Background: She grew up in a military family, never receiving the discipline most militaristic families receive. Her father was often at the barracks while her mother stayed at home in order to keep the house in order. Karyna was the oldest of five, having two younger sisters and two younger brothers. She practiced with her bow for years after getting it as a present for her 10th birthday. As she got older, she began teaching her younger siblings how to use it. Karyna was a part of a military experiment to create the perfect weapon when she was born. She was infused with blood of a race of time-controlling elves, supposedly giving her their powers. The military deemed it a failure, seeing no changes or revealing of powers. They were wrong. When Karyna turned 16, her powers came about, changing her life entirely. Her energy surged, stopping the entire village in its tracks. It only returned to normal when she blacked out due to fatigue. Most of her friends left, all except two: her best friends, another half-elf in a "failed" experiment and a human. Her family also stuck by her -- her younger brothers because it was "cool"; her sisters and mother because they were inseparable, until one day, when someone attacked their village. Every house was burned, every building destroyed. Her and her family and half-elf friend Rayner escaped. Her father was killed in the attack, defending the village alongside several others. Karyna and the other six rushed to the nearby forest and lived there until the enemy left. When it was safe, they left to the east to live with their family. Karyna swore revenge on those that burned her village to the ground once she was ready.
