View Full Version : Seeva's Technique Class

With a final sketch on the chalkboard, Seeva was ready to teach the students. Not about magic, or proper sword use, but proper weapon technique. The students needed to know now how to swing a sword, but when and why to swing the sword. It wasn't an official class, as it was a boring summer day. The classroom was empty, and she waited for students to enter.

Kaitlyn entered hesitantly, from what she was told, Seeva was unforgiving, and had and attitude.
"Um... I'm here, but I don't have a weapon anymore..."

"Don't worry, I managed to get a few from the armory."
Seeva smiled.

Kaitlyn smiled back and took a seat
"I'm glad someone's holding a class. I don't know how to use any waepons besides my cards, and I'm looking for a new weapon. Thanks"

Matt walked in first and sat down.
Matt: Awseome! I always wanted to learn to weild a sword and learn when and how to use it... That ways i will be more effective in battle!
Matt sat exicitedly awaiting for the class. Right then Alex walked in and sat down.
Alex: Ahh, Hi Pandora.. Hi Matt..... Woot, a sword class eh? I have a small dagger but it would be nice if i could how to use a big one.. Would be more effective combined with my ability.. So when does class start?

The door swong open and Chaos was thrown into the class room Chaos was now mad. When he saw who was going to be teaching the class then his eye widen as he saw Seeva.
"Dammit of all people it had to be the freakin girl that I beat teaching a class, what has the world gone to?!" Chaos said.

A blob of blue bounced into the classroom, ricocheting off one of the walls and the blackboard by Seeva's head, then bounced to the others and morphed into Doppel.
"I'm here!" He said.
"...are you kidding? You don't even have a weapon." Seeva said.
Doppel smiled.
"I can have any weapon I please!" he said, smiling.
A piece of blue goop extended from either side of his right hand, forming into Seeva's pole. Doppel grinned.
"...And I don't even have to copy the person whose weapon it is to use it!"
Seeva looked skeptical.
"...Of course, the problem with that is, with so many weapons to choose from, I can't master them all. So I figure if I learn the basic principles and techniques from you, I can decently use any weapon."
"All right." Seeva said, "What about Skylos?"
Doppel frowned.
"He deigned not to come." he said, and that was that, "Of course, Eclipse isn't too much of a heavy weapon user anyway, Pandora's box doesn't really count, and Kylsos and Chraos... I don't know about them. But unless they come, it's just me from KKK's characters."
Seeva was silent. Doppel had broken the fourth wall. AGAIN.
"Don't make it a habit." I told him, "I may have given you the privilege to break the fourth wall occasionally, but it's just a privilege and I can take it away if I want."
Doppel frowned and sighed.
"Yes sir..."

Johnny strutted into the room with confidence, hopefully this teacher would be much nicer than the girl he had met when he first joined, as he looked towards the desk he realized it was the girl from when he first joined.
"So the drunk has decided to join us again has he?"
"I'm not a drunk, how many times do I have to tell you? Anyway, I'm here for a class on weapon techniques, I have a sword, I'm just not very adept with it. I'm more into using my magic to fight but I figure I might as well know how to use a weapon in case my magic fails on me."

David fell in from the ceiling.
David: Woah! Hey a fighting class. This will be a nice place to lay low until people stop asking question about that Hole I made.

"Now, class. Here is the first question. If somebody is unarmored, and is swing a sword directly down at you, what do you do?"
Bulzeeb
July 23rd, 2007, 01:03 PM
"Roll away from the sword." Chaos said.
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 01:07 PM
"Wrong. Rolling away will leave you vulnerable to another attack, or even that one, if the fighter is skilled enough. Anybody else?"

