Well, that'd be great, though I would appreciate/want/need input from you, of course. I know I basically said a lot of what's going in before people knew to do it, but you still said and came up with things I hadn't even thought of, so I'm thinking a joint venture is in order.
``````````
"I trust you, don't worry."
...Celia, Tatrianna's slight voice rang through, just be careful. I trust you. I'll teleport you to the location.
Good luck, kid, Benn added.
In an instant, Celia and Venn found themselves in the middle of the ocean. The metal staves, however useful they were, were making the duo sink.
Absolutely. An IM shared by us both would be excellent.
~~~~~~~~~~

Using the force of Glint and Deep Freeze, Celia managed to create a bubble of ice that would keep them safe. She also constructed a small portal with her house to allow the transfer of fresh air.

RIGHT in the middle of the sea? Directions, please?

"That should keep us safe for now."

Just float down, you're right on top of them.

"Hopefully. Now, mind filling me in while we're alone?"

Why?

"If I told you, you'd think I'm crazy. If you know what they'll be used for, you'll end up ruining the plan. Just pretend they don't exist for now."

Because Yahoo doesn't work, and MSN is weak sh*t.

"It's sad that you don't trust me, but alright."

They sank deeper until the orb hit ground. Using their feet to roll it, Celia and Venn started towards a large purple glow they only could guess was where Anai had gone.

Aura
August 7th, 2008, 04:30 PM
"If you promise to do exactly as I say, I'll tell you. But you'll need to do exactly what I say."

Such bossiness was uncommon for Celia. She started rolling even faster, although with all of the water pressure, she kept having to reinforce the ice ball.

"Alright, go ahead, I'm listening."

Venn started pushing his legs even harder to combat the tremendous pressure that seemed to accumulate into an even denser mass as they neared the glowing.

"The staffs are long, so they'll be able to fill the cavern at the narrow points. If things turn bad, I'll start placing the metal staffs in the narrow sections so they'll make a bit of a roadblock. After that, I'll establish a small, undetectable magic field which will absorb the attacks. Lastly, I'll make mana links to those, so that we'll be able to draw on their attacks."

"We'll need to prepare more than anything. This fight's definitely going to get dicey."

Aura
August 8th, 2008, 11:26 AM
"No. I have an idea. If I can get the water from outside the cave to get in there, I can unleash my Arcane Art on the water. If I do it the right way, they will have no way to survive. That's my backup plan. What are your plans?"

"Okay. Let's do our best. This is our one chance to do this."

With a nod, Venn started pumping his legs harder and faster, going towards the small cave that seemed to go inwards towards the giant light.

"Now, start laying those as I push it forward. The pressure down here doesn't exactly warrant staying in one place for any longer than is humanly possible to roll past it."

Aura
August 10th, 2008, 10:59 AM
"You mean the staffs? I'm only going to put them in the cavern, not into the sea. And I can't get them out without breaking this ball, which would kill us immediately."

"Well, somehow get them out into the water, because we're entering the caverns right now," Jarek said, pointing ahead towards a large cave system.

Aura
August 10th, 2008, 02:09 PM
"One second..."

Celia created a smaller bubble outside, teleported into it, placed a few staffs in there, and then teleported back before the pressure crushed the ball.

"You know, I planned to use these inside the actual cave, not just let them float away."

"They'll stick, don't worry."

Venn was right, actually. The staves seemed to stick into the small cave fairly easily. Soon, the ones he brought were done, and they had at least clogged up five different caves.

"I see air ahead, I think we're here," he said in a deathly whisper.

Aura
August 17th, 2008, 01:01 PM
Oh, sorry. I was under the impression that they were still in the ocean, not in the cave. Also, multiple caves?

~~~~~~~~~~
Ben, we're here. Wish me well...
Great goddess of the frost, hear my call. Please, bestow upon my your cold mind, your icy resolution, your biting force, and your calm heart.
The cave is under the water, it goes up into an air pocket. And yes, it's a cave system, not a singular cave.
``````

I wish you only the best that Gods can offer, Celia. If anything, even if you don't defeat Anai, please, be careful.

Celia instantly felt a surge of power as her normal clothes were covered by an intricate set of armor, made entirely of pure ice. The gods had chosen to favor her. Soon, they reached the air pocket, with only a few staves left. Venn motioned to her to keep them still, for they might be useful. Just a few feet ahead, Celia could see a ring of six great robed figures, easily three times the size of normal humans, with Anai sitting in the middle. All of them looked up from their stony circle, the mages moving away from Anai with deathly silence. They didn't seem combat ready, though. On the contrary, they seemed to be moving to the sidelines to stay completely out of anything that was about to happen. And Anai seemed just as confused by this as Venn and Celia did.

