands on their heads and they looked up at her. She was trying to remain calm and dignified. “My brave knights. You did well. There was no way you could have saved His Majesty. But you saved my life, and I am eternally grateful for that. Please, journey safely and look out for each other.”
Eysam and Zain struggled not to grin at each other but then stood up and bowed. "My comrades will look after you your highness. They will make sure you return home safely." After a few steps back in that fashion, they turned and ran down the street.
Eysam and Zain ran back to Eysam’s house to prepare themselves for the trip. They pushed through panicking crowds of people and stepped over bodies that had yet to be picked up. Eysam, unaware of the fact, stepped over the body only man to cheer on the smithy during the toast. His lie face down, and a good thing too for his chest had been ripped open and survivors got to see the better side.
They reached the house and burst through the front door and immediately started grabbing anything useful. Eysam packed up his pouch with a few medicines and bottles of potions while Zain packed anything edible. Of course, all he found was another bottle of the terrible wine and a loaf of bread. Eysam put his helmet in his bag for now and quickly wiped off what looked like black blood off of his sword. He tossed the rag to Zain who did the same.
“What exactly were those things?”
“Hell if I know. But those men want to defeat them and so do I, so that’s all I’m going to worry about right now.”
After they had finished packing, they headed for the door. Zain stood outside and watched Eysam stand in the doorway and take one last look at his parents’ house. Both of them looked battered and tired, and their clothes were covered in blood stains.
“You alright?”
“Ya." He replied with a sigh. "It's just my first day in a long time staying here and I’m already leaving.”
“You’ll be back. You have to come back. I need a place to live too you know.”
Eysam remembered his promise and locked the door. They ran to the middle of the square where Meathos and Joseph waited for them.
Hm, so he’s the doctor’s son. That’s interesting.
"Ready to go."
Alright, I’m set. I think I’ve encountered with Joe and the gang here.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````
The blood trickled down the road, a rivulet following down the path narrowly to the horizon.

All X could do was gaze around, and turn the next instant and add his own vomit to the gore on the ground.

Somehow, his blade had gotten bloodied, in the course of the chaos of that day, but the young villager could not recall how, nor why. He remembered seeing a princess, probably the Artican one herself, with the corpse of her father, and another man who lay wounded. He’d tried to help them.

Then perhaps at this time the stone had hit him. The native of Bhaskar Village turned and saw some of the enemy charge at him, at least in the daydreaming and reminiscing of what seemed like a century ago. It had been his first combat experience, and already the youngster’s jitteriness continued, and he shivered at the thought of himself committing murder. What would the other villagers think…

But then he pondered some more. What if these men—but men they weren’t—whatever they were, if they had attacked his village? Should he let some of his family die outright, or kill to protect them.

The matter was simple. These Adelhydean’s were under attack. They required help. Thousands of people screamed for it during the peak of pandemonium. X had tried to provide some aid, however he could give it. The sword’s platinum gleam diminished thanks to the crimson tinge, which oozed off of the blade.

The youngster wandered around, still confused and shaken. Finally, he stopped. In front stood a crowd of people; one of whom he recognized as the man who’d roused him today, the most inauspicious of days…

“Hello again sir,” X opened, politely again, but the man turned in disgust at the crude dialect of the villager, and stared openly at the Bhaskar native.

“Do I know you?”

“Why yes indeed, I stayed near your place last night, and it was you who woke me up for such foul tidings.”

“Oh, well there were so many people there last night, I can’t be bothered remembering them all,” already the man turned towards his companion(s). “Listen, we’re a little busy here, trying to help and…”

“But that’s what I want to do. Perhaps I can be of some service?”

The man snapped his neck back in X’s direction as he gawked at him. “Are you serious? No way am I gonna get hindered by—well, how’d all that blood get there? Did you really fight?”

“Oh yes, most definitely. I could not just sit back and watch too many people innocently killed, without knowing inside that it wasn’t my fault.” He turned to the blade, smiling absent-mindedly and ruefully. “Besides, this weapon seems to guide me to my destiny, and it seems to point in your direction. Perhaps I must accompany you.”