Jenny: I'd dash to the left to dodge, keep my guard up on my right with my weapon in case he tries another strike, and punch him in the face with my free left hand.
Jenny spoke as she casually walked toward her seat.
Jenny: Oh, and sorry I'm late. Hee hee
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 01:30 PM
"That is a possible technique. Although punching him might leave your arm to be cut off should he block. Here, I will list two effective techniques."
Seeva began to draw diagrams on the board.
"The first one, as you can see, involves the defender rising his weapon above his head to block the strike, then kicking the attacker while he is briefly stunned. While he is down on the ground, strike the chest."
"The second effective technique would be to attempt to strike the chest from the left or the right. If the attacker has a heavy sword, use the time that it takes for him to swing to strike his unarmored chest."
"Now, what if he is a speedy swordfighter, such as a ninja? Attempt to back up against a wall to protect your vulnerable backside. Use your weapon as a shield, holding it to your body to block and forward strikes, and move it as needed to block sideways attacks. Always move along the wall to disrupt his attacks. Are there any questions before I move on to axes?"
Bulzeeb
July 23rd, 2007, 01:32 PM
"No....I hate axes bad experince with people using those annoying things." Chaos said.
Sean Connery
July 23rd, 2007, 02:13 PM
David: What if there are no walls when you get attacked by the ninja?
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 02:14 PM
"You would use whatever you could find. A tree, for example."
Sean Connery
July 23rd, 2007, 03:15 PM
David: What if you were in the middle of a field and the Ninja was hiding in the grass?
Krazy Koco King
July 23rd, 2007, 03:21 PM
"Uhh, yeah, what about dual-wielding blades?" Doppel asked, "That's completely different, because if you blocked the first strike above your head he'd just stab you with the other one. Skylos would anyway, and that's who I'm thinking of anyhow."
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 04:15 PM
"David, must you be that annoying? Covering your back does not leave you vulnerable to teleport/illusion attacks. It is not necessary. In the plains, you don't have anything."
Seeva looked at Doppel.
"In that case, you attempt to counter attack before they reach you. You could try to block both, of possible, but if this is not possible, attempt to deflect the blade that would cause the most damage."
OOC: This is really to teach a few of you how to make better RP posts.
Krazy Koco King
July 23rd, 2007, 04:18 PM
Doppel frowned.
"So then there's no way to defend effectively against a dual-wielder? If that was the case, then why doesn't everyone just dual-wield if single-weapon and two-handed weapons were so vulnerable to quick dual-wielders?"
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 04:25 PM
"Duel-weilding takes a large amount of skill and ability to do. Duel-weilding itself is weaker than a single weapon because only one hand is used instead of two, and only one arm can focus the attack. It is really personal choice."
Krazy Koco King
July 23rd, 2007, 04:29 PM
"But then how could someone fight a dual-wielder if that person 'personally chose' to wield a single-weapon or two-handed? They'd get chopped up by the dual-wielder, if they can't even block an attack." Doppel pressed the point.
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 04:33 PM
"Can you be any less annoying? Assassins might use two daggers, and warriors might use large swords. As I said, personal choice. The person chooses whichever is better for them."
Krazy Koco King
July 23rd, 2007, 04:36 PM
"All right, then next time I fight Skylos I'll use a large sword." Doppel scoffed, "An excellent way of getting myself killed faster than I can say 'crap'."
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 05:07 PM

David: Seeva I fight with my katana, and usually I wield it one handed. So it leaves the other hand avaible to send out a telekinetik blast. Do you see any flaws in my technique?
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 05:13 PM
"Your style seems mainly offensive. Sending a wave from your hand leaves you vulnerable for a brief period of time."
Sean Connery
July 23rd, 2007, 05:21 PM
David: But that would only be for a brief second, and only be a problem if their was more than 1 opponent.

Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 05:37 PM
"You will be open if you block only one weapon. Use the sword as bait, lure a strike to it, and hope to find an opening while baiting your opponent with fake weak points."

"Umm... how could I beat Skylos? I can only copy people who he and I both know, or even if I morph into somebody he doesn't know, he can adapt. And since I use so many forms, I never really master one power or style. And dividing doesn't help much because I get weaker by how many clones I make- if I made 25 clones each one would only be 1/25 of my original strength. And numbers don't help much against Skylos anyway. So what should I do?" Doppel asked.
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 07:15 PM
Seeva said nothing.

OOC: The latter I think.

Kaitlyn had been taking notes the whole time.
"What... What if we're unarmed? Or or weapon is knocked away?"
ooc: Serious questions, i need to improve my unarmed RP's.