"What? Why have you forsaken me? She is my enemy, and as your friend, that makes her YOUR enemy as well!"

A booming voice filled the hall, made up of six echoing sounds.

No, child. She is your foe alone, and this is alone your fight. You shall not receive any help from us, for her vengeance is a product of your own design.

Aura
August 18th, 2008, 12:52 AM
Celia looked up at the figures. "Before we begin, Anai, there is something I must say to the Mages here. I respect your decision of neutrality. I don't care who you are, or what you've done. As long as you do not hurt me, I won't hurt you."

Her attention turned to Anai. "I am here. You have no chance to survive make your time. nowhere to run."

OOC: ...

With a laugh, Anai stepped forward.

"Even without their help, this fight is mine. You're just as weak as you used to be, Celia, and I have done nothing but become stronger since we last met. Come, I'll even let you have the first blow."

Aura
August 18th, 2008, 08:27 PM
I had to do it. I absolutely had to do it.

~~~~~~~~~~
"Since we last met? Yeah, I don't think either of us became any stronger. It's been...what, a day or two?" Celia smirked.
"I refuse to make the first move. I'll grand you the coward's honor."
Goddess of frost, as much as I appreciate your gift of this armor, I must request that you remove it. I would prefer to fight only in my clothes.
As you wish, Gods' Favored.
The armor melted away, leaving a pool of water at Celia's feet.
"Fine, let's dance!" laughed Anai, firing a lightning-fast beam of light energy at Celia, the latter only deflecting it with a quick and automatic water shield formed from the puddle.
Your reflexes are better, odd, said Venn, who had taken to the sidelines by the mages.
Aura
August 30th, 2008, 01:39 PM
What?
Celia knew exactly what she would do, but she would need permission to do so. She turned her head to the top of the cavern and asked "Ryan, may I please write a semi-long fighting post, as opposed to the three-liner posts?"
A voice boomed from the heavens.
"Uh, no problem. In fact, I prefer them. The only reason I make them so short is to leave more to the other side than to the controlling writer, if that makes sense."
Aura
August 30th, 2008, 04:21 PM
Celia nodded. An entirely new person had overtaken the calm, caring, merciful Celia.
"Dance? Dance we shall!"
As Anai fired another beam, Celia darted to the side, beginning a straight dash for Anai while constantly weaving through the beams. As she came up to Anai, she leaped over Anai, threw her dagger into Anai's back. On the descent, she gripped the dagger again, tearing a huge gash in Anai's back. Before the evil spirit could turn around, creating a point-blank Glint that knocked the two of them back about thirty feet. While this hurt Celia, it was also exactly what she planned. Due to Anai being momentarily stunned, Celia cast Deep Freeze on the entrance to the chamber, preventing any oxygen from the sea from entering the chamber.
"One person will die, or all will die. When one wins, they will melt the seal, restoring the flow of air. If they try to do so mid-battle, the other will seize the opportunity to win. Think about what you do, Anai."
Sensing self-preservation was smarter than pride, Anai conceded.
"Ugh, fine you brat, you win. What happens now?"
Aura
"I was to kill you, but that would be far too kind. You are to come with me, quietly, to undergo a trial for your crimes. Come with me."
With incredible sarcasm, Celia called out to Venn.
Hard battle my ass, Ben. Hard battle my ass.
Aura
August 31st, 2008, 06:33 PM
No, actually, to Venn. But, now that it's Ben...
"We will deliver her," said the mages in unison. "She has served her punishment for using our powers and influence for evil, and now she will serve it further."
The Mages chanted wildly, and in a whirlwind of darkness, transported the group to the Order's island. Ben was out front to greet them.
"I was just about to go, seems like I'm not needed anymore," he said in a shocked whisper, gesturing towards the Mages.
"I'm sure Tatrianna will have her thanks ready for you. Best not to mention the Mages, though, that's still an extremely touchy subject for her."
Aura
"Because we are not inherently evil, like many think," said the Mages, who were still on the island. "She only used our powers for evil, she let the darkness encompass her soul, and not enlighten her mind. She was weak, to the worst possible degree."
Aura
"I was told that you led her, you deceived her to follow dark rituals. Please, tell me the truth. What really happened?"
Against the sky, the Mages looked even larger.
"What really happened is she was affected by the arcana far more strongly than she let on. Darkness is magic, just like anything else, but only with Darkness is there a risk for corruption. Instead of seeking help for her affliction of weakness, she masked it from us, and let the corruption take hold of her soul. We trusted her to a degree, for we had known her ever since she was a scared little girl. Our folly was the largest sin of anyone, for had it not been for our foolishness, your father would still be alive."
Ben seemed quite disturbed by whatever had just occurred.
OOC: I WONDER WHAT?! Also, Digital Devil Saga is damn hard. I just started up again, and forgot how unforgiving it is.
Aura
September 4th, 2008, 10:15 PM
It seems interesting. Although I've only seen the same three people in monster form during battles, so I can't really make any decisions. Also, how are there two Bens?
Uh, there have always been two. Remember? Stupid time stuff? Also, Remy's dead, I mysteriously killed him off, time paradox, rahrah.
"Yes, I'm bringing Tat along with us...actually, Celia, if you want, stay here with Anai. We need someone that knows her power to guard her, so you don't underestimate her."
Aura
September 21st, 2008, 12:07 PM
Why would you kill Remy?
Meh, he was never crucial to the storyline. At least keep Linara. I have plans for her.
Also, in Digital Devil Saga, is there any reason to NOT be in monster form? From what I've seen, in human form, you have one attack. In monster form, you have a lot more options.
Lastly, what do these two Ben's know?
~~~~~~~~~~

"If you need me to, I'll do it. Be careful, I don't want you to get hurt."

I'm trying to stay more focused with Celia's personality versus random stuff.

I'd kill Remy because a) He caused a time paradox, and b) Joe accidentally did something that messed with Remy being existent in this current time, SO...I said eh, screw it, he wasn't crucial anyway.

And no, there really isn't. I mean, there are some cool combos you can do, but you're physical defense plummets and a bunch of really nasty stuff.

However, if one of your teammates has a magical weakness, human form is kinda useful, gets rid of your opponents press turn advantage for a weakness hit. You don't take magical weaknesses as a human.
```````````
With a grateful smile, Ben ran back into the base, to get a teleport from Tatrianna.
I'm waiting for you, little one. I heard what he wants you to do, stay on the sidelines with me. What a shame.
Aura
Don't pull the "He's not inviting you because he doesn't like you, why do you think he treats you like this, blah blah blah whine" cliché. It's not a shame for me.
With that, Celia entered the headquarters and walked around the halls, looking for whatever.
She quickly found whatever, seeing a slightly aged man slump down into a chair, muttering a few magic words before calming. He seemed sickly.
"Ah, child, come in. I've wanted to introduce myself for a while, however, it's been a bit hard," he called, grinning widely. "My name is Gavin, and I'm the leader of this fine Order, or at least until I can find the heir. He's been right tricky to locate, though, so for right now just call me Gavin."
Aura
Gavin laughed, and waved his hand to get Celia to rise.
"I don't see why everyone bows to me, I'm a blacksmith-I'm middle class, not divine royalty. And the heir is a young man now...but, what his name is and where his current location is seems to ellude us, so I'm afraid. You see, his mother gave birth to him outside of the base, just before the invasion of forces that created this," he gestured around sorrowfully with his hand, "...mess. But, we're very much closer to finding him, because I'm certain we've divined his location. He seems to be in Olec right now, preparing for the tournament there. But, enough about the heir, tell me about yourself. I've heard such grandiose things from Ben, I was expecting you to be some type of deity," chuckled the large man.
Aura
October 30th, 2008, 08:50 PM
You're not talking about Jarek. No way. Celia and Soleo are (mostly) your stories. Jarek and Carnane are (mostly) my stories.
~~~~~~~~~~

"I'm no deity. I was a simple daughter of travelers before I was thrust into all of this. Now I'm some grand person. Now, you, sir, you are a grand person. You lead a very pious and forthright group. You deserve respect."

Addicted to Oi!
October 31st, 2008, 03:03 PM
OOC: I'm leaving it up to interpretation. The Order's story does place the heir at someone from Sol'jin around his same age, Jarek's father-figure is a smith, he's always had an affinity for holy magic, it fits.

"Hm, I'd like to think that this is a 'pious and forthright' group, but I'm afraid, with the Mages knowing where we are and with our membership pool slowly dwindling, we won't have the resources to truly go on. No, we need a leader that not only leads, but inspires hope, and I'm afraid I'm just not that person. We need Dukas back, if only for a little while."