Zen/Sin
July 23rd, 2007, 09:05 PM
Kaitlyn raised her hand yet again
"For beginners, would you suggest light swords, heavy sowrds, or what?"
Aura
July 23rd, 2007, 09:13 PM
"It honestly depends on your fighting style. Some people don't feel comfortable with light swords. Same with large swords, katanas, knives, and daggers."
Krazy Koco King
July 23rd, 2007, 11:11 PM
OOC: Sorry I really wasn't trying to but seeing as how everyone else was asking a question like that I figured I would too. Not really the best excuse, but... whatever. In that case I'll just stay permanently shut up, to save the questions for those who actually need it. ^_^

Seeva looked around at the class.
"Now, we will begin our topic on axes. Axes are, usually, more powerful than swords, boxs, staves, and lances. The weight gives them raw power, but using them requires skill. The weight makes them hard to lift, and they are often slow. Also, when swinging them, the inertia causes them to be hard to stop after a miss, leaving the attacker vulnerable while he recovers. Can any of you give me two ways to counter an axe user?"
Sean Connery
July 25th, 2007, 05:53 PM
David: Attack the wielder while they're at the begining of the swing?
Aura
July 25th, 2007, 06:18 PM
"Actually, no. Getting that close when he begins will leave you there when he swings."
Zen/Sin
July 25th, 2007, 11:52 PM
"Feint one way and as they swing, dash another?"
Aura
July 26th, 2007, 12:39 AM
"No, dodging does nothing, except stall. When you see then swing, dash forward. They will suffer from recoil as they fight to control their axe, giving you time to do a few quick hits to their exposed form."

Dan rushed to Seeva's class, hearing her question which was spoken quite loudly, almost as if she was speaking over other voices. As he neared room 338 he heard other srudents already in that lesson giving her answers, but he couldn't make out what they were saying. As he saw the number on the door, he quickly opened the door.
"Bait the user into swinging their axe. Axe are mainly raw power weapons, but often they are big and virtually unwieldy to unskilled users. They take time to change direction unlike swords and other much lighter weapons, making the user vulnerable in some cases." Dan said as he walked into the class.
He continued, "In my opinion, allowing them to swing and then evading that attack whilst they are in full swing gives you a chance to attack them with something out of their reach and quick such as a kick or a sword thrust."
He looked at everyone in the room, then began to feel somewhat embarrassed. "Sorry I am late Seeva, I was just finishing off with my dorm room." He added politely.

"Could using an axe of your own counter an axe?"
Aura
July 29th, 2007, 11:15 AM
"Axe vs. Axe combat is very difficult. Both people would be vulnerable. Match your opponent's rythm, and never be opposite of his. Doing so will leave your vitals vulnerable during recoil."
Storm Wolf
July 29th, 2007, 12:49 PM
"So, Seeva." Dan started, he was all for asking questions, " If two Axe wielders were to fight, it would just ba a matter of who has more skill and experience right?"
Aura
July 29th, 2007, 12:55 PM
"Exactly. Whoever has less recoil will most likely be the winner. Swing not only to hit, but to protect your body. When you swing, they won't be there. Use that time wisely. Any questions? Next is spears."
Storm Wolf
July 29th, 2007, 01:54 PM
"Seeva" Dan said hastily, "Say someone was using a smaller form of axe, such as a hatchet, would it be safe to say that you should treat it like any normal axe?"
He waited patiently for an answer.
Aura
July 29th, 2007, 02:01 PM
"It depends. Give me a situation."
Storm Wolf
July 29th, 2007, 02:14 PM
"Well, in any situation really, because they are normally only one-handed weapons because of their shorter handle length." He stated hesitantly.
"Uhh, well let's say somebody with a hatchet swings horizontally at a sword wielder, couldn't you say that their time to change direction is just as long and the inertia is about the same, even though the weapon they are wielding is smaller and only one hand is used?"
__________
OOC: Genuine question, sorry about the gibbering.
Aura
July 29th, 2007, 05:03 PM
"The inertia differs from mass. It would take longer to recover from a one-handed swing than a two handed swing, no matter the size."
